You need good mirrors in this too because screaming away at 20,000rpm you feel like you're going 150mph until you look over your shoulder and some moped overtakes you at 42mph.
8-12-2018.. I just bought me a 1990 cbr250rr mc22 with 45000Ks on the clock has been fully rebuilt repainted and all the bits and pieces. I love it!! Best thing ive ever bought in my life, and thats coming from a brand new yamaha R3 and MT07 owner (which i dont have anymore).
man they shouldve kept making these kind of bikes, i wonder why they stopped. seems these days all theyre making are single cylinder high tourqe and supposedly "usable power" bikes. what ever happened to these inline 4 250cc screamers :D
+Virus Rider I did the exact same with my MC22 while I was learning a few years back because I was too scared zipping through a school zone during school hours.
Love the way you present and conduct your reviews mate. I just started watching your videos and after the first one I hit subscribe. Keep up the awesome work. Thankyou.
good review. i use to own a 250rr and upgraded to a 600rr but would definitely consider buying another one in the future they are a blast to ride. I wasn't overly fond of the seating position i feel being up higher has a better center of gravity and control. Only other criticism to the 250rr is reliability being so old, easy to get a lemon and will end up sucking more cash then a 07+ 600rr.
I just found a MC22 with under 10k in Ontario Canada, Only the 3rd one i've seen for sale in the past 7 years. Original paint original tank imported grey and properly licensed. 3500$ CAD :) Score or what?! Looking at it this week
I've recently started riding one. Mine is no TYGA Kit, I think the mirrors are a little better on the original.. Because I can kinda see from my mirrors..
Lovely review and good looking bike too. I would love to just thrash that thing around a racetrack. Easier to take to the absolute limit when you don't have to worry about powerslides or possible highsides... Looks like fun!
the 250's are a good bike for learning, easy to flick out of trouble...the only thing i can fault Honda with are the stock brakes because when you ride for a good few hours they become spongy, nothing some braided brake lines can't fix though :)
In the LAMS category - I believe only the RVF400 & CBR250RR are the most fun to ride but the downside is their reliability since they're pretty old now.
Spare parts are plenty, used and brand new OEM. Also, it's most likely going to be someone's first bike so any repairing experience is good experience. Until the engine needs a complete rebuild or something haha
Thats true. They're just high maintenance because I had a few issues with my '90 MC22. it got the point where I couldn't enjoy riding it any more and also the lack of power eventually comes into play.
Like actual bikes? These are real bikes, the law states that we have to start on smaller bikes here in Australia. Deal with it. There's THOUSANDS of videos out there on R6's and CBR1000RR's.
luke watson Look, 250RR are legerndary bikes, and even now costs a lot, in about 20 years price will hit the sky, because it rare and amazing legendary bike, and it is a SHAME and stupid to not keep it original and put shitty tyga kit...It is like a putting spoilers, decals and bumper kits and tinting windows on a 1961 ferari 250gt or some other rare classic car
Fair enough, you are entitled to your own opinion, and in certain areas our opinions overlap. (Legendary bikes, and yes, due to their rarity and legendaryness(?) for their age, they are a relatively expensive bike.) On the other hand, they are / were a bike aimed at the learner rider, therefore more likely to have been dropped or damaged in some way, making it necessary to replace certain parts (often fairings!) Keeping in mind that what makes these bikes so legendary (in my opinion) is the performance and the sound, (F#*k your 'Brappp' I want to hear my engine SCREAM!! XD) I do not see it as such a big deal to change / update the looks - but, each to their own.
i want my first motorcycle so bad, and 250's seem perfect and cheap. but my dad (who is helping me pay for it) says that i might aswell get a scooter. but these 600's are so much more expensive (no 300s or 500s in my area). i dont know what to do :\
Starting on a supersport is probably a bad idea if you want to learn how to corner and get knee down. Start on something small and be a badass. The best feeling is passing a 600 or 1000 in the corners when you're on a 250.
The Kawasaki ZX2R is a worthy ride, too. I believe there's a vlogger in Australia with one, goes by the name TwystedThrottle. RidingWithTom has a video on it watch?v=FJ8R4tYbX5w < Sounds AWESOME! Shame they've stopped producing the IL4 250's in favour of twinpots :(
I have watch it... The most beautyfull sound ever, like more than Rihana's voice... Had 20k RPM like the CBR 250RR MC22. Goes nowhere at 40mph but it sound already loud. People around Tom's like, who's driving an F1 car...?? :D
They're weak in bike terms, but they're bloody nippy compared to most cars. And they handle like nobody's business. Just fun little bikes, that you can abuse, which don't make you lose your licence. Shame they don't make small capacity IL4's!
This baby bike will seriously embarrass an r6 on a tight enough racetrack racetrack. anyone can plant throttle, learning on one of these teaches you to ride a motorcycle hard. all bikes are great fun though, this thing will top out at 190kmh, that is way faster than anyone who is learning to ride needs to be going.
You need good mirrors in this too because screaming away at 20,000rpm you feel like you're going 150mph until you look over your shoulder and some moped overtakes you at 42mph.
The best 250 ever made, the baby blade is a little beast!
Agree!
Agree too!!
Cbr 250rr was my first bike and will always be my favourite, the thing just sounds amazing!
I’ll keep my mc19 forever, one of my favorite bike, such a beauty.

change of laws in japan -_-
They definitely sound amazing compared to the modern 250's and they're more quicker thats for sure. cant stand the sounds of the modern LAMS.
Keisuke Takahashi
modern dat ones sound liek bloody lawn mowers haha! Keisuke Takahashi
Blake Gambale Sure do! I swear all new 250 motors are made by briggs and stratton
Keisuke Takahashi IKR the modern 250-300s sound so weak and no grunt to it at all.
Why the hell did i never think of duct-taping a watch to my dash... Thanks Virus Rider, you're a bloody legend =)
hahaha
+Virus Rider I did the exact same with my MC22 while I was learning a few years back because I was too scared zipping through a school zone during school hours.

I put bar end mirrors on mine, you can see much better than these or the original mirrors. this is a great bike to learn on.
Looks like the old road from sydney to gosford ???

buy it
ANd do you bought it ? :D
my brother did. i almost enjoy it more than mine lol
My first bike. I leeeerved it!! Such a great little motor.
Also try when you haven't got the worse tyres you can get on it, Virus has horrid tyres and when they get better ones they are just amazing in corners
I've recently started riding one. Mine is no TYGA Kit, I think the mirrors are a little better on the original.. Because I can kinda see from my mirrors..
I am already saving up for it.
It's such a shame they don't build 2 strokes anymore :(
Too bad this bike has a shitty tyga fairing kit.
WTF ?!?
The Razzer
I don't like tyga kits. They look shit
BlackHoon and you like the originals..?they look like crashed...xD
BlackHoon agreed the tygas are god awful
giorgos lovesmk
I think the original look is brilliant
Lovely review and good looking bike too. I would love to just thrash that thing around a racetrack. Easier to take to the absolute limit when you don't have to worry about powerslides or possible highsides... Looks like fun!

Thanks, and yeah it is great on the twisties.
That is one beautiful road. No secret apparently either there were bikes everywhere.
Ham you should do a review of a proper bike (2 stroke) like the RG 500 Gamma.
Test rode one of these last week on my channel, super enjoyable bike!
Awesome vid! Was there much of a performance difference between the 2 bikes?
Sounds so good. So much better than the cap 250r's that are out now, and those mirrors are definitely not original.
Those side mirrors aren't OEM, also the fairings are Tyga kit.
Why did they stop making those little 250's with the inline 4? That things sounds sooo good.
Probably because of emissions regulations and Im guessing they're a bitch to maintain.
James Downes Nah, they found cheaper ways to make 250cc's.
Jason Stroman to expencive the motors cost a fortune

I'd just like to point out that the bike does not have stock fairings and the mirrors are aftermarket.
Google Pie in the Sky, it's on Pacific Hwy
hey mate thats right near my home in Mt Colah! I just bought a CBR250RR MC22. Nice old Pac run lmk if you want to hmu for a ride soemtime!
Are they good if they done like 50k on them. I want to buy one but not sure if still reliable since its a 250
Adam Bsisou Yeah even over 150k...
Like actual bikes? These are real bikes, the law states that we have to start on smaller bikes here in Australia. Deal with it. There's THOUSANDS of videos out there on R6's and CBR1000RR's.
Can't wait to see your 300 review viedo
Crazy the sound it makes for a 250cc!
I wonder if this is legal in America?
I can't believe he didn't put the best tyres on it for me.. unbelievable :P
This is 10 minutes away from me. Brooklyn is an amazing road.
I know right! i have pirelli's on mine
Going to buy a 1990 CBR250RR to race at Morgan Park (and hopefully other places) :)
Best LAMS bike ever in my opinion. Anyone that asks me what bike to get first, I always suggest the Honda CBR250RR
Thanks Ian
If the mirrors were bread, you would at least have something to eat on long trips. Excellent video mate!
Welcome!
Moar videos please HAM. Your music choicea ace it every time.
That bike is bad-ass! Great Video mate!
What bike is the Green one ?
Sounds like my bike ;) 4 cylinder 250's just tend to have that distinctive sound
Is this bike legal for A2 licence? Thanks!
Not sure in UK but in Australia its learner legal
UK The bike is A2 Legal yes
Except you won't find them in the UK. Or Parts for that matter
i got one
What year is this?
60,000,000,000,000 rpm?!? That's way too low!
I WISH I had one.... That thing looks and sounds remarkable.
Pacific Hwy in NSW
I've been missing your strawberry kisses Gnarcs
What's the song at the end of the vid? Please someone tell me!
this is diff to the old cbr250rr?? isn't this a new bike !?
did he just change the fairing or something ?
+Micheal Salvatore yeah, that is just another one shitty tyga fairing kits
What makes you say that? (shitty tyga fairing kit?) - Are they crap quality or you just don't like the look?
luke watson Look, 250RR are legerndary bikes, and even now costs a lot, in about 20 years price will hit the sky, because it rare and amazing legendary bike, and it is a SHAME and stupid to not keep it original and put shitty tyga kit...It is like a putting spoilers, decals and bumper kits and tinting windows on a 1961 ferari 250gt or some other rare classic car

Make a review on yamaha R6
i want my first motorcycle so bad, and 250's seem perfect and cheap. but my dad (who is helping me pay for it) says that i might aswell get a scooter. but these 600's are so much more expensive (no 300s or 500s in my area). i dont know what to do :\

okay thanks man! appreciate the reply!!
What would everyone prefer, A CBR250rr or a RVF400??
RVF400 if it wasn't so pricey.
new springs transform these bikes for anyone over 55kg to something truly amazing!
Is there a on the shelf spring available for the rear?
Cheers
I want one! Dear Honda, please please please bring reintroduce it in the States!
It was never introduced. Any 250RR you see in the states (or in Australia, including the model shown on the video) are gray imports.
TheSpyChecker They did have Australian delivered ones.
Millage??

thats because he doesn't have a exhaust its still a weak 250

Turn back now: go watch a review by someone who knows something (anything!) about the MC22, instead ... 😒🙃
You just need more strawberry kisses in your life.
I'd love to
I've ridden huge bikes, it's all comparison, Why the hell even come onto a video just to bag on how fast they are.
Thanks :)
Can you please review like actual bikes like an r6 or an cbr1000rr I'm tired of these baby bikes
Great review and funny. But, you never took it up to 19k.
it's older
In a word, yes, about 30%more power
Nice
Surprisingly yes, not much but yes
Cant wait til i get my L's, deffs hitting up the old pacific hwy!
I like you because you ride in the UK, you dont have an exaggerated accent. And it s awesome :DD
looks like a nice bike
Fucking love your videos!!! Keep it up man!!
250 sound like that wowww
That's a mighty fine Zebra.
Good review stupid music. Love the bike
Send me one!
i literally lol'd when it came on.
Nicki Webstar ftw!
You secretly loved it..
The CBR250RR

oh dear, Nikki lol. I did the "Clock Mod" on my old ZZR250... till some scum in the city nicked the watch.
Haha, that is true.
It's overclocking it ;)
Lots of fun haha

Complain to Kevin Rudd he made me
