In Limsa if you go to the Arcanist's guild and to the left, you can talk to the airship guy on the right side wall and you can fast travel to the waking sands. Saves a bunch of time not having to always walk over to the Waking Sands from the aetheryte.
Checking guides before doing new dungeons before entering them is something I skipped while I was a sprout and honestly prefer it that way, there's something about the thrill of the unexpected and learning mechanics first-hand that feels oh so amazing, the pure FFXIV experience is simply that good, perfectly paired by the community who is extremely patient and wont flame after a wipe/willing to help you understand mechanics mid-dungeon.
I do the same as you I don't look at a guide I'll eventually learn it on my own cause people will also help you with the mechanics too. Its like a spoilers to me amd I don't want to be spoiled until I actually play it for myself.
Honestly I'm glad I got in late enough that I can just use Duty Support for all the MSQ dungeons; gave me a good opportunity to get a grounding in them at less than the breakneck pace of three people trying to clear the dungeon ASAP so they can either get their daily clear or get back on the roulette, and once I got into HW and they start using story NPCs for your support companions it just feels a lot more narratively immersive.
I did take every sidequests, cleared everything optional before I kept going with msq. Sure it took me half a year to finish the msq (I started playing on 5.3 I believe ?) but the satisfaction of knowing every bit of lore and having no exclamation points on any of my minimaps is too satisfying. Some sidequests are very funny or emotional too, I enjoyed everything !
Back when I started (ARR) you kinda had to to do the sidequests to grind to the next level that would progress your MSQ. So yeah, I'd say if you have the time and patience, then doing the sidequests adds a lot to the world :D
One big for me : the game when I began never really explained the Limit Break. Not at least, how IMPORTANT it is, and how to access it easily (the button never pops alone on the hotbars). We see it when you talk about Sprint tho. New players, put this one on you hotbar, easy access. It's an evidence now, but for DPS it's an impressive amount of damage. For heal that can save the party (litterally, when everyone is dead), same for tank (maximum protection). Some boss mecha even require the use of tank LB (eeeeh yes).
A big one for me recently: there's a setting to allow free movement of the camera when talking to an NPC (as opposed to it snapping to face them whenever you're not directing it elsewhere), this was a game changer for my immersion in the world while questing... I've taken to going into first-person view when running around doing non-combat quests; all of the little emotes that NPC's do to you and toward other NPC's while you're talking to them and progressing your quests, their mouth moving as if they're talking while you're reading their speech bubbles, and just all the little details going on around me in the world that I never noticed, because I was zoomed out as far as I could go most of the time.
Related to both mounts AND the end of the video: you can turn off the altitude warning for flying too high in your settings. Handy if you find yourself in Outer La Noscea especially, but other areas where the ground is really close to the upper limit, too.
One very useful thing that I found out as a healer main after 70 hrs of play, If you want to play dungeons as a healer, but healer queue isn't popping you can switch to another healer known as Warrior. This fixxing bugged healer dungeon queue 95% of the time and you can still play as a healer with anger management issues. Also you can use Ctrl + arrow keys to change camera view. Ctrl while using map will highlight Aetherites in the sea of side quests. Ctrl mousing over items will show you the difference between NQ and HQ versions of that item (if available). Casting any spell on RDM to trigger dualcast, will allow you to instant cast Sprint... Why is that still in the game, Yoshida-san?
More tips to save gil: When you travel to one location constantly, make sure to register it on the main giant aetherite. It will allow you to travel to said location for half the price. You can register 3 areas on trial and 4 areas on subscription. I didn't learn this till like 3-4 years after playing for first time😂🤣. Another tip if trying to travel to Ul'dah without spending 120 gil, go to Gold Saucer then to Ul'dah for free. Also use the hunting log to gain levels early and complete job quest when available for new weapon and item pieces every 5 levels from level 5-30.
Wish I knew about hunt marks when I started Casually pick up the easy daily hunt marks from the board and just go about your day since they dont have a time limit. Chances are youll run into your targets while youre out & about and theyll have a little (mandragora I think) icon over their head to say "hey, punch me into the ground" so no need to actively look for them if you wanted
Not sure if this was mentioned before, but in the opening sequence of the game after you create a character, if you select the option of "make a fortune", the merchant will give you a ring with a little crafting boost.
With the map open, hold Ctrl for the Aetherytes to pop up for easy clicking, no zooming in! (for when there are too many quest markers overlapping the crystal) Also, Ctrl + arrow keys to pan the camera!
A tip I recommend to newer players is to go to the armor vendors in major cities and buy gear in 5 level increments. Place it in your armory chest, then every five levels on your character you can just hit recommended gear and you will be wearing level appropriate stuff. Also, do the hall of the novice all the way through asap. You get a exp boosting ring for under level 30.
That's a decent tip but to save gil, you can get a free new weapon and a choice of armor piece everytime you complete your class quest from level 5-30.
Personally I found you get enough from MSQ/job rewards and dungeon chests that you don't need to buy whole kits. Granted, I also omni-crafted from the get go as well; probably not the most efficient use of time, but I enjoyed keeping my gear up with it when I could. Sadly, after ARR too many crafting materials are locked behind higher level zones...
Unlock both SCH and SMN at the same time! Both Scholar and Summoner receive Arcanist experience, so you can level both of them by playing one or the other. If you're wanting faster queues, you can play as a scholar and *still* level up your DPS class.
That’s actually what I ended up doing. I started out pure Smn but got told healers get fast duty roulette pops. So around lvl 45 I went back and unlocked Sch and shot through the relevant job quests…. And fell in love with healing. I can’t even explain why it fills me with such joy. I enjoyed it so much I went and unlocked Cnj and levelled it to Whm and keep it as my co-class. There days I’m lvl 71 Smn/Sch and lvl 70 Whm. Admittedly I do use Smn for most of the solo content because I like the lore, but at my heart I’m a Scholar. And someday when I hit lvl 90 I’ll try out Sage and Astrologian. Also red mage because that looks interesting. If only I found the land and hand classes so appealing.
@@BloodyDIMISIS55 Then what I’d suggest is going back to doing duty roulette in the ARR dungeons where you’re capped at the level of the dungeon. Despite intending to try Ast once I got to lvl 90 in Whm and Sch I unlocked it by impulse whilst in Ishgard on the Botanist quests. To get exp and and train myself on Ast I’m doing the lvl 18-30 dungeons. I’d suggest unlocking Sch, do the job quests to lvl 50 then run a few of the lvl 30-50 dungeons, then a few of the 60-70 dungeons, then a few of the 80-90 ones. (Obviously doing the relevant job quests as you go.) Within a week or two you’ll gradually be getting used to it and will have no problems operating at lvl 90 stuff.
Something I would slightly amend, as someone who completed ARR for the first time literally yesterday: there is an exception to the 'no need to consult tutorials for MSQ dungeons', and that is the 3 Crystal Tower quest alliance raids, which are needed to unlock Heavensward. I saw on the wiki that the fights are largely trivial, so I went in blind to the first one, and died pretty much constantly (playing as melee DPS, but still) (no, not dragoon. Ninja.) I think I literally spent more time dead than fighting. It was a horrible first experience with Aliance Raids. For the second and third, I learned my lesson and watched a 'updated for 2022' guides for both, and I think I died once across both raids, and made such a big difference to how much fun I was having (since a lot of the mechanics you need to have pre-knowledge of or die, but if you have the pre-knowledge, they're very doable). So, I very, very, very strongly recommend fellow sprouts check video tutorials for those. The level 50 Titan was also suprisingly hard, even knowing mechanics, but that may have just been me. Anyway, aside from that minor nitpick, nice advice, thanks. The 'don't attack after dying' in particular I found useful.
If you say you're new in these raids people will likely explain mechanics to you. Sorry your first experience was rough. I don't remember my first run of that, I probably died a lot too, but I remember it was very satisfying to understand it better after running it more in my roulettes.
@@cutecats532 I believe the exact words I said at the start was 'Blind Sprout Alert'. No mechanics were explained on that first tower, apart from someone responding that they're going to be going fast. (though in their defence, they could have started typing, but I died before they finished, so they decided not to bother). The one time I remember dying in the subsequent towers, someone did explain the mechanic. I already knew it, I only died because an explosion knocked me into a second sphere of the same type, but the effort was appreciated. But yeah, that first tower was really rough and un-fun.
You can use the different layouts for different stuff and you can use a command to switch between them all. Say for example /hudlayout 1-4 Layout 1 Combat Layout 2 Crafting Layout 3 Gathering Layout 4 (Whatever you want) I have yet to make mine good.
To elaborate on the resurrection, if you see a knock back aoe that might knock you off the arena hold onto your rez until it resolves. There is a 60 second timer for some wiggle room. Just remember, immune to damage unless you use a skill, but not to knock backs 💞
On the note of knockback. Magical dps/healers have a skill called "Surecast". It only says it prevents your spells from being interrupted I believe but it actually negates knockback! Some attacks ignore it but most knockback gets negated. Really helpful to pop it before a knock back attack and then you don't even have to worry
Made that mistake in E3N last night (just going through these for the first time), got pushed off even though I thought I was more than far enough away from the edge during an ATV pass, got raised and I don't even know if my feet touched the ground... dead again.
@@williamnolen9695 Definitely doesn't only say it precents spells from being interruped, it says "nullifies most knockbacks". And yes, ofc every role has an anti knockback
one important thing is also'' /petsize all small '' just write this on the ingame chat box and summoner pets don t give you jumpscares no more.. other good thing is to mark locations on the map!
You can rent Chocobo's from the Chocobo keep in the 3 starting cities that will give you something like 10minutes with a chocobo mount if you know where you need to go but you dont have a close aetherite to teleport to. You can also use the Chocobo Porters for a cheaper transport between major aetherites, sure it will take a little longer but you can use that time to check other things that you can use all the gil you will save from transportation fees. You can get to the Gold Saucer for free if you take the airship from the 3 starting cities. While we are on the topic of cheap/free teleports, setting major aetherites as Favored/Free destinations will save a lot of gil in the long term (I will always set the major hub/endgame hub of expansions as one of these to save tons of gil). If you have Blue Mage unlocked you actually have a free Return to your home destination...its called Self-Destruct (you can also do this in the overworld by getting a mob to kill you)
Buying a customizable gaming mouse with lots of programmable buttons changed my life (I purchased a Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite, had a good Black Friday deal). I mapped Sprint to the mouse wheel button, and my stun abilities and gap closers to buttons that are easiest for my thumb to reach. Also mapped a Raise macro (casts Swiftcast + Raise). My response time is so much quicker and it's made those tough raid fights a thousand times easier. Highly recommended.
Macros. I type quite slowly, so I don’t usually have the option to stop and type in a dungeon- I get lots of comms for communicating well, but I don’t type anything out! I have simple “hello! I’ll try my best!”, “thanks for the run!” “Thanks for raising me!” And a few more and I find it really helps ease my anxiety around communicating with my party. I keep them on a separate bar next to my chat box. On that note, you can do SO much with a combination of customising HUD layout and macros. The game is so flexible to your playstyle and it’s absolutely worth messing around with- you can always do it on a second tab so your original layout is still there. After looking at some tutorials, I have buttons to hide all my emote bars and my quest list in combat, shortcuts to my gear list, all sorts- and it all still looks so nice!
the culture shock of the community and type of people you run dungeons with in FF compared to coming from like a WoW is REAL lol. Its like "wait... but youre.. um... like... nice about the wipe"
You only get to experience the game for the first time ONCE. Don't ruin it for yourself. I've personally heard from people that wished they hadn't done it (buying a skip, or tow, aka both story and job skips) Savor, cherish your sprouthood. It's like it's almost a batch of honor.
other thing I have seen often too is people rushing to press ok to raise in some situation waiting a bit is the best option then raising when you know everything is safe can be a amazing idea after all you have a minutes to accept a raise too so can help you if the healer became busy doing a mech or anything because not all mech would be nullified for the 4 second meaning sometime you can get doom a vuln stack or even die again
My advice would be things after you get a retainer: - learn extract materia as soon as you're able. Materia I is still quite very useful on the game and it's a good way of making money as a sprout. - the market board is your friend. If there's anything you have that's worth something, don't be afraid to put it on sale and/or undercut(as in selling your item with the lowest price) You don't need to hoard anything. If you don't know what that item is for, you probably don't need to use it right now and you can get it easily later. That serves for items as well for gear.
/bgm turns off music. its much faster than searching for the vollume bar seperatly. its also cool if you wanna hear a podcast or something in the background :3
if you are going to level a crafters and or gatherers , I would recomend doing them all at the same time (as they feed off each other and can share most of the gear.) (i'm at 90 on all my doh / dols ) wish I knew this back in the arr days (beta) :)
Spectacular tipps for sprouts, no important parts left out, really good job^^ Especially the invuln after getting revived is a thing that even a lot of endgame players dont seem to know... or they just ignore it because death 3 seconds after getting rezzed is fun... */shrug* One hint I would give is: Unlock and use your retainers as soon as possible! Selling gear and items you dont need on the market and getting really valuable items every once in a while from quick ventures to re-sell can give you a well needed gil boost in the early game. Oh and one more thing, you can change your settings so that new gear that you obtain will be thrown into your normal inventory instead of your gear chest, that prevents that useless or outdated gear clutters your gear chest without you noticing it and having to sort out useless gear every so often
Thanks for the video! I already fell off for the side quest trap as I suffer seeing my map full of marks even in MMOs, but then thought that I could enjoy the main story with my favourite classes and whenever I wanted to try a new class till next expansion or patch I could just trabe, the world again doing side quests to learn about Eorzea inhabitants .
I've been playing the game for years, and there's still side content I haven't completed. It's so fun going back to do it at a ridiculously high level because it always feels like you're time traveling. And I'm constantly finding something new to enjoy. 💖
Focus target, it gives you a big arrow above the target that can be seen through walls. I usually focus the tank to know where they went. (Or focus the healer when playing as the tank)
I tell this to my sprout friends - if they don't feel comfortable telling people they're new, just focus target someone who seems to know what they do with mechanics. Especially me, since I'm their pocket mentor, but I don't speak up in chat unless someone asks or something goes horribly wrong.
Character configuration > control settings >general and scroll to the bottom for camera speed and height options that are great for roegadyn, lalafell, and tanks that want to see over their armor
For those who like me plays on controller go to to button configuration and set l3 to activate Macross 99 then go to your macros and on macros 99 set it for sprint. Congrats you basically made the sprint button you normally use on other games
I’ve really noticed it too. I was Whm once at lvl 50 and caused two wipes due to not knowing to avoid a one-hit kill mechanic during Keeper of the Lake. My party asked me why I wasn’t avoiding the mechanic and I apologised and explained that I was new and wasn’t sure what was happening. They were instantly understanding and kind. They explained what was happening and even designated the bard to be my guide. Basically I had to stand next to him and follow him for the entire fight. I did that, and we cleared easily third attempt. I never forgot them. Three random strangers who saw my mistakes and instead of getting angry, showed me what to do. And encouraged me not to give up being a healer because everyone has to learn at some point.
You don't have to out yourself if you're new to something. The system message will pop up and let the group know there's someone new to the duty. No one cares if you're doing it blind, no one cares if you die or get hit by things, just don't be the one to queue up for extreme trials. Use party finder for that.
Unless your a tank or healer. You probably should tell people if your making through dungeons as healer so tanks can adjust their pulling habbits, or so healer can be ready to drop heals after poor mitigation drops.
@@sonoskay It's up to the better players to adjust. At the end of the day, everyone is there for their own reason. I always do content blind, because I don't want some burger king crown to write out a unsolicited paragraph explaining an already heavily telegraphed fight. Feel free to ask for advice or tell people you're new, or don't.
@@sonoskay Unless you're brand new to Tanking/Healing, anyone who knows how to play their job playing a new dungeon/encounter is such a minor impact on your ability to function. Dungeon content, normal trials and raids are mostly super easy to understand without prior knowledge even at endgame.
for controller players, you can set up a sprint macro on macro spot 98 or 99 and map it to L3 or R3. can also put mount roulette in the same macro for areas that allow them. save hotbar space.
I'd recommend levelling everything you plan to level at the same time cause some jobs share gear and also once everything hits a new milestone like 40, 50 etc you can sell all gear under that level and have a nice clean inventory ^^ also don't be afraid to just talk to people!!
I wish I knew about holding down the Ctrl button to make aetherytes come to the foreground on your world map. It makes keeping up with Hunt Trains so much easier.
I started playing the game about 2-3 weeks ago. I love it to bits, love the story, the characters, but especially the couple of people I've met that have guided me through my low level struggles. Wholeheartedly I would've most likely dropped the game if it wasn't for those people. Even though the game is on the newbie friendlier side of things, it is extremely confusing when you start out. Especially if you are used to the skip the story type of mmorpgs which was my case. There's quite a few things that are like, oh just figure it out yourself. Things like differences between field gear and battle gear, how to get into the side jobs like fishing and mining and what not. It took me to lvl 40 to find out that you can save your gear so when you change jobs you don't have to manually equip everything on and off. That you can use dungeons to gain massive amounts of exp daily (literally already had finished ARR when I figured that out). So if you can, grab a friend for those first 20 levels of yours specifically one that's well versed.
I 1st started playing FF14 back at the tail end of 2021 and everyone told me that I just had to make it through the ARR part of the game to get to the good stuff so my expectations for ARR was rock bottom simply bc everyone told me it was bad. Then when I actually started playing it I was honestly blown away by how good I thought it was. I even go as far as saying that I enjoyed ARR more than I enjoyed Stormblood
The evangelists who go around recruiting people to this game have some weird insecurity about the base game. I don't know who started the meme that ARR is bad, but the XIV community has seemed to embrace it despite knowing it's a complete falsehood.
@providencebreaker1558 I'm convinced ppl just say it's bad bc of the lack of voice acting and they probably just skipped through it all bc they were to lazy to read the dialogue and actually understand the story
Actually, do your secondary quest when you encounter them, it fix the pacing issue poeple have with msq sending them all over the place. + you get more connection to the world and its poeple you are saving.
I play on a controller so I've got macros 98 and 99 (pretty sure it's those 2) set to R3 and L3 aka click on the sticks. L3 opens up the teleport menu and R3 does one of 2 things, if I'm in a place where a mount is able to be used I get on my mount OR if I'm in a city or dungeon or anywhere a mount is not usable I sprint. It's very handy.
I actually wish I had known that as a caster DPS you had to actually aim and click when using Limit Break. Yes, I now know you can make a macro out of it, but when I did find that out I was in "Chrysalis" trial and caused a wipe because I failed to limit break the portal. Oh yeah... remember to put Limit Break skill into your hotbar.
I was playing on a new server on Light and I was shocked. People yelled, made fun of not informed players and expected to skip the cutscenes. Having played on a legacy world 2 years ago, I was used to people being SUPER nice. But it seems it either isn't the case anymore or new worlds attract tryhards that are weirdly rude..
Ohhh! I Never thought to trigger sprint during a battle. I just assumed it would be canceled out if you were attacking/weapons drawn. Thank you for this informative video!
I wish I knew about expert deliveries for easy seals when I started. And the left Ctrl button to bring aetherytes to the forefront of the other icons covering them on the main map. And holding X (on pc) to click through crowds covering seasonal quest targets.
this game looks like it has the potential to be a lot of fun, I just wish I had friends who were willing to try it out too. Hopefully the game will allow me to find mutually minded people who want to play together!
It's also very solo friendly, which is a major bonus for me! I have a limited amount of social endurance, so being able to go at my own pace and do my own thing without having to socialize to clear content is such a boon. Especially now that they've made it so you can opt to take NPC's into dungeons rather than queue up for a party. That really helped with my Tank Anxiety (don't play tank often, and I'm rather slow and cautious) plus I can fully explore the dungeons and get the Achievement points.
Really great video! Did really learn a lot of new useful things I can take with me in my FFXIV adventure, so thx! Btw usually I find such guide videos as this a bit boring, but this one was different. It felt like it only just had started when it ended. Keep up the good work : )
at @1:40 "once you reach level 25 and join a grand company you can also join a free company" -- you do not have to be level 25 to join a free company, you do not have to 'unlock' the ability to join. you can 100% join FC's on a brand new toon, level 1/zero play time, without having completed even one quest (i have designer toons on a LOT of servers and have joined many FC's to decorate as soon as my brand new toon logged onto the server) -- The only requirement is you have a paid sub - free trial users cannot join FC's
Related to turning off music: You can turn off field battle music, which is useful if you are in a place where mobs aggro you a lot as you go through the zone (especially when you can't fly yet) and you wanna hear the background/zone music instead.
From any major city-state, you can get a free ride to the Gold Saucer. Then, from the Gold Saucer, you can get a free ride to Ul'dah. Use this to your benefit :)
I would actually go a step further and mention hunts and aetheryte tickets. cheap to buy, simple to get, and completely erases teleport cost. would also mention you don't have to feel married to an FC if you do join one. Sometimes theres just some bad apples in them that can ruin your experience or they just don't do the kind of content you want, in which case leaving is totally fine. I had this problem with the small one i was in and it felt like i was betraying them wanting to leave, but it was overall for the best. Do what makes you most happy.
Some people will wait for you to finish a cutscene, others will nuke the boss and clear the fight before the cutscene is over. And I was the sprout tank in that case.
My friend told me not to bother with sidequests, but now I have regrets. Because I'm on free trial, been wasting lots of exp from main quests and constantly at issue of being too close to the gil cap. It's a lesson for my other characters then. Also, aside touch all aetherites, talk to every chocobo keep as well. Even though aetherites are great to get around, chocobo keeps are great to sometimes lead you to mission objectives if they're between A and B, useful if you haven't unlocked flying, want to save money on trips, or haven't done quests to deal with aether currents yet. Also, the sprint button is really useful in cities and certain instances where your chocobo isn't available, so second best thing to use to get around fast is the ability.
I came back like 2 months ago, after getting most of the way through I'm leveling a tank, and its VERY surprising how nice people are even though this is the first MMO I've really played in this style.
I have to say about people watching cutsenes in dungeons. I've been seeing an increase in people just ignoring it and starting the boss battle in the last 1-2 years. I don't know why, but it's something I've noticed and find it quite sad 😕
This is a big one for sure, and you can also bind it to a second key if needed. I have mine bound to both numpad 0 and tilde ( ` / ~ key above tab), so i have tab for enemies, and tilde for objects/npcs... this was the biggest hurdle for me getting comfortable switching from controller to mouse and keyboard, cause I was already used to using a button to select an object/enemy in front of me... and i kept panicking and clicking the wrong thing with the mouse lol (tanking cutters cry and trying to skip the trash and jump in the portal, then getting interrupted over and over and eventually dying... never had trouble with it on controller!)
I absolutely love this game. People are so friendly and helpful. I do still think it's hilarious that I once had my dungeon party FINISH OFF the boss before I finished the intro cutscene 😂.
I did that out of necessity on the free trial. Needed all the other crafters to make stuff for the others. Except somehow Alchemist wasn't needed for a while and I had to level that seperate.
you know, one big help for boss battles is roll the camera back, i tend to play with the camera close, and you tend to miss some of the later attack telegraphs, so rolling way back really helps the visibility. i know on the new trails , it makes a massive difference seeing some of the cues.
The biggest tip i give for new players is this game is filled with people who love to help, don’t feel ashamed for asking for help as people in this game mostly love to help newer players
as a new player im loving the story so far, sure there are soe parts where i say uff drag it to long with this quest, but when there is a cutscene is gold
A video with all of the common terms - those that only FFXIV uses - would be very helpful. I've been so confused by things like dots, "we used to have dots," "will they bring dots back?" And then there's fiz, "I'm a fiz player". All of those shortened terms that people who've played the game for 10 years take for granted.
I was so confused by "fiz" for a solid minute or two... I'm guessing it's "phys"? As in physical (ranged) DPS? I'm right there with you though, it's my first MMO, I just asked about 5 million questions when I was first starting to play... my sister got me into the game, so I'd be on Discord with her and just constantly hurtling questions about things I'd heard but not understood in the game for like a solid year straight lol
i started playing this game with my family a few years back, but i've also developed extreme social anxiety lol so it's hard to join dungeons i've never done before without watching the same guide three or four times. especially if it's with a class i'm still learning and don't understand the rotations yet
I feel like this about joining random Party Finders, especially Savage/Extreme content, i'm glad that i found a nice FC to run with me. but i still feel the same when i'm playing healer, since if i make a mistake and died is probably a wipe, but i'm trying to overcome this
Ultros Novice network is actually really nice and helpful. Its extremely rare that there is some cringe ass argument in there and is usually just used as a general chat. There are so many 'regulars' that a lot of us just know everyone. I hate that mentors have the rep they do, but some of us genuinely like helping new players out.
I can relate to this a lot, I've used NN as a sprout myself, and later returned to help new sprouts when i could as a mentor on both EU-Twintannia and NA-Siren, and almost every interaction i've seen and been a part of on both servers has been fantastic... sure, most of the time, it's just a general place for people to hang out and shoot the shit until someone comes in with a question about something, but everyone is always happy to immediately help out in whatever way they can
Spectacular guide. Though if I'm ever to level an alt of a different race I will personally be getting one of those story skips... For ARR. While the main story itself is perfectly fine the stuff between the main story and Heavensward is some of the most tedious and mind bendingly boring/uninteresting content I've ever had to do. And since they're mandatory I damn near found myself not even playing because the stuff felt like it takes a million years to complete
04:40 There were way too many WoW refugees last time I used the Novice Network. As a former WC3 player, I found the multiple streams of Trash Talk, Toxicity and Trolling a bit nostalgic, but that's just not what the Novice Network's for. As it stands, new players should avoid the NN as much as possible.
You know how you can use the aethernet shards in the main cities to get around them quicker? Well, I didn't know for the longest time that the main aetheryte of the city can also access the aethernet.....I would port to a city, run to the nearest aethernet shard, and then teleport to the shard I wanted. So much time wasted. Holding Ctrl on the world map brings the aetherytes to the forefront, so if the aetheryte on your map is cluttered around side-quest icons, you don't have to zoom in to be able to target the aetheryte. This is more useful when you hit max-level, but you don't need to extract materia by right-clicking on your gear one by one. There's a Materia Extraction button available in your spellbook under the General section that you can use to see a list of all your items that you can extract materia from. This also helps with not accidentally extracting the materia that's socketed in your gear.
your voice is SO Angelic ^_^ Also, another little thing to get more lore out of your game, is when u highlight a picture with your mouse on a mount or minion on the minion/mount selection menu, u will get some surprise comments about them.
Tip #1: If you starting and just want to have a easy time on your first job, pick bard. Pros to picking bard: you can move and shoot with out any sort of mechanical knowhow, you have range so you can easily stay at comfortable distance where you can easily dodge boss problems, you can just continue attacking enemies since you're ranged so dont need to do any of the dance of going in and out or know what boss mechanics are really bad and what are just normal attacks, you can play music (unique to bard), at lv15 you get a slightly worse then sprint version thats a bard skill that you can just use anywhere and have always on, this really helps since you're not going to get on your mount all the time, also helps in dungeons since just makes it EVEN easier to dodge things or "run though them". In terms of your skills and combat your life is also pretty simple as can be: you have a main arrow pew-pew-pew and some skills that need random resource you get when doing pew pew, you don't have to think, if they're up you use them, and besides that you have dots and aoe pew pew, simple. Finally and this applies to all ranged classes, since you're ranged you dont have to "walk to enemies" to engage them. Tip #2: If you must pick a magic class, just pick summoner as your first job. You get a pet. You get flashy animations. You get all the iconic super monsters of the final fantasy games. It is a bit confusing compared to how easy bard is to understand but otherwise very simple mechanics wise. The summoner class is linked with a healing class, and levels both at same time, so you can always do healing and dps. Tip #3: If you must pick a melee class, just don't, all the cool melee classes are locked behind lv50+ unlock quests: samurai, dark knight, red mage, etc. So just raise one of the above and then switch to your cool melee class. Tip #3.1: If you must pick a healer class from lv1, you aint going to do much healing, but white mage is the absolute goto, just dont focus on healing exclusively (even if its most of what you do) as the community expects focus on damage 1st and healing 2nd. You are a holy nuke. Tip #3.2: Don't do more then one main job and one side job. You'll burnout, especially if you do it in the most boring part of the game, the base game. The time commitment is also NOT multiplicative but exponential even with the exp bonuses. You'll also find yourself confused on what job does what and how they work since you'll have low experience with all of them. The earlier you dabble in multiple jobs the worse it is, since you just have no idea what you're doing. The all-jobs-on-one-character is as much a curse as it is a blessing. Tip #4: Your main quests level is just as important as your character level. In terms of unlocks things unlock based on your main quest level and NOT your character level, so the more you dilly dally before getting your main quest to something like 20 the more you're locked out of mounts, companions, attendants, etc etc. Tip #5 [PS5/PS4]: Assign sheet/unsheet to R3 and reassign L3 to sprint by creating a sprint macro on either slot 99 or slot 98 (only those are available for use by L3/R3). In the macro menu to add new line you press X. Tip #6 [PS5/PS4]: Activate your extended crosshotbars, set the double tap delay to 50ms (its 25ms by default, which makes it a bit more intense then it needs to be, 100ms is max but not recommended). You can limit the cycle rotation of hotbars (R1) to just 1 and 2 (that way you have 1 tap access in dungeons to party stuff and 1 tap access to get back to skills bar from any other bar). Place only things that are either very VERY rare or very high on cooldown (90s/120s) on those extended crosshotbars. Don't place things that require timing or instant reaction (such as a interrupt move). Activate the double hold crosshotbars and set it based on last button = hotbar position (use crosshotbar 8), so R2+L2 = Left and L2+R2 = Right (it makes more sense that way when using, its backwards by default). Tip #7 [PS5/PS4]: Share crosshotbar 5,6,7,8 and 2. Remember that the number does matter! for fast action skills you dont want to press with same hand usually, you want toggle with one hand, press with the other (so dpad is "slow" on left usually, but it depends on your hands). Use 8 for useful things: inventory, armory, quest log, teleport, etc. Use 7 for rarely used things: crafting log, sightseeing log, etc. Use crosshotbar 2 for all the party related stuff (signs, timers, ready check, etc) and common utilities (I have sprint there just to check cooldown), role super move thingy, auto-attack, duty action 1, duty action 2, etc. I recommend 4 for your pet and chocobo actions and keep it on manual only (you'll want to disable pet hotbar since that will overwrite other settings, you may wish to also always show party even when its just you since that allows you to see pet state, etc, and its better to look there). Use crossbar 3 for all your extended crosshotbar actions. Nothing is stopping you from just placing ALL the actions, including ones you dont have yet, so you can just do that so everything will always stay in same place instead of just have it be random. Tip #8: In teleportation you can adjust aetherite ticket settings to make them auto-use-after-given-value (you can set the value, 1000 is recommended). Also know you have usually Vesper Bay tickets and that you can use them to instantly teleport there even tho there's no crystal there. You can also get there via the dock rather then take chocobo ride every time from the next door city.
As a sprout getting into Stormblood, this is super useful advice. I felt kinda ashamed that I kept going through MSQ only playing as SMN but I think you are right about not getting into multiple jobs all at once early on. I just wish I had played Scholar as I played Summoner as well, trying to get into it now at lvl 75 and I have no idea what I'm doing lol I also leveled Conjurer to get the Unicorn mount and I think I'd probably like White Mage more than Scholar, but ce'st la vie.
I'm glad that you acknowledge that "you will still find people willing to help" when speaking of mentors. That bad rep was earned early by losers whom wanted a gold crown over their head but didn't care about others..............and regardless of how many have been eliminated for that attitude the reputation still persists., which is bullshit since its hard to find a mentor with an undeserved attitude now days. Sure, they may not all be giddy and open to drop everything to help a novice but that's because of the grind Square Enix puts them through. Especially when working for the mount. You have to understand their view point as well. They sign up for mentor, have to complete every raid to the extreme and when signing up for mentor roulette they are put where the systems claims they are needed. A good 40% of the time it seemed I ALWAYS ended up with a level 50 sync'd extreme trial with people whom didn't know the mechanics.......so after wiping 10 times or more, it gets a bit disheartening as you can imagine. The 2000 dungeon runs you have to complete ends up being more like 4000 due to continuous wiping.......and it does'nt get any better once you get your mount either. The constant drudgery of helping people out, some with attitudes and short fuses of their own whom don't listen to you when you tell them the mechanics gets frustrating and wears on you quite a bit. SE did what they could to eliminate mentors in the past as there is absolutely NO incentive to continue being one, yet you have to keep qualifying to be one as new content comes out.
i started in SB, now have over 350 days of playtime and the game as changed a lot but ill give on tip....just do msq and blue quest...and dont stick to some blue quests...i almost had a relic weapon before i entrées hw...and this was before the free trial and such...i was almost max level(which was 70 back then) before i even entered sb... leave the side quests for leveling, and dont do EVERY blu quest.... like the relic weapons, i do own every ARR weapon now...but took ages of grinding at max lvl so pls dont do that untile after you finished the game
Game changers for me when I was new was (I play on controller) You can put a macro and sprint like in other games and you can just press the l3 button down to sprint /action sprint /mucin sprint I think it has to be on 98 or 99 there’s a video about it on TH-cam I recently discovered this one you can change the 3rd person camera angle I played all through arr to endwalker with my camera being too close to the ground so happy I found that out 😂 easier to dodge mechanics now too. Also enjoy more of the Ffxiv world visuals now. You can add a second hot bar on top of your original hot bar so you don’t have to keep flipping through your hot bars with L1 there’s a video about it on TH-cam I forgot how to do it myself You’re invincible right after you wipe just don’t press anything forgot how long it last too I think a lot of ppl know that one This is for new tanks ALWAYS expect the dps or healer to run ahead of you don’t panic and even if they grab trash just pick them up and keep it moving usually your team will stop right before the enemies so you can pick them up. Also SPRINT before you pick up trash your sprint will last longer than when you’re already aggroed and just sprint in general before trash I use to just do the normal jog picking up trash made me whipe a couple of times doing that (not being aware that you had to sprint) and also while you’re pulling use one mitigation if you do decide to jog and if you’re taking damage (I also said to sprint befor trash because when you run pass the trash far enough they cant do ANY damage to you which is actually really stress relieving playing tank. Use aoe to pick up trash Sprint Gap closer Aoe enemies Run to next mob Gap closer Aoe enemies Mitigations It may change in certain dungeons (Also don’t forget your tank stance at the beginning of anything you do playing that role) You can auto change targets closes to you after defeating a enemy it’s in your configurations I forgot which exactly (I forgot a lot of things lmao) New shield Healers cause I sometimes see some shield players say they guess when to put shields up the enemy on the enemies list has a bar that gets full right before they attack so make sure to put the enemy list somewhere you can easily see it. Focus target tells you too If you want to get into crafting level your gathers first no kidding you’ll want to get mats by yourself so you don’t have to spend money on the market to get the mats. start with alchemist if you feel too overwhelmed trying to level all of them at the same time I leveled mine one by one starting weaver was not a good choice at all 😂 I say alch because it’s one of the easier crafters to lvl imo not too many mats to get (not too expensive on the mb if it comes down to you needing to buy something on there) and you can get a good groove on how to level your crafters I started doing level quest but stopped because it was expensive ishgard restoration at the firmament is by far way faster and collectibles from 70-90 will get you there quick . (Yeah this changed from game changing tips to tips overall lmaooo) Tomestine gear is way easier to get than mb gear when leveling your classes if you don’t have the gil I think you can start getting them at lvl 50 someone correct me if I’m wrong For new MMO players this play style consist of a tank healer and dps 🟦Tank collect trash (enemies) keeps the boss distracted while dps does damage and healer heals every one 🟩Healer keeps the tank and the rest of the party alive (ALSO DOES DAMGE lol) 🟥Dps does dps they can also have party buffs (Don’t be like me playing dps and running ahead of the tank just grabbing trash thinking it was like any other game my ARR sprout days were ROUGH🤣🤣🤣🤣) You can turn mount music off In configurations You can use your retainers to sell things that you get to sell on the mb I didn’t know about that until mid heavenswards 💀 Healers aren’t the only ones with raise summoners and red mage I think can also raise you so don’t lose hope when you accidentally wipe to something with them in your party new healers. You can visit other worlds and get things way cheaper than your server if it is cheaper use universalis to check other servers markets on something you’re interested in. There’s a whole lot more I’m missing but this is already long enough if anyone comments they can add to this or correct me
"First time in a dungeon": WANDERER'S PALACE! RIP 😂Hope you enjoy getting Throat Stabbed I'm way past needing these tips, but I discovered you recently with your video about the Lalafell baby chair and loved your videos since then. Guess I just love your voice and humour. I would have loved to have you for Mentor when I started.
Dope video., I been playing FF14 on and off for about a year.... Im doing the free trail version for now . a lot of videos I've watch say you really should doe RR and HW rather than skip, but my brother who's already in Endwalker wants me to skip. I have a okay understanding of my character ( Lvl 43 WAR) , but I still want to learn the game and experience the story. Also I feel I need to learn to world more. outside of doing main story im kinda lost lol. any tips on what I should be doing for weapons and armor would be great.
Should probably mention that in some Novice Networks people do talk about the msq, so if you don't want a spoiler of the msq, maybe avoid joining it. Join a good FC instead, no shame in leaving if you happen to join one who don't suit you, and if you need help, a good FC usually will happily help you out. Some love to dote on and spoil their sprouts.
That Food Exp Buff always annoyed me. Yes, more Bonus is always welcome but it's so extremely small, also not affecting Quest or Roulette Exp, that those +3% (yes, plus. it's not a multiplier of 1.03) likely barely affect anything unless you deliberately just grind mobs and dungeons all the way through. Even then, Armory Bonus is +50% to 100% already, not to mention Rested and special Items. I am honestly entertaining the idea the real reason people keep recommending it anyways is more about supporting the Boiled Egg and Orange Juice Industries of Eorzea
One thing I never hear explained is these videos is the snapshotting of AOE's, it's huuh... Second nature to us veterans just like using sprint to get out of a tight spot is. It feels as basic if not more basic than that. :| To the sprouts who stumble on this video: AoE's will hit you if you stand in the AOE telegraph the moment it disappears, this might make you go "am I lagging ?" because you're clearly out of it when the effect/damage plays out. It can be jarring coming from other mmos, but at some point, your brain will get used to it and you will go like "aww shiet" when you see the circle disappears and you're still in it, cause you know you're getting slapped by it in the next few seconds. This works the other way around, you can walk in where the telegraph was after it disappeared, but before the effect plays out and be safe from taking damage, this can allow you to slip in a couple more abilities and do more damage than you otherwise would.
In Limsa if you go to the Arcanist's guild and to the left, you can talk to the airship guy on the right side wall and you can fast travel to the waking sands. Saves a bunch of time not having to always walk over to the Waking Sands from the aetheryte.
Just be aware that it's only available after you have your airship pass (which won't take most people too long anyway, but still it is a condtion)
....oop
You can WHAT
I thought it was a boat not airship?
It is a boat
@@PrincessofKeys wouldn't recommend this in raids as the mechanics get alottttt harder
@@ez336i still go in blind. In fact my fc does this WITH ME XD
I have never ever been yelled at for dying. Not even belittled. At *worst* I was roasted with positive connotation.
Respect
Back when I started (ARR) you kinda had to to do the sidequests to grind to the next level that would progress your MSQ. So yeah, I'd say if you have the time and patience, then doing the sidequests adds a lot to the world :D
I did the same. And same impression !
GIGACHAD
Thanks. I was wondering why she said skip them. Overleveling? I love knowing all the lore and always do all quests.
I've taken to going into first-person view when running around doing non-combat quests; all of the little emotes that NPC's do to you and toward other NPC's while you're talking to them and progressing your quests, their mouth moving as if they're talking while you're reading their speech bubbles, and just all the little details going on around me in the world that I never noticed, because I was zoomed out as far as I could go most of the time.
where is this setting
Related to both mounts AND the end of the video: you can turn off the altitude warning for flying too high in your settings. Handy if you find yourself in Outer La Noscea especially, but other areas where the ground is really close to the upper limit, too.
damn. I'm /playtime old without knowing that. I'm gonna turn that off as soon as I login
Thank you for that point about map aetherite. I always found them being covered to be one of the bigger minor annoyances in the game.
Wish I knew about hunt marks when I started
Casually pick up the easy daily hunt marks from the board and just go about your day since they dont have a time limit. Chances are youll run into your targets while youre out & about and theyll have a little (mandragora I think) icon over their head to say "hey, punch me into the ground" so no need to actively look for them if you wanted
Instructions unclear, playing a mage, beating it over the head with a book instead.
Not sure if this was mentioned before, but in the opening sequence of the game after you create a character, if you select the option of "make a fortune", the merchant will give you a ring with a little crafting boost.
I didnt get a ring
With the map open, hold Ctrl for the Aetherytes to pop up for easy clicking, no zooming in! (for when there are too many quest markers overlapping the crystal) Also, Ctrl + arrow keys to pan the camera!
A tip I recommend to newer players is to go to the armor vendors in major cities and buy gear in 5 level increments. Place it in your armory chest, then every five levels on your character you can just hit recommended gear and you will be wearing level appropriate stuff. Also, do the hall of the novice all the way through asap. You get a exp boosting ring for under level 30.
wish i'd known that back in my level 30 days lol
I have scho but never tried healers how actually do you change target iambic on console it is so slow
I messed up and leveled summoner to 90.... now i have no experience playing scholar lololol
Say for example /hudlayout 1-4
Layout 1 Combat
Layout 2 Crafting
Layout 3 Gathering
Layout 4 (Whatever you want)
I have yet to make mine good.
As a healer on the D-pad, toggling up and down select allies while left and right selects enemies. Good for dps and tanks too of course.
I've personally heard from people that wished they hadn't done it (buying a skip, or tow, aka both story and job skips)
Savor, cherish your sprouthood.
My advice would be things after you get a retainer:
- learn extract materia as soon as you're able. Materia I is still quite very useful on the game and it's a good way of making money as a sprout.
- the market board is your friend. If there's anything you have that's worth something, don't be afraid to put it on sale and/or undercut(as in selling your item with the lowest price)
You don't need to hoard anything. If you don't know what that item is for, you probably don't need to use it right now and you can get it easily later. That serves for items as well for gear.
/bgm turns off music. its much faster than searching for the vollume bar seperatly. its also cool if you wanna hear a podcast or something in the background :3
if you are going to level a crafters and or gatherers , I would recomend doing them all at the same time (as they feed off each other and can share most of the gear.) (i'm at 90 on all my doh / dols ) wish I knew this back in the arr days (beta) :)
also level up crafting with grand company missions and make 2nd lieutenant in no time
fyi for the food buff, you can in fact eat two pieces of food for a full 60 min which is the timer cap.
Squadron buff extends it further.
Spectacular tipps for sprouts, no important parts left out, really good job^^
Especially the invuln after getting revived is a thing that even a lot of endgame players dont seem to know... or they just ignore it because death 3 seconds after getting rezzed is fun... */shrug*
One hint I would give is: Unlock and use your retainers as soon as possible!
you are quickly becoming one of my favorite FFXIV channels

Thank you for this, I've been playing for 3-4 years now and I forgot how some of this stuff works. Especially the dark experience bar.
Why I've stayed with FFXIV: The Story and most of the community is super kind. There is rarely anyone super mean.
One thing I find a lot of people don't know is that if you die and the fight ends you can take the return to start and avoid the rez debuff.
I'd recommend levelling everything you plan to level at the same time cause some jobs share gear and also once everything hits a new milestone like 40, 50 etc you can sell all gear under that level and have a nice clean inventory ^^ also don't be afraid to just talk to people!!
As someone who cut their MMO teeth on the original EverQuest, hearing someone call FFXIV a "really old game" made me age another 10 years instantly. 😅
I wish I knew about holding down the Ctrl button to make aetherytes come to the foreground on your world map. It makes keeping up with Hunt Trains so much easier.
I accidentally found this out while trying to use one of my hotbar abilities while my map was opened and focused on, and I facepalmed so hard lol
Holding X to click through players changed my life when I finally learned it.
That mount music really helps! I’ve been wondering if there was a way to do that!
Yesss, I love opening TH-cam to a new AvyCatte upload >:)
I was always afraid of accidentally using the limit break myself as a castor, but I did realize that as well you had to aim first before using it.
I was playing on a new server on Light and I was shocked. People yelled, made fun of not informed players and expected to skip the cutscenes. Having played on a legacy world 2 years ago, I was used to people being SUPER nice. But it seems it either isn't the case anymore or new worlds attract tryhards that are weirdly rude..
yea the tryhards and the WoW refugees seem to have gone to the new DCs. The WoW players brought their mindset into this
@@TheamayaonnaotakuBlogspot Seem to be the case 😂
Thanks!❤
Thank you!
Your welcome ❤️
Some people will wait for you to finish a cutscene, others will nuke the boss and clear the fight before the cutscene is over.
And I was the sprout tank in that case.
We need more TH-camrs like her very entertaining content
I do turn off mount music when I do the MSQ, but NOT in Coerthas Central Highlands! That zone music makes me want to rip my hears off!!
back in old prae the most important thing a friend told me was to use numpad 0 to interact with the teleporters... saved me from a lot of deaths
I didn't know about the ressurect thing, thanks!:)
you know, one big help for boss battles is roll the camera back, i tend to play with the camera close, and you tend to miss some of the later attack telegraphs, so rolling way back really helps the visibility. i know on the new trails , it makes a massive difference seeing some of the cues.
You totally blew my mind with the sound effect when someone emotes to you!
I feel like this about joining random Party Finders, especially Savage/Extreme content, i'm glad that i found a nice FC to run with me.
but i still feel the same when i'm playing healer, since if i make a mistake and died is probably a wipe, but i'm trying to overcome this
Notifications for emotes to self is so genius !
3:21 I can’t breathe 😂
Your adventurer plate killed me!
I will definitely be turning on that notification for headpats, as a lala i get them a lot
I can relate to this a lot, I've used NN as a sprout myself, and later returned to help new sprouts when i could as a mentor on both EU-Twintannia and NA-Siren, and almost every interaction i've seen and been a part of on both servers has been fantastic... sure, most of the time, it's just a general place for people to hang out and shoot the shit until someone comes in with a question about something, but everyone is always happy to immediately help out in whatever way they can
*NONE MAY QUESTION THE BURGER KINGS! BLASPHEMY!*
04:40
There were way too many WoW refugees last time I used the Novice Network.
This also helps with not accidentally extracting the materia that's socketed in your gear.
your voice is SO Angelic ^_^
Also, another little thing to get more lore out of your game, is when u highlight a picture with your mouse on a mount or minion on the minion/mount selection menu, u will get some surprise comments about them.
Adding Limit Break to a hotbar is always a good one, and Skipping previously played cutscenes.
SE did what they could to eliminate mentors in the past as there is absolutely NO incentive to continue being one, yet you have to keep qualifying to be one as new content comes out.
omg i love all your glams ! and thank you for making this video ❤
I’m really loving my new journey in this game.
i started in SB, now have over 350 days of playtime and the game as changed a lot but ill give on tip....just do msq and blue quest...and dont stick to some blue quests...i almost had a relic weapon before i entrées hw...and this was before the free trial and such...i was almost max level(which was 70 back then) before i even entered sb... leave the side quests for leveling, and dont do EVERY blu quest.... like the relic weapons, i do own every ARR weapon now...but took ages of grinding at max lvl so pls dont do that untile after you finished the game
Tipp 11: When you use your mouse side-buttons you can put them with Strg or Shift on your hotbar too. This might solve some keyboard problems ^^
I didn't know about that buff after being resurrected, so that's very nice to know
Game changers for me when I was new was
(I play on controller)
You can put a macro and sprint like in other games and you can just press the l3 button down to sprint
/action sprint
/mucin sprint
I think it has to be on 98 or 99 there’s a video about it on TH-cam
I recently discovered this one you can change the 3rd person camera angle I played all through arr to endwalker with my camera being too close to the ground so happy I found that out 😂 easier to dodge mechanics now too. Also enjoy more of the Ffxiv world visuals now.
You can add a second hot bar on top of your original hot bar so you don’t have to keep flipping through your hot bars with L1 there’s a video about it on TH-cam I forgot how to do it myself
You’re invincible right after you wipe just don’t press anything forgot how long it last too I think a lot of ppl know that one
This is for new tanks ALWAYS expect the dps or healer to run ahead of you don’t panic and even if they grab trash just pick them up and keep it moving usually your team will stop right before the enemies so you can pick them up. Use aoe to pick up trash
Sprint
Gap closer
Aoe enemies
Run to next mob
Gap closer
Aoe enemies
Mitigations
It may change in certain dungeons
(Also don’t forget your tank stance at the beginning of anything you do playing that role)
You can auto change targets closes to you after defeating a enemy it’s in your configurations I forgot which exactly (I forgot a lot of things lmao)
New shield Healers cause I sometimes see some shield players say they guess when to put shields up the enemy on the enemies list has a bar that gets full right before they attack so make sure to put the enemy list somewhere you can easily see it. Focus target tells you too
If you want to get into crafting level your gathers first no kidding you’ll want to get mats by yourself so you don’t have to spend money on the market to get the mats. start with alchemist if you feel too overwhelmed trying to level all of them at the same time I leveled mine one by one starting weaver was not a good choice at all 😂 I say alch because it’s one of the easier crafters to lvl imo not too many mats to get (not too expensive on the mb if it comes down to you needing to buy something on there) and you can get a good groove on how to level your crafters I started doing level quest but stopped because it was expensive ishgard restoration at the firmament is by far way faster and collectibles from 70-90 will get you there quick .
(Yeah this changed from game changing tips to tips overall lmaooo)
Tomestine gear is way easier to get than mb gear when leveling your classes if you don’t have the gil I think you can start getting them at lvl 50 someone correct me if I’m wrong
For new MMO players this play style consist of a tank healer and dps
🟦Tank collect trash (enemies) keeps the boss distracted while dps does damage and healer heals every one
🟩Healer keeps the tank and the rest of the party alive (ALSO DOES DAMGE lol)
🟥Dps does dps they can also have party buffs
(Don’t be like me playing dps and running ahead of the tank just grabbing trash thinking it was like any other game my ARR sprout days were ROUGH🤣🤣🤣🤣)
You can turn mount music off In configurations
You can use your retainers to sell things that you get to sell on the mb I didn’t know about that until mid heavenswards 💀
Healers aren’t the only ones with raise summoners and red mage I think can also raise you so don’t lose hope when you accidentally wipe to something with them in your party new healers.
You can visit other worlds and get things way cheaper than your server if it is cheaper use universalis to check other servers markets on something you’re interested in.
There’s a whole lot more I’m missing but this is already long enough if anyone comments they can add to this or correct me
I spelled micon wrong here’s the right sprint macro
/action sprint
/micon sprint
"First time in a dungeon": WANDERER'S PALACE! RIP 😂Hope you enjoy getting Throat Stabbed
I'm way past needing these tips, but I discovered you recently with your video about the Lalafell baby chair and loved your videos since then.
I just started heavensward the story so far was really good, i enjoyed it, got a long way to go till endwalker.
One thing I never hear explained is these videos is the snapshotting of AOE's, it's huuh... Second nature to us veterans just like using sprint to get out of a tight spot is. It feels as basic if not more basic than that. :|
To the sprouts who stumble on this video: AoE's will hit you if you stand in the AOE telegraph the moment it disappears, this might make you go "am I lagging ?" because you're clearly out of it when the effect/damage plays out.
