This is the time of year you both work extremely hard, picking up the pots, repairs not only the pots but the boat, engine and all your equipment. Im sure all your subscribers appreciate your hard work not just fishing. The editing of your videos to keep us entertained during the fishing season. So everyone give them the👍for all their hard work many thanks to both of you. 👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
A home for crustations attached to a floating flag. Drop your pots near by. A vanish plastic container with holes drilled, baited, inside to scent your pots.
It is but we have been doing a crazy amount of filming so plenty to come. I just need to sort through all the footage, plus shore fishing and foraging will also be on its way when we start.
That is a fantastic catch. Congratulations👏👏👏 I´ve caught tens of thousands of crab in my life but never one that big.😳 And for it to be in prime condition as well is a proper jackpot👍
They are everywhere it does not matter where we put pots deep or shallow we catch them now and they are spreading miles down the coast. You have to remember that they can get in and out of our pots especially smaller ones so we are probably only seeing a fraction of whats there. I have also had reports from fishermen and divers who have started catching a few of these large octopus around the Uk south coast. The next few years will be interesting to see what will happen.
Hi troy Rebecca those octopus, is there no call for them anywhere on Guernsey are you not able to sell them or give them to someone, all I can think of to do is take them out into the deep water and drop them over the side a long way off 😊, are they no good for bait maybe.

@@Trojwaterman Great, looking forward to it! Just been back two weeks ago (originally local). Was wonderful.
I hate to ask silly questions but have you thought of eating the octopus, they are really good to eat, cook them in a pressure cooker for 50 minutes
The problem with most of them is they are so big, That's a lot of octopus to eat. But it is an option.
You win some and then you lose some , every day is a learning curve . What happened to the octopus?
This one was taken for someone who wanted one.

It was a good one full of meat
It’s going to get a bigger problem these octopus traveling north. How do countries on the Mediterranean stop them getting in cray pots?
Crays are very spiny with razer sharp antenna and hang around in groups so better protected against them.
@@Trojwaterman ah right didn’t think of that good knowledge.
I can see it being a problem in the future though. Are they an invasive species in Guernsey
The octopus?
Hi Troy, the problem with the Octopus, is it all over or just in certain areas?

There are a number of people who want them but they are so big, that's a lot of octopus to deal with.
Is there a market for octopus?
There is but its limited
Can they be used for pot bait
Probably scare everything away :)
Who took the lobster
An 8 legged burglar. Right it's time to get out the burgundy, garlic, onion and salt . Stew pot 😋
You both have hi viz coats,, but do you wear life jackets..
The reason they are high viz is because they are floatation jackets far better thermal protection.
Very nice crab❤
