I’d love to see you attempt the coloring book build challenge. Everything has to be placed in white and you can’t look at or change the colors until everything is placed. So when you chose a wallpaper in white you can only use that wallpapers other swatches when you “color it in”.

If you play the Sims a lot this challenge is easy because you know swatches of certain things
The slight lack of cohesion this challenge creates makes the home look more lived in which is nice :) Like woods not being matched & stuff is pretty real lol
Its such a pet peeve of mine when ALL of the wood stuff match, so thank god 😭
I was thinking the same tbh it's so much more realistic! In real life we can't just change color swatches 😂 would be nice though

yes! the only time wood tones usually match irl is in the actual building structure (like wood floors might match stairs, railings, cabinets...) or if it's a matching furniture set (which usually means it's limited to one single room, and is more common if people have just moved in or just renovated). or else if it's all painted black or white, cuz that's usually an option and it's also easy to do yourself.
having everything match makes sims builds look like pre-furnished new development homes - which can def work for some stories, but usually just looks Weird and Fake to me
I was going to say the same thing. It feels like a real life house. Things not always match and half of things you buy are either white, black or for appliances just stainless steel.
I need Simsie to do a "Nothing White" challenge because I think that's what would really mess with her

What if we just make it a "no color you use frequently (white-black, blue, beige, etc). She specifically has to use colors she DOESN'T use. The only house I've seen where she's done that was the 'most expensive' build with the pink chairs and bed, and the color challenge where she builds everything in black and white, then she turns color back on.

As a kid I didn't know you could change the orientation of items for like 2 years! I remember being so upset because my dresser was facing the wall
I think this build feels quite realistic! Things don’t exactly match but they all go together by bringing in colours from other rooms.

This home gives me the vibes of every suburban home in American family movies from the '90s and I kinda dig it.
I’d love to see a challenge with a wheel that spins on a number and it determines which swatch you use for that room so if it lands on #4 each item you use has to be the 4th swatch of the item. Etc
Most houses are not perfectly decorated so this is a more realistic approach to decorating in the Sims. It's all fine.
This house feels so real and cozy. It kind of makes sense if you think about it because when you have a theme going and you go furniture or decor shopping, what are the odds that every item has the same wood color or same shade of green/blue/orange/red as the rest of your decor. Or you genuinely can't afford the item that matches perfectly

I came in thinking this would be a disaster but it was actually gorgeous, especially the exterior build🤩.

After this you should try one where you have to select the last colour option, but you have to pick the item before looking at the last colour option.
I would love to see Simsie do a No Blue build challenge! She can build & furnish however she wants, there just can’t be any blue anywhere. I think it would make a fun video to watch :)
This feels like a real home. Like, someone who could finally afford a house but couldn't afford to get their furniture all at once, so they have a hodge-podge of thrifted items, gifts, souvenirs, family heirlooms, and a couple big-ticket items. I really like that kind of style because it's so organic and tells a story. "Nothing matches."
I feel like she should try the inverted colour challange (again? Honestly cant remember) and try to make everything match

this challenge is so my builds when i first started playing sims 2 because i didn’t know there were other swatches and i didn’t know how to rotate items so it was a hot mess
heres an example for a video idea, for living room you click on couches in the shop thing then use a number generator to pick one, then the living room has to be that style, for bathroom you would pick a toilet or shower, so on and so forth
The wood swatches in this game make me want to scream 🤦😆

I think this challenge turned out pretty great! But... am I the only one that was anxious seeing kayla putting the kids bed right by the door instead of switching it with the desk?

This is a great house for basic family gameplay, it has loads of stuff in it and it's quite simple so if you struggle building, like me... it's a good house to download and you can add and change stuff to suit your sims. Love it ❤
Your kids rooms are always so loud and one color focused but the rest of the house is so realistic and gorgeous

I have a story in my brain for the family who lives here. It is a slightly older couple with a 10 year old daughter. They like to keep their house very clean and are the type of people who bought really nice matching furnishings for the whole house and then never touched it again. Like those houses you go to where it feels like half of the furniture is only for display. The daughter is kind of calm for her age because her parents are older, and she likes to play outside alone often ( think Harriet the spy). I don't know why I thought this.

Breathe Kayla just sit back and look at the first swatch that comes to mind. U always worry to much about the swatches and the first thing. U just need to calm down and everything will come together before ur eyes and then u will have a beautiful home in the Sims 4.

This challange remindes me of my first times playing the Sims. It took me quite a long time to find out, there were different swatches on the objetcs so quite some of my first builds only featured the default swatches

Kayla should totally attempt this in base game... total chaos! I had the base game only for a short amount of time, and it was very limiting, especially all the build mode textures etc., they all have a 'base game look/stigma'.

I saw this building challenge on TikTok and immediately thought it would be perfect for Lilsimsie. The challenge is set up so that each room represents a different expansion pack, but you're not allowed to use that pack to build. So, for example, the exterior might be Cottage Living and should look like a cottage, but you can use any pack except Cottage Living.
My game has been experiencing the one-tile roof glitch, too.
I’d love to see this challenge as base game only! I feel like it’d remind me of how I played the Sims when I was younger 😂

I would love to see a building challenge with the packs you just "accept". For example I would really like to see you furnish more with the paranormal stuff pack! This is maybe also an idea for the apartment expansion pack coming soon... you could make apartments with stuff pack only themes!

Something I used to get rid of too empty spaces is to put a "laundry room" (?) its kinde worthy

You should definitely do the base game version of the challenge! The house turned out to be so cute it looks very lovely and lived in!
Build as many working houses as you can in a timeframe. They don't have to be different, just build as many as you can.
