I don't understand what's with American Muscle fanboys. Don't get me wrong, I love my country and I am extremely patriotic, but I feel like everyone who jerks off to American Muscle cars refuses to respect any other cars. I love my Subaru, but I also love Mustangs and Camaros. There different cars. I feel like American muscle fan boys only look at HP. Just my thoughts!
John A agree "Each one is built with a different purpose'' made that huge mistake riding my tuned Mitsubishi evo9 to work everyday. now i ride my Suzuki swift for regular day and it helped me save a ton of money
EagleLogic I've never liked die hard American Muscle Fanboys.. I own a 2013 Camaro ZL1 with 580 hp and its amazing, but I still love all other types of cars. Also most camaro or mustang people are annoying.. there die hard "chevy" or "ford" fans and cant admit any other company makes sick cars... And as far as imports go I like them, my personal favorites is the evo or the wrx sti. My friend owns a 2015 wrx she lets me drive, a lot of fun! Only complaint is I think both those cars should have 350-400hp. When it comes down to it, real car people love all fast car and good looking cars. All the other people are fake!
+EagleLogic U have annoying fan boys from the import side too, it works both ways. i prefer american muscle but theres a car i love from almost every brand this one included
Great review! I owned a 2009 WRX, a 2012 WRX and my wife currently owns a 2013 WRX. I recently traded in my 2012 WRX (20K miles) and purchased a 2015 STI (in white). I never really felt there was enough of a performance spread between the STI and WRX to warrant the $8K+ price difference. Until now. The 2015 STI is an absolute beast! I think the smiles and reaction to the STI by the reviewer says it all.
Such an awesome review ! I will never forget how much fun this afternoon was. Really can't thank Hans enough for letting us drive his brandnew baby on this amazing road :D And the new Sti is superb. One of the easiest cars to drive fast I've evet experienced :)
he gets so excited for any car he drives. true car enthusiast. i think his smile went from door to door in the car when he drove the camaro a few months back lol
eggncheezy mixes lol he gets me into it when he's punching it and driving the thing like i would subaruwrxfan great super great review bro...jesus christ if i was the head of subaru or something id hook you up good u really are good at reviews test driving and telling how a car feels and handles you really get deep down in the review all the way to knobs lol which is good i dont like cheap material i really want my moneys worth when i buy something..matt
I like how people talk trash about the STI still "only" having 300 HP for 40K meanwhile a BMW 328i xdrivehas "only" 240 hp at 40K (well over that really) and the 335i x drive has "only" 300 hp yet is easily 50k.A 50K S4 "only" has 333hp. The point is, there no point in making fun of "only" 300 HP when cars 5 figures more expensive have the same power and performance. Its not about HP, its about the total drive. Walt Thomas You won't be disappointed! I went to the dealer looking to get a 15 WRX. Liked it, almost bought it, but was iffy about the EL headers and the 2.0 litre engine. They had a WRB Limited 15 STi on the lot. I took it for a spin. Loved it. And I've been taking it for a spin every day since!
It's true, the new STi handles like it's on rails. It only needs incredibly minor tweaks to dial it in perfectly. I'm thrilled Subaru got rid of the understeer in these vehicles!
@@Th3DiamondPickaxe umm hellcats are around 60-70 grand where an STI is around 30-40 grand or if u want a 2015 one they cost around 19-25 grand plus the power is still good in the sti so no need for a hellcat especially for a family car...
I'd just like to point out how awesome your reviews are. I agree, it feels as if I am sitting in the car, so much detailed, like one viewer mentioned earlier. It is also funny how you giggle when the power comes on, genuine and real. Keep it up
Wow Just wanted to point how much i love watching your reviews, it makes me feel like i'm the one driving its so detailed and thrilling all at the same time. Thank You!
Bought an Sti Launch Edition just 2 days ago and I'm having a blast, My life just got 10x more fun. Waking up to go to work was a chore but now I look forward to the drive!! Everybody just stares at the sexy wrb paint with gold rims too.
This has to be my favorite car review video ever! I've seen it like 15 times! Awesome job! I don't think I have ever wanted to purchase something so much more after watching a video on it! Keep up the great reviews!
subaruwrxfan I don't think I've ever seen you drive anything that fast and had that much fun. You're normally taking your time. The review is waaay up!
Ppl say that all subarus are ugly but I genuinely think that this car looks wonderful. Like on par with Mercedes. I agree that some of the stis look bad like the previous sedan including the front end of the hatch. But this entire car looks awesome. It has an aggressive look but with the subtleties of a corola of course that wing throws that off
You remind me of myself in respect to when your flooring the car into corners your giggling and laughing and enjoying yourself. The first fast car I drove was my dads 06 vette and I was just giggling like a little kid as you said. I would like to thank you for your amazing videos and your charming and genuine personality. You not only are someone that I admire but someone that soothes me when I'm having a rough day. I hope you continue making great videos and keep being yourself I've been a viewer of yours since the days you had 200 subscribers.
unknownally That's exactly why you don't want to buy a performance car pre owned especially with force induction engines. More often than not, the car was abused.
Hey Matt I have been following you for a couple years now and I just picked up my brand new 2015 WRX two days ago and I wanted to let you know that your opinions and analysis of the WRX influenced me greatly in my purchase and I couldn't be happier with the car. Thanks so much for all your videos and keep up the amazing work!
I think that is the thing I love most about by 2014 WRX Hatch is the boost threshold. I love building up the revs to 3k and then the boost kicks in. It is a rush. It makes it fun to drive. I feels like nothing else I drive.
I personally think the regular WRX is the way to go!!! 38hp or whatever the diff is and the big wing isn't worth 8700 over the regular wrx in my book....and hey subaru get with the times man STI been like 305hp for like 10 years now the the f*cking Ford Focus ST (I own that lol) has 252hp out of the factory I mean a Focus man...they want to sell that sucker close to 40k lets see 350 or 400 hp or something!!!! Its too expensive in my book but for some odd reason would love one lol
The STI also comes with unequal length headers, which projects a deeper rumble from the flat 4. You're right about the WRX being a better value though. To be honest I don't like the new body style. Like many people have said, it does look like a corolla from the side, and if I were to get a 2015 WRX or STI, I would pay the extra money to look less like a Corolla.
Sti suspension . Sti shocks . Sti spoiler . Sti ecu , sway bar , 6 speed manual , brembo brakes , sti top mount , bigger turbo, sti mags . Yeah ! Worth extra 8700
14:20 on, calm conversation while the background keeps buzzing by faster and faster, LOL. I love my Launch Edition, and you're right that the stock handling is absolutely incredible. On paper it seems like the same old car, but the driving experience stock is completely different. Just put the STI exhaust on mine (highly recommended), and with the sound tube it sounds like it has an aftermarket intake.
Usually I'm not that big on the exhaust note but that thing sounds really good. Like addictingly good. The WRX noise didn't sound anywhere near as good, at least through your video's audio anyway.. Big props to the owner for letting you do justice on a review, I'm sure all your audience, including the haters, appreciate it.
Yeah forget the WRX I' going for the STI even if I have to save up a little more. If I got the WRX I'd mod it anyways. The 2015 STI is a car that I would not mind keeping stock for a while I am so pumped you got to review one really helped out. Fantastic review.
exactly what I'm going to do! for a comparable STI to the trim i want in a WRX is only like 3-4 grand more, i am going to get an STI, want the base model, i hate full leather seats and will get mine in red!
Yeah I thought about the premium wrx but like you said its not that much cheaper. And I don't really like leather seats much either. Might as well go Sti.
AJ VanGorden the exact trim i wanted to get in the WRX, but instead rather wait a couple months, save up a few more grand and just get the STI instead, for just a couple grand more you get "that" much more car for the money
I glad i am too, i was all set on a wrx and then i read and watched a few reviews of the sti and saw the price difference and had to tell the girlfriend I'm getting an STI instead :)
So Subaru in 2014 finally made an Evo 8/9, and that's a GREAT thing. You get a superior interior, great steering wheel, and finally, finally proper steering response and weight. I bought my Evo new in 04, and after being disappointed with the STIs and Evo X, it's finally time to get rid of my car. Good job Subaru. Still wish it looked like the concept, but I at least like the looks of this one.
Yes exactly . Subaru wanted them to be their own car and not just a "souped up" impreza. Funny thing is it basically still is a turbocharged impreza. They literally only removed the name from the back of the car.
Tim Davidson This is far FAR from a "turbocharged Impreza". I own a 2013 Impreza Sport and a 2015 STI. Please do some research before saying things like this.
This guy gives great reviews, and hes a true car guy.. Also drives the cars in manual like a real car person, and enjoys fast cars. Only downside is he cant give his real negative opinion or dealers wouldn't give him any more cars. Oh well business is business.
I've had my 2015 STI for about 2000 miles now and I've never been out of S#. Which mode were you in during this review? I hear a lot of people complaining that the S# mode is TOO responsive... though I love it. Your thoughts?
honestly I think ive driven my 2014 sti on sport mode for 5 miles and switch to sport # mode and never look back lol... sport sharp is what this car is suppose to be driven in my opinion .. boost is always high and ready to eat sharp turns.. been driving sport sharp now on 6k miles.. I lay off the gas pedal on sport sharp and get pretty decent gas millage 24 to 25.. only thing I hate is when you turn the car off it goes back to sport mode .. btw nice car...
A lot of older gen subaru owners thinks its ugly, but surprisingly its brought 60% of new subaru owners into buying the new 15 wrx and sti. Also increased sales by more than 30%.
99 out of 100, I love that !. Awesome review Matt. I love the sti, but manual transmission is out of the question for me on a daily driver. Been there done that. This seems to be a much more refined sti fir sure. I love the new interior look, a much needed improvement that will attract ppl that originally were not as interested on this model. Great job Subaru. Keep'em coming Matt, loving your reviews bud. JP
I love that its sticking to the basics. Including real key ignition. I want to get myself WRX Sti just like this to replace my 2012 XV/Crosstrek. Same perfectly designed Interior better engine and drivetrain plus i want get back to a proper sports car xd
AWESOME review Matt!! The WRX has really grown on me looks wise and the STi has made me love it. The sound is very impressive for stock and I love the red accents on the seats.
Good video, man. We're actually getting in a pre-owned 2015 STi Limited at my dealership and my used car sales manager is going to get me out of my brand new 2014 Mini Cooper S to into the STi. I have friends with WRXs and I'm just really loving the car and praying that I can get it.
Is this still a Launch Edition even though it doesn't have the gold wheels? I thought I read that all of the Launch Editions were going to be WRB w/ the gold wheels. I just don't read enough on Subaru stuff. Great Review!
R35killa Hey man, this car is actually not the launch edition, it's the base STI, and these are the wheels that come with it. The limited comes with silver BBS and the Launch Edition comes with Gold BBS
I still think Subaru made a mistake for not upping the power on the STI. Sure keep the EJ25, as aftermarket shows the EJ25 can reliably daily ~380hp without breaking anything, However, the STI can finally handle like the old GC8 days (remember the 2008 GR8?). So that means as SubaruWRXFan said, all it really needs is some aftermarket ECU & exhaust/intake mods to get it up to ~350hp or so before going to beat Camaros on the track.
I've gotta say, in all of your reviews, I always get a kick out of, "OK, let's turn down this backroad and see how it does..." Hilarious. Anyway I really really want one of these badboys.
Great review. Definitely hit the nail on the head - get the WRX if you want a sporty daily driver, get the STI if you want the powerful motor and the race-inspired handling.
fortunately, Subaru listens to the masses, and there's a reason why Subaru discontinued the hatch - NO ONE OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. BOUGHT ONE. So you stick to your 2011 STI Hatch, I'll go with the 2015 STI with it's torque vectoring, stiffer suspension and body, more comfortable interior, standard back up camera, and better handling - after all, THAT'S WHAT THE STI WAS DESIGNED FOR - here's to FORWARD thinkers
Thats a big reason why i just cant recommend an Sti over a Wrx especially when we are talking about a daily driver. I love the heritage of the Sti but id rather have a 02-04 low mileage Porsche 911 Turbo which is also awd and about the same price as a brand new 2015 Sti with the same gas mileage but with much more power too.
My 2015 STi is my daily driver. I work 15 miles from my house and I average between 19 - 20 mpg. With no traffic and keeping my foot out of it I've gotten up to 25 mpg max.
Tim Davidson LOL, wait till you have to do maintenance & head gaskets( if not anything else breaks ) on your porsche. what you just said is completely stupid. lmao
And you are obviously extremely ignorant to make a comment that I'm stupid for liking a car that is far superior than a sti . Go do your homework son . There's a reason 911 Turbos are well over 100 grand . Hints why I would buy a 10 year old 911 turbo with low mileage over a 15 sti anyday !
Vagabond MaReligion Guys. Having watched a few video's of this car on TH-cam, and from other site's, either blowing it up, or marking it down! I guess it either does it for you, or it doesn't. Not much point in arguing too much about it. If you want something that looks like that, knowing what it's foibles are before investing in it, then good for you! I make a point of being with my close friends when they buy a new car, and I'f I was with a pal who wanted one bad enough, I wouldn't talk them out of it. However, I would tell them to look across the second hand market first. Perhaps a previous generation, with all the tools would be a better option?! Just saying! I love Scoobie's,even though I don;t own one. A relatively rare sight on UK road's. Keep up the good work guys.
And to boot these car look very good! Ive seen one with 1 inch suspension lowering and it looks incredibly rad....I think people that are hating this car are misjudging alot...(I have noticed the DARK GRAY, BLACK, and SILVER looks even better my opinion) ....guys this car is not a lemon...most likely one of the purest and coolest STI's we have ever had...
i'm not a hater but I would have to agree, I think this might be even uglier than the last model. It's probably nicer in real life, but still not a very attractive car.
Agreed. At least they're not discontinuing the wrx like Mitsubishi did the evo. :) Although I don't really care for the 4th gen and new Imprezas, I'm sure if I owned one, it'd grow on me. 2005 STI till I die.
Carlitox b 05 used to be my favorite as well. Still like the look more. I spent a lot.of time.with an 05 that had a stage 2 clutch installed and am now driving a white 2015. Love it so frigging much. Handling feels so much better (coming from an s2k I can almost barely notice the size difference. It feels.just as sporty around corners while being quite a bit larger). I'm coming around on the looks (05 more classic rally, this more sleek and it grows on you, the profile is something special not to mention the interior). I'd take a test drive if I were you. This year is something special. It's a seriously great drive. Holy crap cornering onto a freeway onramp.and then letting it have it is exhilarating.
Best review of this car so far. Thanks. Subaru is (to me) the best car, money can buy. It is a well balanced car in everything. It looks great. I kinda think that those who say that its ugly have a problem!
Instead of looking at an A4, I would wait and see how the new Audi S3 is. You're getting a great performing car that is similar in size, weight, and price as the STi. I'll still tell you to buy an STi after trying them, but then again I'm a biased Subie junkie.
Hey, subaruwrxfan! I can finally say that I've seen the 2015 wrx sti. I left McDonalds and as I'm waiting at the light, a blue one with tinted windows pulled right up next to me. I honked (to get his attention), gave gim the thumbs up and he did it back, and then he took off. It was pretty awesome haha:)!
Michael Brewer I mean Camry "3.5 L 2GR-FE V6 268hp", or how about a honda accord stock with 280hp. My point is this car is an outdate POS that barely has more power than a Camry or Accord. That's a fucking joke. At least sell it for 25k if you're gonna use a 10 year old engine.
its about accessing those horsepowers man and how fast. plus there is not overseer to what you post the horsepowers at lol. it has 1 hp over last gens but, it can access more horsepower faster so its quicker.
Nice review! It's an amazing car - so many improvements and more refined, but it still has a ton of attitude. So many people comment that it's not worth the money over the WRX for a "big wing." There is much, much more to the STi over the WRX than the big spoiler. I picked up my grey 2015 just under a month ago, and I am really enjoying my car. Unless I am mistaken, doesn't world rally regulations restrict cars to around 300hp? I see a lot of comments complaining about no increase in hp. Don't get me wrong, I would be stoked about more power, but I think they keep it like that due to the cars rally roots.
the feeling of being invincible is what gets young drivers killed when behind the wheel of power that can corrupt good sense of judgement. it's clear that you are mature and responsible and thus know your limits. unfortunately not everyone who drives cars like these is. screeeech!!!! you're dead son!
This will be my first non Toyota/Lexus purchase in 12 years. I just want a fun daily for two small kids. Not sold on the IS line(I currently own an 01, although it does have a 1uz V8 swap). Cant decide between going for a new STI or finding a clean older 2012ish STI hatch or waiting to see if that Levorg or whatever becomes the new STI. Regardless an Subaru STI will be my next purchase and I am excited. Thanks for the videos. I just started watching them but being a native of VA(born in Roanoke), you've got my support.
Seen one just like this the other day... wow.. couldnt agree more, veeerrry nice and even had nice sharp body lines to go with it I think it just might be the non wrx model imprezas that look bad :/
I'm a fan of the around 2005 models personally, but I'm really digging this one. Got one today and I parked it and got out and just took in the profile for a minute... It's really gorgeous. And I won't even get into the interior, which may be even nicer looking. But, honestly, we like these for the drive. The sound they make at the low end sold me the moment I got in. The grip around a corner the salesman insisted I not break at sealed the deal. The looks are just a bonus. Still miss the hatch model tho. But seriously, I cannot complain. I honestly have nothing unless I got seriously nitpicky.
Great review. I like that you've covered both the 2015 WRX and STI now, and it's fun to watch both back to back for comparison. I think you've highlighted a couple of interesting bits that I have not yet seen discussed. For example, where does some of that extra cost go? Well we can always say the transmission and Brembo brakes, but it's more interesting to see all the interior upgrades as well including a couple design changes and material upgrades. You have the alcantara and extra stitching details on all the soft surfaces. You have several upgrades to the steering wheel including the metal (maybe) bottom accent and vented leather wrap on the sides. The center console has a sliding cover over the cup holders which does produce a more premium appearance. I do have a question about the seats. The STI does have the alcantara and red striping, but as far as I'm aware and can tell from both videos, both appear to be the same dimensionally, including the bolstering. However, you state in the video that the seat in the STI is a lot better. Could you go into more detail as to why you feel the STI seats are better than the WRX ones? I'm curious if they actually modified the foam density or modified the springs or added stiffening in the bolstering or something that would differentiate the two. I ask because I thought that they were identical outside of the alcantara and the red accents. I also ask because I believe you still had the BRZ at the time of the WRX review and now have the Mini as your daily, and this may throw off your perception. Speaking of seats, yes, JDM variants can provide significantly improved hugging power in these cars, especially for skinner people that find a lot of wiggle room in the US spec seats. I got JDM Version 9 STI Spec C seats a couple years back for my FXT (not many other all black STI seats other than a Recaro variant), and they've really spoiled me big time. They make the BRZ seats feel flat, under supportive, and roomy. The foam used is also much more dense (improves tactile sensation), and there's plastic support plating on the back of the bolstering that helps it retain shape and hold. I really do suggest looking at JDM variants if you do find the US spec a little too sloppy for your taste. For those that track, auto-x, or rally-x, they can be a huge improvement for keeping you in place and comfortable during heavy maneuvering. It makes me curious about JDM spec 2015 seats for these cars, and I'd expect to see quite a few people trying to source some for their cars.
This car is superior to any stock STI I have ever driven. It is most likely the most capable for aftermarket as well. Ive already seen 50HP gains with Tune and Downpipe....I am very eager to get my hands on one of these...btw I drive a 2005 Sti...
Great review!! This video made me feel like I should have waited a little longer to get a STI but i love my 2015 wrx. I got it with the STI short shifter and I love it. Took a while to get used to but I love my WRX . Great review!!

The biggest complaint is the fact that its the same old EJ. People were expecting the FA motor because its better i guess...
*DAMN THIS GUY TOLD YALL DUMBASSES*
Mrlolibre balanced? hardly
needs at least 360 - 375 horse power to be balanced
Mrlolibre true
If you sold a shirt "So, let's turn on this back road here..." I'd buy it.

im down
imagine being blindfolded, kidnapped, and then thrown into this guy's car and then having to hear him squeal as he accelerates on a backroad

The more I see this new WRX/STI the better I think it looks.

The more I look at this car, the more I like it! I'm thinkin I'll be picking one of these up later this year.
Walt Thomas You won't be disappointed! I went to the dealer looking to get a 15 WRX. Liked it, almost bought it, but was iffy about the EL headers and the 2.0 litre engine. They had a WRB Limited 15 STi on the lot. I took it for a spin. Loved it.

Get an STi man I can tell how much you love the acceleration of this car and you are a subaruwrxfan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see you truly love this car
I love people who are enthusiastic and passionate at what they do, and he's definitely one of them! Im a big fan!!
Having family, MUST BUY THIS CAR!!! If I am going to buy a 4 door, why not have some fun at the same time?
Acc0rd79 then get a hellcat😤😤
@@Th3DiamondPickaxe umm hellcats are around 60-70 grand where an STI is around 30-40 grand or if u want a 2015 one they cost around 19-25 grand plus the power is still good in the sti so no need for a hellcat especially for a family car...
The kids won't be able to sleep, but ye good family car
I'd just like to point out how awesome your reviews are. I agree, it feels as if I am sitting in the car, so much detailed, like one viewer mentioned earlier. It is also funny how you giggle when the power comes on, genuine and real. Keep it up
Wow Just wanted to point how much i love watching your reviews, it makes me feel like i'm the one driving its so detailed and thrilling all at the same time. Thank You!
That is one ugly car
+sid johnson just leave then
DODGERAMFAN0511 It looks like at least 3 people agree with me
***** Yeah, honestly. I guess some people are more grumpy than others. Have a good day. :)
so ugly
Bought an Sti Launch Edition just 2 days ago and I'm having a blast, My life just got 10x more fun. Waking up to go to work was a chore but now I look forward to the drive!! Everybody just stares at the sexy wrb paint with gold rims too.
That thing needs some gold rims
This has to be my favorite car review video ever! I've seen it like 15 times! Awesome job! I don't think I have ever wanted to purchase something so much more after watching a video on it! Keep up the great reviews!
Best review soo far matt! My previous favorite was the 2004 WRX STI and now this is my favorite! Awesome review! I love the new 2015 WRX STI!
subaruwrxfan I don't think I've ever seen you drive anything that fast and had that much fun.
This is why there's so many engine failures. People who buy STis never do the 1000 mile break in.
unknownally That's exactly why you don't want to buy a performance car pre owned especially with force induction engines. More often than not, the car was abused.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure mine was abused. I managed to fix 50% of the problems.
I believe it . What did you buy ?
unknownally what is the 1000 mile break in?
2004 WRX
Hey Matt I have been following you for a couple years now and I just picked up my brand new 2015 WRX two days ago and I wanted to let you know that your opinions and analysis of the WRX influenced me greatly in my purchase and I couldn't be happier with the car. Thanks so much for all your videos and keep up the amazing work!
You and Saabkyle are the best Car tester :-)
the most Car shows are Boring ...
Thanks for being so cool :-)
and sorry ThatDudeinBlue is also perfect :-)
i agree they have good in depth car reveiws but i find them to be obnoxious in a geeky sort of way
You forgot 2theRedline, very professional reviews.
Cory the sti only has uels because it still uses the ej25
Sti suspension . Sti shocks . Sti spoiler . Sti ecu , sway bar , 6 speed manual , brembo brakes , sti top mount , bigger turbo, sti mags . Yeah ! Worth extra 8700
I just love how you really understand how fun cars are. You just made my day. Thanks!!!!
Hated this car at first but once I started seeing them in person I fell in love
14:20 on, calm conversation while the background keeps buzzing by faster and faster, LOL. I love my Launch Edition, and you're right that the stock handling is absolutely incredible. On paper it seems like the same old car, but the driving experience stock is completely different. Just put the STI exhaust on mine (highly recommended), and with the sound tube it sounds like it has an aftermarket intake.
Best car reviews around, screw the haters keep up the excellent work Matt! If you ever come to the Midwest setup a meet and greet!
I admit I also kind of like Turbo Lag, that feeling of it thrusting you back is awesome
I love how he looks so damn happy when he guns it😂
Usually I'm not that big on the exhaust note but that thing sounds really good. Like addictingly good. The WRX noise didn't sound anywhere near as good, at least through your video's audio anyway.. Big props to the owner for letting you do justice on a review, I'm sure all your audience, including the haters, appreciate it.
Great footage as usual mate, I love the way it looks too! :)
That car is invincible indeed! Awesome car, very good reviewers, thanx for sharing this moments of fun with us guys!
Dude you remind me of Jesse from The Fast and Furious!
Awesome Reviews by the way!!
The handling on the new STI is 10/10 would go around that corner again. Great review!
that smile when he said "yesssh it's quick indeed!" LoL!
subaruwrxfan, you have a wonderful TH-cam channel! It is refreshing to see someone driving and reviewing these cars! Thank you!
Glad someone else is thinking the same way lol
Dear Santa, I would like the 2015 Subaru Impreza STi. BTW amazing video work Matt.
Even though they are still based off the same impreza shell, the wrx/sti no longer carry the impreza name with the 2015.
Oh, so basically now its just the Subaru WRX/STi
Yes exactly . Subaru wanted them to be their own car and not just a "souped up" impreza. Funny thing is it basically still is a turbocharged impreza. They literally only removed the name from the back of the car.
ok
Tim Davidson This is far FAR from a "turbocharged Impreza". I own a 2013 Impreza Sport and a 2015 STI. Please do some research before saying things like this.
I have a 2017 STI base and still I have a smile on my face and on the track it’s so much fun no complaints.
May I suggest doing a video on the WRX vs the WRX STi
Really great review and test and the smile in your face is which any one how drive the STI will get Keep it up
"Whatsupeverybodysubaruwrxfanhere!" ...Lol never gets old
This guy gives great reviews, and hes a true car guy.. Also drives the cars in manual like a real car person, and enjoys fast cars.
Only downside is he cant give his real negative opinion or dealers wouldn't give him any more cars. Oh well business is business.
Should review that subwoofer.
just amazing today alone i watched ur 2015 wry video, 2004-06 sti review now this one. fantastic car can't wait to get my legacy gt back.
I lay off the gas pedal on sport sharp and get pretty decent gas millage 24 to 25.. only thing I hate is when you turn the car off it goes back to sport mode .. btw nice car...
noxnyc23 I agree. It's a bit annoying switching every time you get in.
Brent Douglas You don't have to worry about that with the 2015's though, right ?
A lot of older gen subaru owners thinks its ugly, but surprisingly its brought 60% of new subaru owners into buying the new 15 wrx and sti. Also increased sales by more than 30%.
Such an awesome sounding 4 cylinder
99 out of 100, I love that !.
Awesome review Matt. I love the sti, but manual transmission is out of the question for me on a daily driver. Been there done that.
This seems to be a much more refined sti fir sure.
I love the new interior look, a much needed improvement that will attract ppl that originally were not as interested on this model.
Great job Subaru.
Keep'em coming Matt, loving your reviews bud.
JP
love the faces he`s making while accelerating in every video. laughing my guts out :D
I love that its sticking to the basics. Including real key ignition. I want to get myself WRX Sti just like this to replace my 2012 XV/Crosstrek. Same perfectly designed Interior better engine and drivetrain plus i want get back to a proper sports car xd
7:39 laughing like a little school girl haha, nice review matt!
AWESOME review Matt!! The WRX has really grown on me looks wise and the STi has made me love it. The sound is very impressive for stock and I love the red accents on the seats.
i saw this in real life, its amazing
but i still prefer the evo
Good video, man. We're actually getting in a pre-owned 2015 STi Limited at my dealership and my used car sales manager is going to get me out of my brand new 2014 Mini Cooper S to into the STi. I have friends with WRXs and I'm just really loving the car and praying that I can get it.
Is this still a Launch Edition even though it doesn't have the gold wheels? I thought I read that all of the Launch Editions were going to be WRB w/ the gold wheels. I just don't read enough on Subaru stuff. Great Review!
I wrote this before you said it that it's a Launch Edition. Glad to see you can have different wheels on it!
R35killa Hey man, this car is actually not the launch edition, it's the base STI, and these are the wheels that come with it. The limited comes with silver BBS and the Launch Edition comes with Gold BBS
Thanks for all the info Koncealed
Also, the launch edition has blue trim/stitching on the interior instead of red.
Just 1000 cars of the Launch Edition....... Im already drive..... and just the second gear is awsome... but payment little hight 650 month :(
I still think Subaru made a mistake for not upping the power on the STI. Sure keep the EJ25, as aftermarket shows the EJ25 can reliably daily ~380hp without breaking anything,
However, the STI can finally handle like the old GC8 days (remember the 2008 GR8?).
These look totally different in real life. I saw a launch edition the other day and it totally changed my initial impression from pictures
he literally made me want a 2015 wrx sti lol
The music in the beginning of the videos set the mood. Love you're reviews
this car is not ugly! its looks very hot! u guys need a glasses
Great review. Definitely hit the nail on the head - get the WRX if you want a sporty daily driver, get the STI if you want the powerful motor and the race-inspired handling.
no hatch? no sale.
i'll stick with my 2011 sti hatch.
If you go to Japan you can get a hatch I agree hacthes are cool but me and my dad enjoy the 2015 still a lot
My friend bought a brand new 2014 hatch.. 4 months ago.. 1 month ago. Some lady ran a red light and totaled it last one too.
weird. scoobys have ever been limousines, instead of hatchbacks. just saying.
The Reckless One same here
fortunately, Subaru listens to the masses, and there's a reason why Subaru discontinued the hatch - NO ONE OUTSIDE OF THE U.S.
Dude this guy really enjoys the car 😭 I love my 17' sti 😍
15.6 mpg. Seriously!?. Must be a track car............I hope!!!
Keep up the good work guys.
i wish they made the BRZ’s with the WRX power and setup, i personally think the BRZ’s look amazing but they really did them dirty with that horsepower
Do an Infiniti g35 or g37!
Waiting for that 6MT G35 review. ;D He said he would, but he's been having trouble finding one. Same with the 350z as well.
the 35 and 37 are now called the q50 and q60.
I still think it's butt ugly but that's just my opinion
i'm not a hater but I would have to agree, I think this might be even uglier than the last model. It's probably nicer in real life, but still not a very attractive car.
In my opinion it looks a lot better in person.
that is why Subaru made STI underspoilers for both the WRX and STI, but you are a bullshit because I am biased with the STI's new look
I thought the exact same but they do look better in person when you see one up close. Still not quite as good as the previous gen though.
Kenton Burroughs yes thats being very biased because if you had won a 2015 sti you wouldn't be saying that
u got it bro, this is what i've wanted to see! thanks man
after the hawkeye all impreza's suck...they gone from rally car, to familly car .... for me the 1999/2000 model's are the best ever made
Spot on own a 05 wrx sti ... Keeping it forever
I have a 99 RS with a sti-ra swap. I still like the older look. However, the '15 looks better in person than a picture.
Agreed. At least they're not discontinuing the wrx like Mitsubishi did the evo. :) Although I don't really care for the 4th gen and new Imprezas, I'm sure if I owned one, it'd grow on me. 2005 STI till I die.
05' my favourite but you are a little bit right
Carlitox b 05 used to be my favorite as well.
This looks awesome in person. The pictures just don't do it justice.
This is my dream car
Y tho
Cause its nice, what is yours lemme guess. A lambo
TheIronGiant 22 nah bro, probably a gt350
Alberto 9324 oh course
TheIronGiant 22 either that or an orange gt3 or a gt3rs why not
Best review of this car so far. Thanks. Subaru is (to me) the best car, money can buy. It is a well balanced car in everything. It looks great. I kinda think that those who say that its ugly have a problem!
2015 STi or a 2015 Audi A4?
Instead of looking at an A4, I would wait and see how the new Audi S3 is. You're getting a great performing car that is similar in size, weight, and price as the STi. I'll still tell you to buy an STi after trying them, but then again I'm a biased Subie junkie.
You can't really make that comparison- they are different strokes for different folks.
That's a rhetorical question. The answer being the STI, of course.
A4 has been out since 09. I would wait til next gen.
Wade H A4 has been out since 1995. The 2009 A4 is the B8 model, but the current is B8.5, which is a facelift of the B8. Not exactly the same.
Looks like a damn corolla, about as much power as a corolla s too LOL
u must drive a corolla. lol
LOL... Almost has twice the Hp as a Corolla! You dont know shit about anything
Michael Brewer
I mean Camry "3.5 L 2GR-FE V6 268hp", or how about a honda accord stock with 280hp. My point is this car is an outdate POS that barely has more power than a Camry or Accord. That's a fucking joke. At least sell it for 25k if you're gonna use a 10 year old engine.
its about accessing those horsepowers man and how fast. plus there is not overseer to what you post the horsepowers at lol. it has 1 hp over last gens but, it can access more horsepower faster so its quicker.
screwloose455 lol I dont think you realize that both the Camry and Accord are front wheel drive and have V6 engines...
I'm a huge fan of a digital boost gauge. It makes it a little harder to tell if your car is boosted, making it slightly less likely to be stolen.
3:07 watching porn?
haha
Lmao "XXX (Deluxe Version)"
XXX Deluxe Version by Danny Brown. Bit of a contradiction to the little white boy in the video.
I might be a part of a minority here, but I personally think these model Sti's are god awful looking.
trust me, I thought that but once you see one in person they are beautiful!
static
no
Gotta agree with the other guy, looks nicer in person. Also white looks amazing. Take off the spoiler and you've got a crazy nice sleeper car.
You're the best car reviewer ive found on youtube!! Keep up the great work
Nice video!
We love the shots and camera angles you used. Great stuff.
I was so excited for this review! Great job as always :)
Awesome review I just bought a white base 15 sti and I love it! Awesome review keep up the good work!!!!
