YES. this. that would probably be way harder since this was just like an island living build and base game doesnt even really have any relevent items for that style.

honestly loved this! i feel like it pushed you to find new items to use! i'd genuinely be curious to see you build a no basegame house in every non-basegame world.
I adored this video. I'd love to see this concept return for future videos. You can even try to decorate an apartment with no base game so you don't have to worry about landscaping!
Another challenge could be a CC only build. Would be fun to see since you don’t normally use CC and will give you a chance to showcase community talent. I’m sure the console players wouldn’t mind one cc build for entertainment purposes.

Honestly, I appreciate the builds where you use a lot of packs because then we get to see how they can blend into a single build!

This is so fun. I love the more restrictive challenges! Could be an idea for the future 4 for rent as well, limiting each apartment section to a single expansion. The vibes for the building would be beautifully chaotic 👀
i really wanted her to go all out with the packs since this is the perfect opportunity and she rarely does but this ended up being mainly an island living-focused house 😢 it still looks good though!
tbf her reasoning for using island living is pretty smart. Island living is one of the few packs that comes with a lot of non-basegame plants since it's such a different climate
@@davidkonevky7372 that is true. but cottage living has a lot of good landscaping especially in debug. as well as cats and dogs and growing together. she did a great job! i’m just saying i’d love for her to do it again and go all out :)

I would love to see you do some more builds not using base game! I understand feeling bad not using it since a lot of people don’t have a lot of packs but I feel like you’re a great builder and it limits your creativity!
Are you aware that the subtle saucer light is only brighter because that's the preset level? I'm pretty sure you can set any of the lights to a lot brighter.

This really came together beautifully! An “item from every single pack” build would be cool. I also like the idea of doing this again with different styles. It’s a really cool way to discover/rediscover items.

I fully agree. This video showed that she needs to break away from her usual style. I personally think that not using base game items, coupled with only a few packs, makes for a fun challenge that also causes you to make better use of items that you might not otherwise use.
This isn’t really a “build a house without base game” challenge. It’s more “build an island living only house”. Would of been good to see this be done with a regular type of build house and not based on one pack

I honestly found this video so much more entertaining. Although it's technically "a challenge" it seems much more freeing to see you use things in a more creative way instead of going back to old habits (which we all do). It reminds me of when I was a kid and I would AVOID building with anything base game both in the sims 3 and 4 because I wanted to use the packs that I bought to the fullest

First, you said in the rules that features don't count against this. I'd argue that having working lighting is a base feature and therefore getting in basic lighting to at *least* see while you're building should be allowed. You could always remove them right at the end and switch to other lighting, anyway.
Secondly, I want to see the "use something from every pack" video! I also want to see what happens if you then disable every pack and then download this with only base game. What kind of substitutions would it make? I'd love to see what happens if you try to renovate an "every pack" house into a "no pack" house!

I think I will start a challenge : "each appartment is a different Sims Year", with Basegame for the exterior and then, each appartment could only use the packs/kits released that year !

I've been building recently and I have been terrified of doing so but the new To Let ex pk has inspired me. To Let is what we say in the UK rather than For Rent. To Let sounds better I think.

Really? Lots of Simmers do limited packs builds, where you cannot use any base game. Those types of build challenges (no base game plus a limited number of packs) are probably my favorite type of build challenge. It really forces you to utilize items you might not otherwise use. And sometimes you gotta get very creative.

@pondju from time to time (but maybe not recently) James Turner, Sydney Macoretta, Plumbella and Vixella, just to name a few that have made builds using limited packs. Sometimes Sydney will still use very crucial base game items (i.e. toilet), but when Plumbella uses limited packs, she is very strict with herself, and only uses the ones dictated by the challenge.
this ended up being much more island living focused, somehow not the vibe that i expected from the name of this challenge :D i'm surprised how many packs it acutally uses!

Sorry this isn’t related to the video but I’m in need of some help! My game is crashing 2 minutes into loading. I’ve checked graphics card, cleared memory, repaired the game etc and it’s still crashing. My other games like planet zoo (with higher spec requirements) are working perfectly fine. Any ideas? It’s unplayable and I want to be able to play the new pack so bad 😭

I have an ideaaaaa for a builddd, you might have to wait till the new expansion pack but hear me out: a kind of dorm like built, but then you have a shared really colourful space and the personal rooms are like every colour of the rainbow and then spin a wheel for a gender/sexuality and make them bedrooms, in a coloursceme with only red or only orange etc?
I think this is probaly my favrouite simsie build it just looks so cute

Doing that is ROUGH! I've done a Kits only build... It's just fine, except the bathrooms. You got a sink, but that's it. When I did it, I used sized up flower pots for the "pot" 😅

A fun challenge would be you have to use 1 item from every pack no more and no less!
challenge idea: every room is a different pack BUT you can only use that pack and not the base game- randomize packs for rooms based on if they have a full set of that furniture. it would take a ton of effort to make the randomizer for it though because you’d have to go through all the packs and categorize lol
I mean- you could prob just reroll whenever you get something without a set

Also I saw a comment of someone saying you should do a house where you can't use the same item twice. I think this would be super fun! Can't use the cabinet or chair more than once, can't use the same wallpaper on more than one wall, etc.
