I just want to say how much I enjoy watching your videos. You are so funny and I love that! After seeing video # 3 first I had to go back and binge the first 2 episodes to catch up. Today in my feed you were there with a fresh episode and it truly made me smile. Keep it up. I can’t believe you’ve only been knitting a short while!! Love all your projects!
This is so incredibly kind. Thank you so much!!! I didn’t realize how much I would love building this community. It’s so much better knitting with friends 💛 thanks for being here!
"not a yarn dyer yet..." hahahaha! The craziness of being a crafter, rabbit hole after rabbit hole. That ranunculus is going to be so worth the initial frustration!
Stumbled on your 2nd episode and 5 minutes in, I just had to go watch Episode 1 and binge through the 3 available at the time. I am really enjoying your podcasts. I came for the yarn content and stayed for the conversation & humor 🙂. Have a great day and I look forward to the next episode.
I watch a lot of knitting podcasts and am so glad to have found yours! It’s now my favorite! I love your energy and the fun you bring to knitting. Can’t wait to see your finished Lykke sweater 😊
Thank you so so much! We’re here to have a little fun and usually a bit of a laugh at ourselves 😂 thank you for hanging out with me and I cannot wait to see it either!!!!
Great episode! Was away on vacation so I’m just catching up with my podcasts. Your progress is great on the ranunculus, and I love Sari’s designs… that test knit will be beautiful, can’t wait to see! 😊
Your knitting is so tidy and beautiful! I can’t believe you are newish to the craft. AND you knit a dress!!!! Love your podcast and find myself looking forward to the next one. It’s so fun spending knitting time with you 🎉❤
Thank you! I really will just call it beginner's luck! I fell in love with the craft from the moment I picked up the needles, so I am glad to have made some friends who feel the same way. Thanks so much for being here 💛
Sari is really generous with testers and I’ve found her a lot easier to get into test knits than some others. Good luck I love her designs. Your Ranunculus is looking great ❤
I relate so much to what you said about not being a lace knitter. I am having so many issues with knitting the yoke for my Magnolia Bloom but I flew through texture knits! I love the repetitiveness as well. Looking forward to seeing the progress on the Lykke sweater, hopefully the mohair works!
Keep up the good work! Love how you take on challenges! Ranculus is coming alone. You've got a beautiful yoke. I just finished a first one that I am pleased with. Happy knitting
Awesome podcast! I found you today while home sick...and watched all 4 in a row while knitting on some socks. Socks are also a great mindless knit option.
I am sorry that you are sick but i Am so happy it brought you to us!!!! I have only ever started one pair of socks and it has been on the needles, untouched, since February 😂 I think I need to get through all of my dream sweaters before I get too into sock knitting. Get well soon!!!
Following your journey to see what sort of fit can be achieved from this pattern. Enjoying your episodes. Congrats on the test knit, another thing to follow, hope this combo works and gives you the subtle contrast
My LYS is Wool and Company in South Elgin IL. Huge store! I love it. They have a really wonderful wide variety of mohair and every other yarn you can think of. I've never seen cones there. Your ranunculus looks great. Glad it's coming together for you. I am going to cast one on after I finish the test knit I'm working on.
That sounds incredible! I am the kind of person who just wants a wall of mohair in every shade and every one in between! I have lucked out with cones in thrift stores and Webs is a great resource! It’s nice to just have all your yarn right there. Good luck with your test knit!!!!
Your Ranunculus is coming along so nice after all that trouble she was giving you before, it's nice that she's filially being nice to you and your new yarn LOL your test knit OHHHH I CAN NOT WAIT to see your striping come to play. i think it will look amazing when you add your second new color when putting the 2 strands together it will make its OWN color and i am really excited to see what that color will be and how it will look next to the main color..... Your puppy getting your yarn 😱I would of yelled, cried, laughed at the craziness of it all experiencing all the emotions in about 3.5 sec flat LOL after the shock of it all wore off then just as you did salvage every scrap i could and move on 👍 Thank you for taking me along with you on your knitting adventures and misadventures LOL .... oh and as for me I have one more baby blanket to finish crocheting up. BUT I am ITCHING to cast on a mosaic knit, the Pressed Flowerers Shawl in all the fall colors OHHHH ITCHING, but I need to finish up with this baby blanket because the gal its for will be moving and i want to make sure she gets it before she moves and if i cast on my shawl i don't know when or if i will be able to put it down 😳
Happy to be your knitting friend in Milford. You have me laughing out loud😂. My favorite yarn store is also the Yarn Barn! Currently knitting away on a Cumulus tee and an Elton pullover.
Omg such a small world! I love the fabric store in the Christmas Tree Shoppe Plaza there! Great bargains--thanks for hanging out and laughing with me! I'd love to know what yarn you're using for your Cumulus Tee! I've had my eye on it 👀
Just found your podcast (3) and had to go back for 1 and 2. Love your positive attitude and infectious laugh. I told my knitting friends to watch too. You inspire me to knit more
I can’t wait to see more of your Test knit - that texture is spectacular! So happy your Ranunculus is turning out well 😊 and of course, love your cardigan too (I love a good grey!) Congratulations on your growing subscribers 🎉 Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you so, so much! Sometimes you don’t even realize how gorgeous the things you’re knitting are until you see them on camera. I have to say, it’s reignited my love for these projects! Thanks so much for being here 🥰
You have great energy and are just so fun to watch. I love the idea of a low-contrast sweater and can not wait to see how it turns out. Happy knitting! 💚🧶💚
“I’m not a yarn dyer…yet” lololol same 😉 hope the mohair works out like you are envisioning! I like the low contrast idea, I’m sure it’ll turn out beautiful!
Hi Nora, I also totally love the yarn combination on Rebecca's caridgan and am looking forward to seeing the progress on your sweater in the next podcast. Happy knitting to you too! Sandy
I'm so excited that I found your podcast, your energy is so fun and adorable ❤ also, I can't believe how fast you knit 😮 you are speedy!! Keep up the awesome work, good luck with the test knit - it's beautiful!!!! - thanks for sharing! can't wait till next week
OMG I love love your podcast it’s so polished and professional you are very funny also. Got to say favorite podcaster and I watch a lot of them. Love your style and choice of projects I’ll stop gushing now see you next week 🙌🙌🏻
Can you show us your dog? I love the cute little graphics you add to your videos, but I also love to see people's pets. Love your channel! It's my new favorite!! ❤
I am so glad that I found you. Bonus is we are the same size. You are the best! Still nervous about the ranunculus because I am an overthinker. Plus wool is a little pricy here in New Zealand - we love to send all of our good stuff - wool, lamb, fish - out into the world. Just as an indication I’ve bought my wool for my ranunculus from Norway and even with postage it was cheaper than buying it here. Inversely I bought Norwegian wool for a colour work (another scary journey) jersey from a New Zealand store so funsies!
Kutovakika just posted a cardigan tutorial today that includes a ounce knitted button band I haven’t watched it but have watched other tutorials of hers and she does a good job. I think it’s called the Darling Cardigan
I am loving watching your ranunculus journey. I've been kinda wondering about that pattern too. It almost seems over-hyped, but I am about to swatch for it with a DK weight boucle yarn and crossing my fingers. It'll be my first garment with indie hand-dyed yarn I got from a fiber festival so it's pretty special. I love that you look for good deals on yarns because I'm the same way. I love to knit, but not to spend too much money on yarn. Good luck on that gorgeous Lykke pullover!
Oooh you’ve peaked my interest! Please keep us posted on how it goes!!!!!!! I’ve always been a deal hunter! It kind of makes the yarn hunt that much more fun, and the occasional splurge even more rewarding! Thanks for joining me 💛
I omitted the front German short rows just finishing my first ranunculus. Knitted size 7 dk 5m needle for 40in bust .can't wait to do a short sleeve version completely converted
After your last podcast, I found some yarn from my stash and started to cast on a Ranunculus of my own. And guess what.... the neck was too small. LOL. So I ripped it out and started again after adding a few more stitches to the cast on. I am using the smaller neckline instructions. This time I think the neckline will fit. BUT I have some serious laddering at the join for the round. So now I am pushing myself to start over again instead of setting it aside to work on something else.
😂😂😂 i love that we’ve had the same issue. It’s so annoying to rip out but always soooo worth it in the end! Nothing a few deep breaths and focus can’t fix! Good luck!!!! You got this!
I just love your videos! Your Ranunculous is beautiful. I love that you stuck with it. What size needle are you using? I love the fit of yours, I have been wanting to knit one, but I don’t want it super baggy. I have fingering weight yarn and bust is 39ish.
Ohhhhhhh your Ranunculus looks great!!!!! I think I will try one more time after the holidays. Doing holiday/ birthday knitting 🧶 once again great podcast 👏👏👏👏
I really do love the way it's turning out! I think the yarn really makes the project. DO TELL what kind of fun special cast on you get up to! Thank you for being here 💛
You mentioned thrifting yarn and showed what you purchased recently. I would love to know more about how you got into that. I'd be interested in trying the same thing where I live! Love the podcast:)
I'd love to share more about it! So far, I've discovered that it's best to pop in as frequently as you can. I know where each store keeps their yarn so I can be in and out in a matter of seconds! It really is fun to hunt!
I am happy to find your channel on yt! 😍 u r really funny and natural, i like your charisma and the way you talk 🥰 but whyyyy is your ranunculus sooo gorgeous i want to knit one too 🫠🫠
Thank you sooo much! This is so sweet 🥰 I have to agree with you! She keeps surprising me with how pretty it is when I see it on camera! Join the party!!!
Wow, your tubular cast.on looks so neat! What a journey you took for the ranunculus 😅I hope it will be smooth sailing from now on for you. I would encourage trying out every textured stitch before starting the garment in a swatch. I find it gives me the courage to go into the project with confidence.
Thank you so much! I kind of love that I just skipped past it the first time I knit this and now I have the proof of progress. To be honest, I was shocked by how neat it looked myself 😂 beginners luck! I will definitely take that advice into future projects!
I just completed my first Ranunculus. I too struggled like you did initially. I chose a cotton yarn and that had absolutely no give. It would not go over my head. After a couple more combinations of needles and number of cast on stitches I decided to change my yarn. So now I have made it with DK merino. But I am not giving up. My next one is going to be with the cotton yarn after doing a load of Math to make it work. I love your podcasting style and graphics that pop up in between. Have you sung the opening song for the title? It sounds very nice. Happy knitting 🧶
Sometimes it just takes a little trial and error! I’m sure the cotton one will work with the right approach! Thank you so much, and I definitely did ☺️🎵 thanks for noticing!
You are a good one for doing all of that math for the ranunculus because I would've been quit 😂😂glad it's finally going well for you though! I'm part of the group of people who doesn't understand the hype of it haha totally love the content and your editing, I can't wait to see more! 🤗
Yarn undyed will have off white kid silk, they also have brushed alpaca silk, I have bought the alpaca, it lovely, it all undyed wool for dyers but you can buy a 5 pack or just one.
I must paws to say that you have me in stitches more often than knot, Miss Nora! 🤭😉 I was going to comment on your last podcast...your first, second, and third Ranunculus were my Purl Soho Half and Half Triangle Wrap. I admire your perseverance and stick-to-it-edness! My 1/2 and 1/2 are still not speaking. (I honestly think I just need to use wooden needles versus metal...but we will just let her stew a bit yet.)
The double knit button band had me remember a video recently posted by Kutovakika. Just put that string of words I quoted below into google, and you will find a link to her cardigan tutorial with the said button band on her youtube channel. I personally havent watched the cardigan tutorial but I reckon she would be worth a look in. "Darling Cardigan Knit Tutorial w/ Double Knitted Buttonband"
SO SHEDY! But I don’t even care. I cannot even explain how much I love the combo of the Jaggerspun 2/8 Heathers with the Alpaca Silk…..I’ll certainly use it again!
Just found your podcast, and I love it. My dog loves to steel my yarns and usually the most expensive 😅 I knitted Ranunculus last year for the first time and I didn't enjoy it at all... many greetings from Europe
Hi. I’m a new viewer and I want to let you know I love your production. All the little edits are so cute and I know that takes a lot of time. I wanted to suggest looking into Drops Kid Silk in their beige color. I know you are on a time crunch, but that might match more. I have used that color and it’s a very lovely color. I do love your light contrast for the Lykke and I might need to remember that for a striped sweater in the future. 😊
HI Nora! Ilove webs, I'm only about an hour away and its my favorite to shop at. Im so glad to hear your thoughts on the Ranuculous, i have not made it, but I also wondered what all the hyppeis about and what about it made it rise to rockstar status. I absolutely love you vidios, i sit and knit while watching. So happy to have found you! And thank you!!
I wish I could remember the exact one, but I want to say that it was the Brooklyn Tweed tutorial-at least I know that their Italian bind off tutorial was my favorite so I’m sure I at least started there. Good luck!!
Hi Nora! I believe Florence of Handmade by Florence has a very good tutorial on how to add a double knitted button band on her channel, she's a great teacher!
A bit over the top and very fake! You'd think she's trying out for a play. Chill just a bit. It took away from the REAL reason for the podcast. I've never been able to handle FAKE people. Just be yourself.
Great idea if it was further back or trickier yarn to frog, but it was actually a comically quick fix to get back to where I was! Problem solved and easy peasy frogging the 100% wool!!
WEBS is always a go to for me because they have so many options! I hope the Lana Grossa works out for you. It's lovely even if you aren't convinced because it wasn't exactly what you were hoping for. If you are still looking, maybe a more camel color?
I could get lost in that store all day--it's definitely good to go in with a goal! I did entertain a camel option! I think I got too invested in the all-white look. 😬
In my exp, the double knit button bands are slow, finicky, and annoying. Especially hard to find the patience for them when you are SO CLOSE to finishing! That said, it is beautiful and so worth it and you’ll be glad you did it. 😊
I have heard the same! I'm hoping that by then, I'll be so far into the depths of my Lykke that I wouldn't mind something slow and boring lol. FIngers crossed!
🌴☀️You have a project where you want to do a double knit button band…watch Kutovakika’s recent video titled “Darling Cardigan Knit Tutorial” towards the end of the video it’s quite pleasant how she demonstrates it☀️🌴
It isn’t that I find crinkling “offensive,” it is that my horse kicked me in the face twice. My lower jaw blew out of my ears. The joints and teeth literally exploded. When I woke up from my medically necessary coma two weeks later, they were still flushing bone fragments from my ears. Now, I am legally blind and can only watch TH-cam on my iPad Pro. Unfortunately the speakers are broken and I have to listen through earbuds. The crinkling feels like an explosion and I resent creators trivializing this. So my opinion is to not watch.
Your videos are so fun, Nora! Thank YOU for keeping us company while we knit!
I am so happy to hear that 🥰 thank you so much!
I love the look of a single tone/ color/ shade sweater that has texture! That test knit is going to be awesome. Hope that mohair makes it PERFECT!
I hope it’s exactly what I picture! I am so with you!!!
I just want to say how much I enjoy watching your videos. You are so funny and I love that! After seeing video # 3 first I had to go back and binge the first 2 episodes to catch up. "not a yarn dyer yet..." hahahaha! The craziness of being a crafter, rabbit hole after rabbit hole. That ranunculus is going to be so worth the initial frustration!
For real! 🐰 I am really excited to have my finished project!!!
Stumbled on your 2nd episode and 5 minutes in, I just had to go watch Episode 1 and binge through the 3 available at the time. I am really enjoying your podcasts. I came for the yarn content and stayed for the conversation & humor 🙂. Have a great day and I look forward to the next episode.
well thank you so much for hanging out with me! 🥰

Love the flutter sleeve idea!
Great episode! Was away on vacation so I’m just catching up with my podcasts. Your progress is great on the ranunculus, and I love Sari’s designs… that test knit will be beautiful, can’t wait to see! 😊
Thanks so much! 🥰
Your knitting is so tidy and beautiful! I can’t believe you are newish to the craft. AND you knit a dress!!!! Love your podcast and find myself looking forward to the next one. It’s so fun spending knitting time with you 🎉❤

Sari is really generous with testers and I’ve found her a lot easier to get into test knits than some others. Good luck I love her designs. Your Ranunculus is looking great ❤
Thanks so much! It’s so interesting seeing all of the different test knit experiences. Good thing I don’t mind a deadline!!
I love how your knitting journey is evolving. That Lykke sweater is going to be amazing with the boucle!
Thank you! I can’t wait to see it come together 🥰
Keep up the good work! Love how you take on challenges! Ranculus is coming alone. You've got a beautiful yoke. I just finished a first one that I am pleased with. Happy knitting
Thank you! 🥰
The color of your ranunculus is gorgeous! And it is looking amazing!
Thank you so much! I really do love it!
BUT I am ITCHING to cast on a mosaic knit, the Pressed Flowerers Shawl in all the fall colors OHHHH ITCHING, but I need to finish up with this baby blanket because the gal its for will be moving and i want to make sure she gets it before she moves and if i cast on my shawl i don't know when or if i will be able to put it down 😳
Thank you so much for hanging out with me!!! I love the look of that whole pressed flowers collection!!! I hope you get to it sooner than later 💛
I've had my eye on it 👀
You are so fun to watch and I love your "full disclosure" attitude!
I am almost authentic to my own detriment! Here's hoping my transparency can help someone else out. Thank you so much for hanging out!
Just found your podcast (3) and had to go back for 1 and 2. Love your positive attitude and infectious laugh. I told my knitting friends to watch too. You inspire me to knit more

I love it 😂 thank you for laughing with me! It is wild what a change in needles and a little determination Can do !!!! Keep us posted!
Wood to metal needles will change your gauge as well. Wood is usually a tighter guage.
OMG I knit my 2nd Ranuncuus with Jaggerspun 2/8 Heathers! I LOVE that yarn. It's soft but woolly. I do find it sheds a lot but it's still lovely!
SO SHEDY! But I don’t even care. I cannot even explain how much I love the combo of the Jaggerspun 2/8 Heathers with the Alpaca Silk…..I’ll certainly use it again!
Did you omit some pattern rows in your ranunculus? My yoke looks a lot deeper.
My gauge is very much off which is why the yoke appears to be shorter. The raglan increases should bring it to the proper depth for my size!
lovely podcast 😊
I was wondering what filming equipment (camera etc) do you use?
Thank you!!! I use a Sony a6400 with a Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 & a Rode shotgun mic for audio!
Just found your podcast, and I love it. My dog loves to steel my yarns and usually the most expensive 😅 I knitted Ranunculus last year for the first time and I didn't enjoy it at all... many greetings from Europe
It’s like they know it’s their fuzzy friend! I’m glad I’m not alone ! Thanks for joining us! ☺️
Thank you so much for this!!! 🥰 I appreciate the recommendation and will definitely have to check that one out in the future!
You look beautiful I . Incidentally there is a complete tutorial by Sundragon knit owner Rebeca . It is really helpful.
Love your podcast! From another CT knitter ❤️
Love to hear it! Thank you!!!!! 💛
Thank you so so much!!!! Such a good store! I can't wait to get back!
Hi Nora! Your tubular cast on is absolute perfection! What tutorial did you use for it?
I wish I could remember the exact one, but I want to say that it was the Brooklyn Tweed tutorial-at least I know that their Italian bind off tutorial was my favorite so I’m sure I at least started there. Good luck!!
Lordy girl, I did the German short row. Much easier than the wrap and turn.
Love your podcast Nora! Is it you singing the intro? If yes… wow!
Thank you so much! It sure is 🥰
Hi Nora! I believe Florence of Handmade by Florence has a very good tutorial on how to add a double knitted button band on her channel, she's a great teacher!
Thank you for the recommendation!
I am also looking for this for a cardigan in process, so will check out Florence's guide. Thank you! :)
@@akaNoraKnits you're welcome!
@@juliao9146 glad to be of help! ;)
On petite knits website she has a video… and handmade by Florence here on TH-cam has a tutorial…. Heather
Thank you, Heather! I heard that Florence did too, but perhaps I should check out Petite Knit's!
The joy you have is so sweet. All your wips are are glorious. Such a fun and funny podcast. Knit 🧶 on Girl!!
Thank you so much!! 🥰
A bit over the top and very fake! You'd think she's trying out for a play. Chill just a bit. It took away from the REAL reason for the podcast. I've never been able to handle FAKE people. Just be yourself.
Love your energy and your voice ❤❤❤ great podcast, new subscribe 🎉
Thank you so so much!!!!
I might be too late, but have you considered doing a duplicate stitch over the short basket weave instead of ripping back?
Great idea if it was further back or trickier yarn to frog, but it was actually a comically quick fix to get back to where I was! Problem solved and easy peasy frogging the 100% wool!!
WEBS is always a go to for me because they have so many options! I hope the Lana Grossa works out for you. It's lovely even if you aren't convinced because it wasn't exactly what you were hoping for. If you are still looking, maybe a more camel color?
I could get lost in that store all day--it's definitely good to go in with a goal! I did entertain a camel option! I think I got too invested in the all-white look. 😬
My LYS in New Haven tends to not have a lot of mohair either!
so weird!! we need to change that 🤔
Loving your podcast. And you are stunningly beautiful! That’s all.
Omg thank you!!!! 🥰 thanks for hanging out!
I often tell my little 12 pound girl that it’s a good thing she is cute. She can be a rascal. 😊
My cats only try to eat yarn with alpaca in it. Maybe your dog likes alpaca too. 🦙🧶
I think that’s the case!!
Giggly today🤭
🌼🏵🌺 Нора. все очень интересно!
Lana grossa is really great.
It is so super soft--I just wish they had more photos of their colors in different lighting online
😍❤❤❤
🌴☀️You have a project where you want to do a double knit button band…watch Kutovakika’s recent video titled “Darling Cardigan Knit Tutorial” towards the end of the video it’s quite pleasant how she demonstrates it☀️🌴
Thank you!!
so, are you thinking it is hype?
I am so torn! I don’t know that I’ll be able to say for certain until I have my finished object!
And hobbii may have off white mohair kid silk
It isn’t that I find crinkling “offensive,” it is that my horse kicked me in the face twice. My lower jaw blew out of my ears. The joints and teeth literally exploded. When I woke up from my medically necessary coma two weeks later, they were still flushing bone fragments from my ears. Now, I am legally blind and can only watch TH-cam on my iPad Pro. Unfortunately the speakers are broken and I have to listen through earbuds. The crinkling feels like an explosion and I resent creators trivializing this. So my opinion is to not watch.
