Hi Bob the codling was a surprise for sure but a welcome one!!!! Some lovely bream too they gave great bites when the tide was running knocking a 6oz grip straight out!!!! As always thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment cheers Ian
Fantastic trip to the south coast Ian , and lovely mark too, it’s that time when summer and winter species are about so it’s a great time to fish there . appreciate your efforts mate. Paul
Hi Paul lovely to hear from you as always! So much tidal pull there and extremely deep close in …. Not always easy to fish but a really nice change!! Thanks again for your continued support cheers Ian
Hi Leighton yes a lovely stamp of fish I must say!! They fought really well in the strong tide there! Thanks again for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Hi Nick as you can see we are trying to get out and about more!!!! I hope to keep you entertained for the foreseeable future!!! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
Ha ha yes not bad for a couple of old gits!! It’s so nice to be retired now so we can get out fishing more often!!! Chris currently in Tenerife fishing for marlin!!…. I’m not there as I have no sea legs unfortunately ☹️ take care mate!! Cheers Ian
Enjoyed your latest video, the bream look like great fun, your videos inspire me to go fishing with bait this winter instead of lure fishing. Just home from a week's bass chasing in south west Kerry, the fishing was just incredible. Look forward to your next installment. Regards Keith.
Hi Keith so nice to hear from you!! Your Irish bass fishing sounds fantastic….Chris and I have been considering a trip there in the near future trying the southern coast! I’m so pleased you enjoyed the video and that it has given you some inspiration! Thanks very much for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Oh a much much easier walk and the stones there are more compacted too!!! However saying that Chesil will always be my favourite despite the post fishing recovery period which gets longer as I get older!!😂 Thanks again for watching cheers Ian
Hi Gordon glad you enjoyed the video it was nice to fish a new venue for a change but I can’t wait to get back to Chesil!!!! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
Looks like a wonderful weekend, glad you out and about enjoying retirement, that sea on the second morning looked so nice and you had fish and company, what more could you ask for, lovely session, tight lines.
I was on a camping holiday at Hurst view camp site from 18th Aug to 24th Aug 2024, not far from here, We fished where you fished and was weeded out everyday, was totally unfishable We even tried fishing from the carpark at Milford on sea, again totally unfishable due to weed. The tide pull there is soooooo strong too as it's leading to the solent, especially at Hurst castle. Great video guys as usual. Tight lines
Hi John we were so lucky that the weed was minimal though the tide really pulled even on a small neap!!!! So sorry that your fishing was ruined by weed very unfortunate!! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
A reply to another comment but yes New Lane is free parking🤫, can be stuffed full of camper vans at weekends and always busy at weekends with walkers So get there early or late. Bonus is if the beach is unfishable, just go to the back of the bank for some nice Bass. Tom Bagnell has a couple of good videos of the back. For a full day fish the back (estuary) on the flood with light gear or at least a light weight, then pop over to beach side for the slack & ebb. PB bass have all been on the estuary side
When I started fishing Dungeness way back in the 80s the rigs that were very successful locally for codling didn't work at all there so local knowledge is vital. Never assume that what catches on your regular beaches will work elsewhere! SOME VERY USEFUL info here.
Hi Kerry yes local knowledge is vital on new venues… Tom helped us tremendously and by modifying our approach we managed some nice fish we probably wouldn’t have caught otherwise!! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
Hi Mike…. Mmmmm…. I think the problem with Milford is that you cannot fish spring tide floods and even on the neaps we fished the grip leads struggled. So that limits your fishing time whereas Chesil you can fish 24/7 but equally there are times with no tide and no fish!!!! Milford a much easier walk…., But Chesil wins I think!!!! Cheers Ian

Nice to see a different venue. Tides seem quite strong there . Do you prefer Chesil ? Stay safe and tight lines Mike.

Allways fancied giving that a go but what's the parking like there? Is it as eye watering expensive as some of the other local car parks?
Not at all it’s free parking on the roadside verge on New Lane at the base of Milford Shingle… thanks for watching cheers Ian
