    09:30 : Maiden Flight - 10s 3600mac SMC HV
    Had 8 flights today with the Viper….what a fun and easy plane to fly. Jumped right into the Viper 90 club with a hot 10s set up and the Jet showed me a really good time! All 8 fights were on 10s. 4400 packs give around 3 minutes of high speed flight, 3600 packs allowed for around 2 and a half minutes of high speed flight.
    Definitely a great plane to have in your lineup 👌🏽

    Finally a video with thrust testing and you list specs! Love it! I thrust test all my planes and feel sorry for my neighbours when doing so! Was the timing at 5° for all the testing? 10s 1500kv viper im at 145A. 9s 125A. I think the sweet spot is 9s. Whats the total voltage with them HV packs at 9s and 10s? Cheers. 🇬🇧

      @ILLSMOQ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah buddy! Information we want to know right? All testing was done at 5 degrees. 9s voltage on fresh packs is 39.15 volts…10s fresh pack voltage is 43.5 volts…with high voltage packs, I think it’s less about max voltage and more about capacity with a lighter weight pack.

    Very cool video, and I'm a E-flight Viper 70mm flyer for now. I love it, but you have to keep your eye on it because it's small and will wing stall suddenly on slow turns. I want to move up with its big brother this Viper 90mm here, but a fellow flyer of mine owns an FMS Futura V3 80mm EDF and swears by it. I've never flown it, but I hear good things about the Futura.

      Thanks!
      This will wing stall if you go too slow in a turn too but the few times it happened to me it was easy to recover. You need to pick up this Viper 90 it’s really as good as everyone says. It’s rugged and dialed.
      I also have the Futura, it is a great jet too. Also flies awesome and is forgiving.
      Viper 90 and Futura are both quite easy to land and fly, both very forgiving and not picky on CG.
      I have no gripes about the viper 90.
      I have a few on the Futura;
      The tail broke off on a bad take off, didn’t seem to terrible of an incident but yeah it just broke clean in half. It’s weak at the edf hatch. I recommend glueing the edf cover in place to strengthen the tail. I did and it’s solid now.
      The nose gear is a bit weak, mine has become very sloppy and sometimes the nose will collapse on take off resulting in a scuffed nose. I just received a spare. Viper 90 soaks up all the bumps and ruts.
      Also the foam on the Futura is softer, it gets hanger rash all around the model much easier than the viper 90.
      Both great models, my opinion is the Viper edges out Futura the in every category.

      @@ILLSMOQ Very nice, and thanks for clarifying some things that were already on my mind. I'm definitely going with the complete package and the E-flight Viper 90mm. Thanks again!

    I'm running a jetfan v3 het 700-68-1680kv castle creations HV 160 esc on 10s. Full throttle is 228 amps.Clocked at 160 mph
    I have my timing set to 0
    Love it man! Thinking of going 12s on my other Viper 90 😊

    • @ILLSMOQ
      @ILLSMOQ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah buddy! That’s sounds awesome! I’ll check the data log for amp readings but I understand this FMS fan pulls around 140amp on 10s. I set timing to 5 degrees

    May I ask what that case is that you are storing your batteries in?

    • @ILLSMOQ
      @ILLSMOQ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, it’s a shock proof case I found on Amazon.
      Monoprice Weatherproof /... www.amazon.com/dp/B00JVA7ONQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
      Since I run bullet connectors on all my flight packs, I wanted to keep the packs organized so the power wires wouldn’t get caught on anything and risk a dangerous situation.
      This is more of gun case but I figured it would work nicely for the idea I had for transporting my flight packs.
      I took the boxes the batteries came in and wrapped them all together with black frog tape. The case came with foam blocks that were partially cut to make customization easy. I removed the unneeded foam and stuffed the cardboard box “assembly” into the foam/case. Worked out just as I envisioned it.

      Does it speak??? It does everything! You can make it say “anything” you want it to say, tells you battery voltage, altitude, rx voltage, esc amperage, gps speed…
