Will it START? Old Dump Truck SITTING for YEARS Completely Overtaken by NATURE!

- In this video, I see if I can get this old UD Turbo Diesel Tip Truck or Dump Truck running after it has been sitting for so many years it has sunk into the ground and become completely overtaken by nature. UD Trucks are a wing of Nissan Trucks in Australia, and I estimate this would be a mid 1980’s built Truck. It’s fitted with a large turbo diesel engine and a road ranger style gearbox. The truck is full of spider webs and when I opened the door on my initial inspection, two massive spiders ran out to greet me. Wish me luck on This will it start video, I’m going to need it! Thanks for watching, Bruce.

when i was younger i did everything i could to spend time wrenching with old timers, you cant get that type of knowledge and experience from a book. now you can get close to the same thing on TH-cam. its amazing. thank you for making these videos.
You and me too! My uncle bought an army surplus Jeep when I was about 5 ot 6 and he let me help fix it up and even taught me how to drive it. In the cow pasture not on the road! I went on and had my own farm equipment business when I was 14 and finally ended up as a fleet maintenance manager for a multi-national company before I retired 24 years ago.
Yes please go back!
getting lots of support to go back from all the comments, stay tuned
Thanks Bruce!
Your videos are so therapeutic in this crazy world and take me back many decades in the country.

my wife might have something to say lol
Mine told me if I did buy one, I would never sell anything. And believe me I did seriously think about it!
Man of my own heart, Windsor and Cleveland.
Make someone a nice stationary engine for sure, not a whisp of smoke.
Great video Bruce, thank you.
Go for it Bruce, love to see it out of the mud. Legend
thank you, looking at the support in the comments quickly i may do a video on trying to move it,
only little huntsman their harmless
You're right. They're big and hairy but are no threat to anyone.
Eat most of the real bities
Hi Bruce and Mr Cameraman, you guys are amazing, the old machines you get going never ceases to entertain me. These old Japanese trucks were built to last, and the engines, although large, weren't endowed with power commensurate with their size. The fact that it started straight away didn't surprise me, before I retired, I drove Japanese trucks for 10years and they were very reliable. Regarding getting the UD out of it's resting place, I think after starting like that, it wants to get going again and I think it deserves a chance at life again!
Yes, definitely want to see it drive away. That was an amazing startup! Almost as amazing as you working in a white shirt!
I am studying diesel mechanic in South Africa. Your videos always makes me excited to work one day. You made me realize that my passion lies in fixing diesel engines!
You make my day, please go back, can't wait.
That motor sounds so sweet.
Big up the cameraman for helping out 👍
Sounded really good when it was running.
It was like watching a horror movie waiting for something hideous to jump out or appear 😱
It’s gotta be recovered & taken out the mud. 👍
Dear Mr. Bruce.
👍👌👏 2) Yes, please try to save the vehicle. Although I don't know if the complete truck is worth saving but the engine definitely is.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
A real diamond in the rough. Unbelievable. And people knock these old critters, how good. You've started the ball rolling Bruce you might as well see it through now. She'll be right mate.
Good video, Bruce. I would like to see it driving.
thanks very much, really appreciate your support
С удовольствием смотрю каждое видео. Спасибо!
Bruce is a true professional: unload a full can of insect spray in the cab and check the oil in a white long-sleeved shirt! I love it.
Love the videos Bruce! I would love to see a video of you resurrecting the old truck out of its watery grave.
Amazing. Please come back and get this gem moving!
Can't leave the old girl there to rot, definitely would like to see you get her moving mate 👍
A real gentleman... Working on that old stuff in a white shirt! 😀
She purrs like a Kitten it'd be.a crime not to see it drive! Thanks again for the video Bruce! Come on people, costs nothing to click the Like button!
UD trucks would have to be one of the best! They just keep on going. Well done Bruce. Please get that poor thing out of the paddock. It deserves to be rescued.
Thank you Bruce, please come back and drive this.
Yes part 2 would be awesome...what a sweet running motor. Be good to see it get another life in another truck
Watching Bruce wrangle those spiders, I was done. He is not only brave and knowledgeable but a bit crazy, I love it!
I remember around 1974 a friend of my fathers bought a brand new Nissan UD turbo bogie drive tip truck, was one of the best buys he ever made he reckoned, it went for years. Back in those days Japanese trucks were laughed at in Australia. I was amazed how long that white shirt lasted for too. Great video, I am getting to learn your step by step methods before the time comes to start the engine too...
Move pretty quick for an old fella there Bruce hahaha 👍love your show
ha ha, thanks, im on high alert around unit like this 1
Great job, Bruce.
Yes - I will be waiting for the UD to come out
Let's see if it drives. Another great video Bruce.

Wow I'm amazed it started and ran so smoothly. Awesome work once again mate ❤
All I can say Bruce is it’s a good job you had the camera man there 😂😂
And how easy did that start
That’s top quality Nissan truck engineering for you
That old girl needs pulling out of there
Top job Bruce
Hi Bruce, That UD started on half rotation and along with your mates story I believe this is must keeper and must go back to driver her out and refurbish this one.

Love your work Bruce. Yes plz. I drove 1 of them mid 90s at Yarrie iron ore for Roche Bros. Was a service truck. Great truck with grunt

I literally swore when that old beast fired right up. Was not expecting that. Hope to see it again in the future.
Glad she started without any issues! She purrs nicely! Let’s see this thing get moved!
Penetrant, pounding, patience and a master's touch. You have got try and get that machine moving.
Great to see the old Datsun. Looks like an update 2nd generation C series. 1983 - 1990. Love your work, Bruce. 👍
Geez Bruce , ya can't leave us hanging HaHaHa... You need to get the Old Girl moving :)
Great work Bruce, we love your old stories and yes we would like you to return and drag the old truck out.
Fired on the first crank! Amazing! You owe Her a revisit to see if she'll move under her own power! Another great video, good to see you had an assistant today!
That Engine is still brilliant... Bruce you Legend... Bring it back to life buddy...👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Purrs like a kitten.
Sounds better than the brand new trucks, drive her home!!
That is one nice running engine. You do an excellent job in preparing the engine for the first start. No shortcuts, ensure oil, water and fuel are correct before cranking the engine. And clean, tight connections on the batteries. Great video.
Please go back and drive it outta there! Would love to see it!
It feels like you've really come along with these videos Bruce, they are interesting and entertaining. Show us the retrieval of this old truck.
Bril!. Never disappointed watching these films!. Nice one!. Please do one on getting it out!. 🙂
Not keen on the spiders, but absolutely you gotta drive that thing outa there, what an amazing engine, great video Bruce!!!
Now you've got her started you MUST try to get her moving. All The Best from Somerset, England.

YOUR PATIENCE is a virtue Bruce, watching from England, fingers crossed the old truck will pull itself out of the swamp, i am looking forward to your next video with every thing crossed GOOD LUCK.
Great filming Bruce , bring us back on this one,
Amazing, started instantly and little or no exhaust smoke! Yes, come back when the ground drys up, let's see if can go!
The way you jump back Bruce when first spraying the Wasp nest is hilarious 😝
Bruce's Diesel repair and Pest Control services.
Proper job and all done in a dress shirt, class act Bruce.
Go get it Bruce. She waiting to be drove again. Awesome video thank you.
Bruce, mate. I was checking your page earlier today for a new upload. Thanks for doing that. Cheers.
The old timer was right about the wasps, knock the nest off and they will leave. But if you do, DON'T MOVE. They will fly around and bump your arm etc, but won't sting. I've done this countless times over the years.
im not sure im that game lol
Wow that engine sounds amazing and like usual it was great to see a master mechanic at work 🙏 thanks for the great videos and yes go back I’d love to see you drive it away. 👍👍
Bruce, you’re absolutely great, patience of a saint and never say die. Would like to see more on this truck, the engine sounds sweet.
Well done Bruce you owe camera guy 2 cold beers, please come back and roll it out of there its got good bones

Well done Grandson.
Great job Bruce ...! 🎉
Hello Bruce always great to see another great video respect to you blessings from north Queensland tablelands an old Ipswich boy thanks for sharing love it stay safe everyone 😊
Thanks very much Denis, hopefully the rain has started to back off up that way now (like here finally)
I watched to the end to watch it drive. so yeah I want to see it move under it own power.
Great video Bruce looking forward to the next chapter😅
A pleasant surprise; knew a contractor who swore by UD for all his tippers and float semi. He was pretty hard on his gear but these older UDs always worked well in outback situations. Good on fuel too!
Much respect to you, there’s no car in the world I could go in with the chance of spiders like those
I definitely want to see you get this truck out of its grave, Bruce. You got er back to life so far, and it’d be a shame to stop now.
I love watching Bruce work because he totally could have just thrown those sticks on the ground and no one would have batted an eye but instead he tosses it in the bed of the truck what an absolute Legend
Yes, Bruce - you must go back and drive it out! And tip the rubbish out too. Very nice engine!👍🇦🇺
As a Canadian, that truck would permanently belong to the spiders lol. You're a brave man!!
You're right Bruce , the hardest part getting the cab up . That is a proper truck mate . Heavy duty all the way . Makes a bloke wonder why it's parked . You and cameraman are a good team , always there when you need a little more muscle ! Looks like it started on the first compression stroke, no drama ! Cheers 🌵
Yeah Bruce come back and drive it out, you’re doing a great job!!
On ya Bruce, solid work from a walking automotive encyclopaedia.
Great video Bruce! Too good of a truck to be sitting there like that. Deserves to be rescued and put back on the road.
Yes I would love to see it pulled out. Well done sir.
Just an idea, maybe start bringing a weedeater with u. Love the videos and the trucks, keep em coming.
