Freewing Banshee - 6 cell upgrade
Freewing 2500kv 64mm fan item #FWE7209 at RC Castle
    80 amp hobby wing esc
    Thrust test
    00:00 - 1800 120c 6 cell - flying weight 1226g made a peak of 1724g of thrust and settled in around 1625g.
    00:30 - 2200 70c 6 cell - flying weight 1280g made a peak of 1745g of thrust and settled in around 1670g.
Not in video - 2700 70c 6 cell was also tested and made similar numbers to the 2200 pack
00:55 - First flight 2200 pack. Fun to fly and well
    Balanced
03:50 - Second flight 1800 pack. Felt faster and more nimble than the 2200 pack but shorter flight time.
06:08 - Third flight 2700 pack. Noticeably sluggish on control surface response. Fast and long flight.
1800 pack was the most enjoyable flying for me. Never flew the plane in stock form, this was the maiden flight. Great model, instantly one of my favorites.

what size esc and were did you get that launch contraption , does it work on any plane i could save alot of landing gear using that

I put an old 80amp Hobbywing on it, works great but I’m going to switch it to an Avian esc so I can have thrust reverse.
I made that launcher 15 years ago out of pvc pipe and it uses a 3/8” x 100’ bungee cord. I’ve launched big 90mm edf jets off it and small 50mm jets as well. Any plane I have that is tricky on a hand launch gets launched off this launcher. They go up straight and easy.

That is awesome! Could I just buy the appropriate KV motor and fit to the fan unit, or does it require upgrading to a 64MM 6S assembled fan unit? I didn't know if the 4s fans can handle the extra RPM's? Subscribed! Hope to see the GPS read out some day -:)

Motion Rc sells the 2500kv motor.

My buddy swaps the motor into his existing fans.
I was able to buy the complete edf from RC CASTLE but they don’t have them anymore.

I don’t know but it’s pretty quick. I’ve got a couple spektrum gps’s on order but they are back ordered at the moment. Once I get them, we’ll learn the speed.
