Finally, more bikes under 500cc are rolling in, and the big players like BMW and KTM are stepping up with the new F450 GS and 390 ADV R. The future’s looking good for us riders, with more choices and tougher competition between brands. That’s a win for everyone who loves to ride. Meanwhile, China’s making serious moves and could be where Japan is today in just two years. Seems like Japan's been snoozing on bringing fresh bikes under 500cc to the table.
Exactly - it's all moving pretty quick right now! It's nice that it's all becoming more accessible, if only the insurance would sort itself out - many of us seem to be paying half the bikes worth every year just to be on the road. Thanks for coming by dude.
Great video. 👍🏼 Collecting my MT tomorrow. Really excited. Had to go with the grey colour scheme to get the gold forks. I like the little touches for a bike of this price. Folding gear and brake levers. One touch ABS/traction control. Adjusting the screen on the move. And the one that never gets mentioned is the few 'sprocket teeth' down at the end of the swing arm to hang the chain on when the rear wheel is removed. Brilliant.
Thank you dude. I am excited for you!! I never knew about the teeth, I'll be sure to check this out tomorrow, thanks for the heads up on that little nugget!
We've already got the mapping in Aussie, there so many accessories for it too, but gotta remember it's a 450cc not a 700cc and bikes are not made for each individual person, uv got to make it yours. It's 192 wet weight, u don't have to stop either to change the ABS. Have fun 🇦🇺🤘
Im yet to figure out the ABS when moving - is there a shortcut? Will check this out tomorrow! We have to wait for the mapping, although will enquire again when it's in for 600 miles. Thanks for coming by amigo!
Tested this bike along with others at Nathan Millwards " Dorathys Speed shop and had a great day riding country roads. The 450mt was above all else. The 450 Himi was faintly buzzy at 50 mph so I would be guessing at 60 + this would gradually be amplified. The CF certainly has a musical engine super smooth but I think touring long distance, ear plugs are a must along with a 15 tooth front sprocket to bring down revs 4/500 or so. Will order one for April delivery. Big back orders for these beauties. Guess if you have one and dont like it you could presenly sell one for £500 squid more than you bought it for coz of the wait list !!
Hey James! Thank for coming by the channel dude. What a dream, Ive checked out some of Nathans videos, absolutely love them. Ear plugs are always a must on the highway - the wind is far louder than the pipes! I find the buffeting that comes off the stock screen on the MT at 60+ is insanity for me being a 6ft1 guy. The front sprocket is a nice idea. Ive ridden the Himy for a good 500+ miles - I really enjoyed that bike on the longer rides, the issue for me was the shape, weight distribution and the power in the lower revs - it just didn't feel right for letting it rip on dirt. Excited for you mate!
I’m in the process of planning my A2 license and wondering what bike to get. Kinda was going between the CF Moto and RE Himalayan…. I’ve been watching dozens of bike reviews. Probably going with the CF Moto. Stumbled across your channel and subscribed. I really like your vlogging style and flow! Keep up the good work!
I looked at CF back in June, but stuck to Royal Enfield and changed my 411 to a 450.... absolutely banging bike on trails.... the CF does sound nicer mind.... the bit that swayed me is Royal Enfield is so well established....I am very dubious of Chinese reliability down the line after the honeymoon period
There’s a guy on TH-cam that’s put 10k on it already - all seems well, although I haven’t had chance to properly check out the channel yet! I’ll be honest, my RE had issue after issue, but all fell under Warranty so I was covered. So on the flip side, that put me off the Himy - but it is a lovely bike and this is just one guys experience - I know many have had no issues at all! Hope you are enjoying man!
@Papanchasonline yes it's great.... done 2k miles so far on it... got 2 other REs and had 5 in total... not had 1 problem on any... you must of had a poor interceptor
The Cotswolds are beautiful - the lanes are pretty easy breezy, great place to take this bike out for a cruise along. It sounds lovely, thumps, yet nothing too intrusive for hitting the countryside.
Awesome little bike! I just swapped from an Interceptor myself to the bigger brother ibex800. Haven't seen the 450mt yet in the US but definitely something I wanna take for a test myself too
@@Papanchasonline had it for about 3 weeks and just hit 1000miles and did my first oil change within the time limit. it had the jerky throttle at first but was easy to fix. it's been such a great bike. love the looks of it, sounds great (the 450mt does sound even better with the 270 crank ;) it's been great on the road and long miles.. so far hasn't felt to heavy for easy of-road so all in all after the Interceptor which was super fun but just a little to small overall, the Ibex has me smiling so much. As for the brand CF-Moto i'm not too scared of long terms. they have been around for quite a while with their ATV's and side by sides and such. and them working together with KTM and just signing a contract with Yamaha I think we'll be fine. I think you made a great choice with this between the new Himalayan and the 450MT.
Did you do this yourself? Ive been told it has to go to a mechanic / dealer for the services to keep it within warranty - but maybe this is misinformation. Really glad you hear you are enjoying it, it's a reassuring comment to read!
@Papanchasonline at first I followed a step for step guide to reset the throttle position sensor. you can do this at home to pretty much reset the throttle. Im sure both the 450mt and ibex800 share the same or similar throttle by wire system. I followed a video of "MJTech" on TH-cam called: Throttle Mapping FIX - No Tools. Worth the try. And if you're using the cf moto ride app. You can check there to see if you have any updates. As long as your phone is on wifi and the bike near wifi you can do the updates at home too and all within warranty. I had an update done at the dealership when they were putting my panniers on but guaranteed me that if I had done it at home, it would be within warranty

I'm grateful to Chinese manufacturers CFMoto and Kove for trying to sell us lightweight off road oriented ADV bikes with enough power for highway use. We've begged the Big Moto cartel for a bike like that for decades and they told us to pound sand and buy their bloated and expensive mid and full size adventure bikes. Now, BMW is forced to sell us the F450GS.
Thank YOU! I’ll have to come over and check out your channel, looks up my street. In comparison to the Himy, not at all. It’s taken me a few runs to get used to this thing off the tarmac, a little different to riding what I’m used to which is MX - but it’s been a dream. Great little bike for touring on I’m sure… will put it to the test long distance next year.
That’s the only thing I can not get used to at low speed is the throttle but as you say it can be fixed I traded my himmy 411 in for the mt and I am blown away with it have you put some silicon in the tops of the front engine bars cos they collect water in them
Hey mate! Yes its jerky as hell, not fun when you are riding around stood on the pegs, its far more work than it needs to be... I have not, although mine doesn't yet have engine bars, or does the frame itself have holes in it?
I really am thinking of getting one of these, but all the blown head gaskets on the 450ss and 450nk have me second guessing it. I think they may have reduced the power a bit on this version of the engine which might make it more reliable
@ in my country it’s a 3 year warranty only if you get it serviced at a CFMoto dealership, which I don’t have close by, so warranty drops to 2 years for getting it serviced at a non CFMoto dealership
Im glad I went CF... BUT the Himalayan is also lovely. I'd say it's better suited for longer distance riding for sure... better on fuel too... just isn't quite as fun. I will try do a video on my feelings toward each at some point!
Saying that - the clearance on the CF isn't extreme... Ive never ridden the Vstrom so cant comment but I can say I really am enjoying the CF. Im pretty sure you'd save yourself a fair bit of weight too
