Dji. Insta has big problems with focusing on close objects (look at your hand 3:31). And everything on the horizon is blurry, too. It's a well-known and unsolvable problem.
I much prefer the colour accuracy of the OA5 Pro. Even in low light, both struggle in comparison with pocket 3, but AI looks a bit more aggressive on ace pro. There are some issues but they will be ironed for sure with next firmware updates…
There’s not a huge difference now with image quality with the top action cameras. Where’s the DJI pulls ahead is the audio. When using the DJI mic it’s a seamless process and the audio quality is a lot better. Gopro and insta360 just don’t integrate with DJI mic properly for some reason. Also the DJI to DJI mic connects instantly when using quick capture. But overall each camera has unique features that i wish the others had. I guess whatever works best for you.
They are both good cameras, but I prefer the DJI Action 5 Pro because of the two screens which I find it easy to use than flipping up. It is up to us what camera would choose according to our needs.

Thx for the comment. Actually if you want natural motion blur, your shutter speed should be double the fps.. for example if fps 25 your shutter should be 1/50. In this case if you shoot in 120fps, means you have about 4.8 times the 25fps, means on a timeline of 25fps you can slow your footages 4.8 times
5:53 - Did you color grade the log and flat footage? I notice there's a significant color shift a second after the footage starts. I like the sky in 360 but I don't like its often over saturated crushed colors. Was hoping 360 flat would be an option for a realistic picture. If I remember right, I'm using flat on my gopro 11 and i never have to color grade it - it just looks most natural that way. 9:45 - that is an interesting shot, on the DJI it looks like someone stuck a paper poster of your face on your face.
If you used the Action 5 Pro to its fullest capabilities, like 10-bit log profile, and did a decent job of color grading, you can get a better image than the Ace Pro 2 if you corrected the shadows and highlights properly. That being stated, if you need a rugged, fully waterproof B camera for your expensive mirrorless camera, I would recommend the Action 5 Pro. If you are more inclined to have a quick workflow so you can go straight to social media, then the Ace Pro is better. Insta360 is missing out on a great opportunity to capture both markets by simply adding a 10-bit log profile to the Ace Pro 2.

I can't decide which one to get for the best results as I'll be making still videos of maintaining my motorcycle in my well lit garage but also later a lot of off road riding probably getting up to speeds of 80/100 klms per hour in places but I would think generally 50/60 klms pH. My country is mainly sunny 365 days a year however up North can be very wet & cloudy like most countries.....I know it's probably a hard question to answer and I don't expect you to put yourself on the spot but what would your advice be on the action camera for my use, bearing in mind I will have a helmet cam and also another cam fixed facing myself, plus a drone and again I haven't decided on which one of those to get yet but action cam is next on my long list so i would appreciate your input greatly. I would say get 2 ace pro2, or one ace pro (cheaper now) and one ace pro2 when it got released. Or get two dji .. all are good. It's a matter of preference. Personally I see that ace pro has still an edge in low light, dji better audio for now... Well again it's your preference. DJI visibly has better image quality in low light than the Ace Pro, but the excessive sharpness bothers me a lot, it takes away all the naturalness of the image.

The action 5 definitely captures more detail in the shadows and highlights, but this presents a problem with the unedited image, it looks unnatrual and washed out. You have to record in d log and drop the shadows, to get a more contrasty/natural looking image. I believe this is because the sensor is at the limit of its performance ane they had to use AI to get this improvement in dynamic range which makes the video look unnatural at times, especially in normal colour profile where the AI is doing the most amount of work. If you dont mind editing the footage, you get more detail from the camera which is nice, but if you want to just post it to social media straight after recording, the image is gonna look bad.
Hi, I am thinking of returning my AC 5 pro and wait for the ace pro 2, what would be the biggest cons when we comparing ace pro to action 5 pro and would they probably fixed with ace pro 2? I don't know much about ace pro and some people said the size and the weight and the Waterproof is the disadvantage and what else do we have? I need to consider all factors but the ace pro video quality is so much better in your video that I already want to drop my ac 5 pro asap.
Thx for your comment. Ace pro does not have waterproof issues. It is bigger, a little bit, heavier a little bit. The main con is the audio. Dji is better in that but with the new audio hardware and software on the acepro2 the audio should be better
3:30 at a glance, there is word "DE CASTELLANE" and "VISITES" first impression Action 5 is sharpher, but .... no it is not, it just because Action 5 has "sharpen effect" regardless at 4:02 you said the sharpen setting is lowest on both camera. there is sharpen filter still there on Action 5, there is slightest "sharpener line" visible, mimicking "sharp". all photoshop guy will notice this easily.
Watching from a 2k monitor, the Action5pro is much sharper outdoors, whereas the Acepro has a better performance indoors, especially in low-light conditions. I am waiting for the Acepro 2 to upgrade its blurring issue in a short distance. No winner in my view.
I really don't get how people are favouring the Ace Pro. In each shot, it looks like a layer of vase line is coating the lense. The DJI actually shows detail in the sharpness while the Ace Pro just seems muddy or unfocused. Just like other products on the market, there isn't one definitive winner. You either have a detailed picture with gloomy, dismal colors, or better colors and a a constant slightly out of focus feeling. Someone please tell me that there is a way to adjust the color temperature in the settings?
The out of focus can be solved with a diopter..which is a shame I can say. Min focus distance is shorter on ace pro2 to avoid these diopters. But as u said color wise it is better. If I vlog at a certain distance that will be fine with ace pro1
It's annoying how the HDR of the Osmo 5, in overcast days, always shows the sky with a veil, too flat, without contrast... in that case, I prefer the "less dynamic range" from de Insta but at least looks more natural. Thks for the comparison footage.

it does look more realistic. I find my samsung low light is sometimes too bright. Viewers can't even tell its dark. I see some of those traits with the dji but clarity is better in some situations, also.
DJI"s dynamic range is not so good. (I am quite surprised to see that). Especially on the clouds, there is no way I will use action 5 over Ace Pro. Now I really want to see how Ace Pro 2 comes out.
@@photorabz Why not? I have acepro too.. both are good cameras. BUT if u ask me to choose, i will choose dji action 5 pro for vlogging. Why? Because for me the flip screen is troublesome. I prefer have 2 screens front and back 😁. I can switch the camera front or back while running without flipping the screen.

It's crazy how the Ace Pro is 1 generation behind the 5 & still better... Dynamic range etc... Just imagine the Ace pro 2 will definitely outshine all the new action cameras.... The only thing I like about the osmo 5 is the dual mic 2 dji camera you can connect... If ace pro can improve the Bluetooth quality on the Dji mic 2 then even better... Better yet @insta360 make your own camera for your cameras then we will be able to compete head 2 head with everything
The sharpness is actually much nicer on the Dji than the comparatively muddy texture of the Ace Pro. Also, the low light transitions are handled far better on the DJI. What is absolutely horrific about the DJI, is the color ambience... Daytime in the DJI footage just looks moody and like there is overcast. It lacks any soul of color. There must be some option to change that, right?

As a proof! I have DJI Action 4 adventure combo and as much as I want to love the lesser I use it and Ace Pro is the obvious choice for me ro throw in my bag (even by passing DJI Pocket 3) which I am using as one of my main cameras in my studio and works great.
How is muddy the more natural look? Look. Go to 10:07 and see the massive loss in detail in the stairs alone and say that the Ace is more true to life... It isn't.. If the DJI didn't have such a horrible color temperature, it would crush the Ace, hands down.

When I get close to my face , this is a know thing now min focus distance of ace pro is not as short as action 4 (40cm) and action 5 pro (35cm)

it does look more realistic. I find my samsung low light is sometimes too bright. Viewers can't even tell its dark. I see some of those traits with the dji but clarity is better in some situations, also.

Especially on the clouds, there is no way I will use action 5 over Ace Pro.

@@photorabz Why not? I have acepro too.. both are good cameras. BUT if u ask me to choose, i will choose dji action 5 pro for vlogging. Why? Because for me the flip screen is troublesome. I prefer have 2 screens front and back 😁. I can switch the camera front or back while running without flipping the screen.

It worked well. Action 5 is way too sharp, I agree. But it has nice dynamic range and nice skin tone and overall color.

It's crazy how the Ace Pro is 1 generation behind the 5 & still better... Dynamic range etc... Just imagine the Ace pro 2 will definitely outshine all the new action cameras....
The only thing I like about the osmo 5 is the dual mic 2 dji camera you can connect... If ace pro can improve the Bluetooth quality on the Dji mic 2 then even better...
Better yet @insta360 make your own camera for your cameras then we will be able to compete head 2 head with everything

The sharpness is actually much nicer on the Dji than the comparatively muddy texture of the Ace Pro. Also, the low light transitions are handled far better on the DJI. What is absolutely horrific about the DJI, is the color ambience... Daytime in the DJI footage just looks moody and like there is overcast. It lacks any soul of color. There must be some option to change that, right?
@@TheDeadManSwitch I agree. In my testing I found the light transitions to be Metter in DJI. I never like the DJI skin tones.
@@TheDeadManSwitchLook closely at maximum except on a 43" screen and you will see there not a rarity, but a mess of pixels. There is no such mess on the ace pro!
As a proof! I have DJI Action 4 adventure combo and as much as I want to love the lesser I use it and Ace Pro is the obvious choice for me ro throw in my bag (even by passing DJI Pocket 3) which I am using as one of my main cameras in my studio and works great.

How is muddy the more natural look? Look. Go to 10:07 and see the massive loss in detail in the stairs alone and say that the Ace is more true to life... It isn't.. If the DJI didn't have such a horrible color temperature, it would crush the Ace, hands down.
For me, Ace Pro still wins. Picture quality, the gestures feature, and excellent color accuracy.
