Loving your podcast Nora. I've been putting it on my TV and listening while I knit. It makes me feel like I'm in a little knitting group. 😂 also....I've always also been an English knitter or "thrower" and hated ribbing for same reason. But in the last year I've taught myself Norwegian knit and purl. Total game changer! Once you get the hang of the Norwegian purl it's amazing. You don't need to move the yarn to the front! If you decide to try I watched Arne and Carlos videos and then cast on cotton yarn on size 9 needles and would just sit and do the knit for several inches and then would change to purl for another. It was meditative and also helped me find my tension and practice the motion to get the muscle memory. I would just leave it on the needles and pick it up between projects or when I just wanted to knit but something mindless. Now it's finally almost 2nd nature.
I totally relate to your comments about imagining the sweater already finished and in your wardrobe. I enjoy shopping for and buying the perfect yarn for a pattern. As soon as I have the yarn, I wanna wear it! I have too many sweaters living as bags of yarn in my stash. When I finally start one I have to constantly remind myself to enjoy the process and practice patience!
I’m not sure you could be part of the snail stitcher community given that you knit a full length dress in fingering weight yarn in just two months lol. Love your podcast!
Hahaa--it is wild to think of that! I honestly have no idea how I managed. Nothing better than a summer day with nothing on the schedule to go out and grab a coffee and just knit. I'll blame the weather! 😂 thank you for watching!
This is a re-watch for me (lazy day off, coffee/knitting) and I just picked up the subtle genius of the Tinkerbell sequence -- bigger and bigger and ultimately menacing. I'm on my third career (all have been successful) and Nora, if you ever feel like ditching what you do for something fresh -- investigate editing. Seriously. You're a natural.
I've been watching and thoroughly enjoying your podcasts. I'm not much of a commenter, but when you started the slow knitter's club, I had to jump in! I definitely belong to that club!
Omg I would be the same way in a test knit. I’ve been knitting for more than a decade and I still overthink things and assume I’ve messed something up. You’re too funny! 😂
LOL love the Ossie thumbs up at the end 😂👍 I did get to my selfish knitting and am working on my Pressed flowers shawl! I am able to see the finish line! I completed 4 out of my 5 colors and I am about 1/3 of the way into my 5th and final color!!! I am super excited i am making it larger and thus more stitches it's getting slower to go across my rows #snailknitting🐌 #snailknittingparty 🐌🥳
Hello Nora, just discovering you from Paris, France. I have enjoyed catching up all 7 episodes in a row! Looking forward to you wearing your sunny ranunculus. Take care. Marie
I enjoyed hearing your reasoning of how many projects on the needles are comfortable for you. I have several going at a time for various situations. Since I have some arthritis in my hands I am more comfortable switching between larger needles and smaller needles. Then there is a ballgame project where I seldom need to look at my knitting. Then a very portable project for car rides and waiting room times. Finally a more challenging project, learning and using a chart or new technique. Of course a quick knit for some instant gratification falls in there, too. More of a process knitter but like to have a couple finish goals in mind. Happy knitting
I am sure that once I get a few years of knits under my belt, I'll feel more relaxed about it. For now, I am just so excited to have the garments, but also MUST enjoy the experience along the way! I might throw together a little on-the-go knit for winter though! Seems like fun for something that has no real deadline! Thank you for sharing and happy knitting to you!!!
You’re videos are sooooo fun to watch! The fact you haven’t been knitting so long did make me say when you said you like to finish a project before you start another…”give that time…” I have many WIPS for my many moods. We all are like that 😂knitting projects take a long time and yes there are fast podcasters that start a sweater one week that’s done the next video and I’m like 😮 also sounds like you work so you can only do so much with your free time. You’re great and I’m so glad to watch you every podcast.
Thank you so so much! I always love the idea of many WIPS until they're actually on my needles 😂 I am fortunate that I have a flexible work schedule as a bridal hairstylist, but it's definitely mentally and physically exhausting. Sometimes it's hard to find the time to relax and also knit on a project, but I do my best to find balance! Thanks for being here 💛
Nora, I love your podcast! You have such a fun personality. You totally don't have to finish projects to keep us coming back! Your channel honestly feels like you've been doing this for years! ❤
Yay! Finally a club I can join - The Snail Stitches Club🐌I love your Podcasts! I only have 2 projects on the go, a vest top and a scarf!! I can't cope with loads of projects at once and usualy just have 1 thing on my needles, but I've been in and out of hospital having tests so the scarf was something easy I could knit while sitting and waiting to go for scan etc. 😃
Just love love love your videos 😂. You have such a great personality and infectious way about you! I’m hooked all the way from across the pond here in the UK 🇬🇧
Oh my goodness, thank you so much!!!! The internet is a wild and crazy place, but it is so incredible how it can connect us! Thanks so much for being here!
My spooky thing this week is a color work sweater. Using three colors in one row!! I got to the end of a row and was one stitch short in the pattern. I checked back and had dropped a stitch at the beginning of the row. Tinking back ( one strand was a sari ) was a real adventure.
😊❤ Always love your episodes! Congratulations 🎉🍾 on 3K+ subscribers!! It was so great to see your precious Pup IRL - TFS! Have a really wonderful weekend!
Thank you so much! I cannot believe we've come this far--I am incredibly grateful 🥰 It was only right to have Miss Osi celebrate the milestone alongside me. Thanks for being here!
Hello from a new viewer and subscriber! Thank you for keeping me company and sharing your experience with your test knit. I have to agree that there are times that it is a great community feeling depending on the platform that the test is run on. Your knitting and personality are beautiful and I'm excited to see what your plans are for the rest of the year.
Nora I love watching you and this podcast brought me so much joy from the very beginning. And then there was Osi! And Osi stole the show. 😉. Kidding (mostly). I am also #teamsnailstitches
Team Snail Stitches!!!! Also, Osi is adorable, and as a very non-monogamous knitter, it takes me sooooo long to finish things. I love that you appear every week to talk knitting without necessarily having FOs all the time!
Thank you Nora for sharing your feedback about how different test knits are run. It was very insightful! My previous test knits were run via email + google doc and I would definitely consider finding more of a forum situation for the next ones. Even if some testers did "email all", there definitely wasn't any sense of community. I see now how this can be appealing and reassuring to have. Also your editing is excellent 👌 does your day job have anything to do with video editing / graphic design, becaise you have some serious skills!
I’m glad that it can be helpful, thank you for listening! I am just a super creative person and love discovering new ways to make things! I have a little experience in editing for other hobbies, but it’s all just for fun! This is such a compliment, thank you 🥰
Okay I had my Saturday morning carton fix! 😂 Always so good to see you. Have you thought about doing a video on what you plan to knit through fall or winter season? That would be fun too. And I just have to ask, is that you singing in your intro? Did you make that intro? Both of them, the original and the Halloween one? Wow that’s a lot of questions. I am so curious. I’m a musician and that stuff also interests me. I played flute for 22 years, and the last 2.5 years I have been playing the harp.
Yayyy! I love it! Thank you 🥰 I am definitely hoping to post a video with my end of year knitting plans--hopefully early November! Indeed, you are right! The themes were made and sung by myself (and mixed by my lovely boyfriend) and I am hoping to keep it on theme for the seasons! I couldn't help but sprinkle a little music into this channel. I cannot imagine learning the harp, but it was my dream as a kid! That must be so fun! Thank you for noticing 🥰
Totally agree on Google docs.... Yarn pond is that middle ground for me people are on it but not 30 messages at a time for people who get overwhelmed by content ... But Instagram definitely a favorite if I want that community... Sometimes I just wanna go hermit into a hole so I find more than 1 Instagram test at a time would be a lot ..
I sooo agree with the google doc test knits!! I’ve enjoyed ravelry ones more than Instagram DMs, but Instagram ones are good too. They can just get overwhelming. Continue to love your podcast, fairly confident we’d be great friends in real life! You’re so down to earth, love it! Your dog is so adorable 😍
Hi Nora!! Just finding you through Kaci’s Rhinebeck highlights video. I enjoyed watching SO MUCH! I 100% agree with your comments on testing knitting style. I had a “professional” google doc test knit that o found to be quite miserable compared to the others that I’ve done. Actually I haven’t done a test knit since!! I think before I sign up for one again, I’ll reach out to people who tested for them previously and ask about their experience.
welcome to the party! I think that's a great idea moving forward. I am sure that there are people who love that format, but I kind of felt like, "why am I doing this?" lol
So adore your podcast… and would sit and chat with you anytime… ❤ and speaking of snailstitches… I am doing a half twisted rib on the body of a sweater and it feels so slow!! I will continue to push on but I think I only got 10 rows done this week and it needs like 32 … so will be a while…. And just wanted you to know I empathize…. Oh and great find with the bucket bag! I’m a bargain girl too…. Puppy ❤❤❤
Nora, I always enjoy your updates and personality - does reading Frankenstein qualify me, definitely out of my comfort zone, have always just watched movie.- keep up the good work, you do such a great job and get so much done!!🎉
I'm with you on the weightlifting thing... you gotta have some tension to know how to perform properly! I'm not sure I've encountered it with knitting, but I'm sure one day it will happen. Great insight!
My spooky project is a sweater for my SO. Trying to make something to fit someone other than me is scary! It's also an Andrea Mowry pattern, which adds to the spooky for me as I don't find the way she writes to be super intuitive for myself. It's slow going with a lot of tinking so far
I test knit for a sock designer when i first started knitting and assumed i was doing something wrong in knitting this beautiful color work sock but i noticed that the arch was way off in the decreases. I didn’t say anything because i knew “it had to be me” then ultimately an experienced knitter pointed out the decreases were actually missing. So…. It’s the only test knit I’ve participated in because i don’t have the confidence to call out what could be or is actually wrong. Lessons learned, yes?!?! Keep on being your lovely beautifully self assessing self! I’ve grown into a more confident and “I’ll just do what i think it should be” rather than what is actually written sometimes. 25:11
LOVE the pop up... so cute. Love your intro music (I know I've said that before).. and I wish I could join the spooky, but, right now I have to finish a project for a friend. Am going to do that soon, though. Snail stitches, LOL... love that. Can't wait for more videos.. sending love, hugs, prayers.
I’ve been watching since you’re first episode and am truly enjoying your enthusiasm and love of knitting! Also finally bit the bullet on the Ranunculus 😂 20,001 🤞🏻
Omg, Osi is beyond beautiful. I love that you said Saturday cartoon style for when your podcast is posted, because my little boy asked to watch Peppa Pig and in my head I went “yay! Nora Knits time for me” 😊. Love your new project bag, what an amazing deal and so stylish. Your test knit looks amazing as does everything your working on. Happy knitting 🧶💚🧶
Thank you so so so much! I love that you both can get your weekend kicked off with your own indulgence! That’s the way to begin the weekend! I am so happy you’re here 💛 so is Osi!
Thank you!!!!!! I am fearing the same, but I have accepted that it can be a big cozy cardi if that’s what winds up happening. But that is definitely good to keep in mind for sleeve length!
I was curious about your test knit, I hope it was something that was accepted since you mentioned one before was not. I would hope too that at least knowing it was something you yourself would enjoy using. Test Knit is an interesting easy of testing the designer and tech editor.
My Spooky stitch this month is knitting a double knitted button band, I've started on the Champagne cardigan and I'm dreading the moment where I'll have to do the button band but I'll make it through!!
The malabrigo yarn is on the website eat sleep knit for 25.00 14 are in stock as of today October 21, 2023. I love your podcast. Just a fellow knitting person trying to help. Have a great weekend.
Hi Nora! I've just discovered your podcast and wanted to let you know I've enjoyed watching the last couple of episodes very much, it's awesome! And thank you for sharing what's important for you as a test knitter. I am a knitwear designer and this was very valuable to hear. We've recently introduced Slack as the platform to run the tests and it has been very well received. If one day you see a design of mine you'd like to make, I'd love to invite you to join the test and hear your thoughts on your experience 🤩
Thank you so much for your comment! I was thinking something like Slack or Discord would be great options. I am heading to your page as we speak, and will happily climb aboard when I am up to another test knit! 💛
If you're a bit worried about yarn management - weigh the yarn before and after a full round - then you'll know how much you use per round and can estimate based on the weight of yarn you have remaining!
I was wondering if you have ever tried cubic knitting needles? They're square instead of round, come in both wood and metal :D if you haven't, I highly recommend trying if you're still looking for other options :D
I was just doing laundry this morning and realized I had your theme song stuck in my head (the spooky version) 😂💕 I know the Lykke is all about the chevron, but I'm in love with the lace - I suppose it would be fairly simple to just knit the sweater without the stripes? Do you have any thoughts on that?
Oh my goodness 😂 me all the time!!! I had actually mentioned in my last podcast I think that I would almost prefer the pattern without the stripes 😬 the stitch pattern is GORGEOUS and it is just striping, so totally doable to just no change colors. I’d love to see if you do it!
I had a fantastic experience testing for Magdalena Parker of Knitonomy. It's different for everyone, but I would 100% test for her again and can highly recommend it for the community experience.
My husband also has to hear all about my knitting and even randomly says knitting terms to me. 😂 Not sure he could try and problem solve with me though! I enjoy all your videos and keep on doing your thing 😊
Your podcast is so unique in the editing! No need to give up secrets, but I've got to ask, do you have a graphic design background or something or are these AI generated animations or something? You have such fun, imaginative stuff popping up and it's very impressive on the editing end!
Thank you so much! I enjoy a good poke around with editing software and genuinely enjoy challenging myself to try new animations and techniques! I do use a combo of ProCreate, AI, Canva & Adobe for my graphics! I highly recommend just playing around and see what you can come up with! Thanks for the compliment 🥰
That was definitely meant to be a project bag. If i saw anyone carrying that i would automatically assume there was yarn inside and then be properly mortified then they assumed i was a freak for asking them what was inside their purse.....😅
Yes, you are a super Podcaster. I watch because I don't behave anyone to talk knitting with. Also, not advanced, not fast and not tons of funds to buy really expensive yarns. I like knitting socks, I can affordably luxurious yarn for socks. So, keep on.
I have not been a test knitter before, but I have wondered the same thing when watching test knitters on youtube. Why does the test knit end the day before it goes live? It doesn't make sense to me for the exact reason you describe. Also, I am a monogamous knitter at heart.
It’s definitely a head scratcher. It adds a bit of pressure that makes you almost hesitate to bring up an issue last minute. I know everyone has a system that works best for them, I just think everyone would benefit from a few days in between. But that’s just my non-designer-not-educated-in-this-department opinion 😅
Seriously non of you says Korshavn correct, but why should you….halloooo you are not danish…so seriously don’t worry about it. But if you wanna learn I’m willing to help you 😀😀😀
Nora keep podcasting. Youre really good at it. Your personality and sense of humor and that little doggie that pops up ….😂. Take care.
Thank you so so much! 🥰🥰🥰
Great recommendation! I will have to give that a shot!! Thank you!!
Alright, found a new favorite knitting podcaster!! Perfectly nerdy, perfectly chatty! Love from Denmark 🙌
Yayyyy! Love to hear it 🥰 thank you so much!
Yes! I definitely need to practice some patience over here!
My spooky knit is I finally began knitting after years of being scared!!😊
My color work bat socks made it into the video!?!?! 😱 I’m honored 💕 I will say I’m no longer spooked my color work!
That's what I love to hear!!! I am so happy you conquered that one!!!! 👏
Well thank you so so much!
Hi Nora, I knit quite fast but am a slow knitter when it comes to finishing a project. So I guess I am a part of the slow knitters club 🙂
So glad I found you! I’m a slow knitter so it’s nice to know I’m not alone!
I've been watching and thoroughly enjoying your podcasts. I'm not much of a commenter, but when you started the slow knitter's club, I had to jump in! I definitely belong to that club!

I love that you caught that 😂 Yayyyyy!!! That series really is so gorgeous! 🐌🐌🐌
Yes! I am absolutely team #snailstitches! 🤣😂🐌🧶 the Lykke sweater is looking wonderful. And Osi is adorable!
Welcome to it! 😂 Thank you so so much! 🥰
Hello Nora, just discovering you from Paris, France. I have enjoyed catching up all 7 episodes in a row! Looking forward to you wearing your sunny ranunculus. Take care. Marie
Thank you so much, Marie 🥰
For now, I am just so excited to have the garments, but also MUST enjoy the experience along the way! thanks for another great podcast
Check out Thread & Maple for your needle organizer. I love mine and can’t wait to add another sheet for my fixed circulars.
They are so so gorgeous! I got to see them at Rhinebeck and they are definitely going on the wishlist!
Omg! Coolest project bag ever!!!!
I got so many compliments wearing it out over the week! It's fun to look for knitting accessories in the mainstream fashion world!
Okay I had my Saturday morning carton fix! 😂 Always so good to see you. Have you thought about doing a video on what you plan to knit through fall or winter season? That would be fun too. Totally! I tend to turn off my notifications for IG and then just check at my own convenience and that helps it from becoming too overwhelming!

Thank you for showing your super cute doggie! I love her!!! 😍🤗
I hate to give people more work, so I feel like I triple check in a test knit to make sure it's not just me! Glad to know I'm not the only one 😅
Just a shout out to say I love your podcasts. You are doing so well!!
I appreciate that so much more than you know. Thank you!
Ååhhhhh Osi is to cute 🐶🩷🩷🩷 hey from Denmark, love you podcast 😄
Thank you so much!!! Wow! Thank you for joining me!!!
Thank you so so much! You get that project done and then you will have to treat yourself to something selfish! Welcome to the snail stitches club 😂
Love your podcast - you are the best!
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
I’ve been watching since you’re first episode and am truly enjoying your enthusiasm and love of knitting! Also finally bit the bullet on the Ranunculus 😂 20,001 🤞🏻
😂 thank you so much for being here! What's another after 20,000? 😂
I like you even more now since you watch soccer. I am German but live in Colorado I kinda only watch the World Cup and love it
My boyfriend got me into it during the World Cup and I have no idea how I went so long without it! It is, by far, my favorite sport to watch!
It’s Osi.
@@dorisenderle5857 thank you!
Thank you so so so much! I love that you both can get your weekend kicked off with your own indulgence! That’s the way to begin the weekend! I am so happy you’re here 💛 so is Osi!
Just a friendly tip, I've just finished my petiteknit terrazzo slipover in lion brand fisherman's wool, and it grew dramatically with blocking ❤❤
Thank you!!!!!! I am fearing the same, but I have accepted that it can be a big cozy cardi if that’s what winds up happening. But that is definitely good to keep in mind for sleeve length!
I love the application of texture stripes rather than colorwork stripes. I have to try this.
Such a genius move, I wish I thought of it first! Definitely worth a shot!
Hope you get to wear your Ranunculus while the weather is mild but you can layer it over a button up shirt. I do that
great idea!!!
I will be right behind you with my Korshavn!
🐌knitting for sure 😊
It's a great club to be in! 💁♀️💁
Loved watching your podcast today and what a cute little doggo
thank you so much!!! 🐌
Love your podcast ! 😊🧶💕
The malabrigo yarn is on the website eat sleep knit for 25.00 14 are in stock as of today October 21, 2023. I love your podcast. Just a fellow knitting person trying to help. Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much!!!! So great to know!! 💛

Your Lykke is lovely 😍
Thank you!
I so enjoy your podcast. No FOs required!
Thank you so much!!!! 🥰
SnailStitchesClub!! Love your podcast. Its just a good time to hangout and I love hearing about what you're up to.
Thank you so much! Welcome to the club 😂 🐌
Such a great tip! Thank you!
Omg! Your dog is so cute ❤
Thank you! I know I am biased, but I think she is the cutest 🥰
I did the Steven West MKAL for the first time this year 😳
oooh spooky!!!
I was wondering if you have ever tried cubic knitting needles? They're square instead of round, come in both wood and metal :D if you haven't, I highly recommend trying if you're still looking for other options :D
You know, I haven’t tried any yet, but maybe next time I need a pair of fixed circulars I will give them a shot!
@@akaNoraKnits they also have interchangable options if you prefer that, but I believe they only sell those in sets :o
I was just doing laundry this morning and realized I had your theme song stuck in my head (the spooky version) 😂💕
I know the Lykke is all about the chevron, but I'm in love with the lace - I suppose it would be fairly simple to just knit the sweater without the stripes? Do you have any thoughts on that?
Oh my goodness 😂 me all the time!!! I had actually mentioned in my last podcast I think that I would almost prefer the pattern without the stripes 😬 the stitch pattern is GORGEOUS and it is just striping, so totally doable to just no change colors. I’d love to see if you do it!
Just wanted to let you know I am making a sweater that is K1P1 every other row. It is taking me FOREVER!
It is so tedious but it looks sooo good 😭
Osi is so cuteeeee!
Thank you!!! 🐶
Omg my best girlfriend is back! Lol I'm always so excited for your videos.❤
That’s right!!!!!! Girl time 💅🏻
Unfortunately, I’ve done many test knits and none of them felt like a community. I have stopped doing them for now.
I had a fantastic experience testing for Magdalena Parker of Knitonomy. It's different for everyone, but I would 100% test for her again and can highly recommend it for the community experience.
You are the best
thank you so much 🥰
❤❤❤
My husband also has to hear all about my knitting and even randomly says knitting terms to me. 😂 Not sure he could try and problem solve with me though!
I enjoy all your videos and keep on doing your thing 😊
My boyfriend asked one day, “why do I know what an Italian bind off is?!” 😂😂😂 thanks so much for watching!
My boyfriend asked one day, “why do I know what an Italian bind off is?!” 😂😂😂 thanks so much for watching!
Oh, yay! Does this make me a charter member of the Snail Stitchers?
😂😂😂 I'm right there with you!
😂😂😂😂😂 omg you are so right! It literally makes so much sense as a project bag vs. a purse!
Nora, I would really love to meet your dog and your boyfriend if that ever works out in your podcasting. I’m sure others would as well.
Yes, you are a super Podcaster. I watch because I don't behave anyone to talk knitting with. Also, not advanced, not fast and not tons of funds to buy really expensive yarns. I like knitting socks, I can affordably luxurious yarn for socks. So, keep on.
Team Snail Stitches woot woot

I have not been a test knitter before, but I have wondered the same thing when watching test knitters on youtube. Why does the test knit end the day before it goes live? It doesn't make sense to me for the exact reason you describe. Also, I am a monogamous knitter at heart.
It’s definitely a head scratcher. It adds a bit of pressure that makes you almost hesitate to bring up an issue last minute. I know everyone has a system that works best for them, I just think everyone would benefit from a few days in between. But that’s just my non-designer-not-educated-in-this-department opinion 😅
I’ve never been THIS early🎉
Sign me up for Snail Stitchers, for sure!!!
that snail needs to be an enamel pin!
Don’t give me ideas! 😅😂
🌴☀️ I’M 🤭FIRRRRRRST☀️🌴
Yasssss!!!! 👑
I am a very slow knitter and a monogamous knitter. I do better when I am knitting one project at a time.
Seriously non of you says Korshavn correct, but why should you….halloooo you are not danish…so seriously don’t worry about it. But if you wanna learn I’m willing to help you 😀😀😀
Hahahaha it's so true! I try so hard--I do love learning a language so you are always welcome to educate! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for the shout-out dear Nora ❤ @coconknits
Thank you for being you 💛
