    Here is the info on the micro SD card: The maximum capacity of microSD card is up to 1TB.
    It supports microSDHC(4GB - 32GB) and microSDXC(64GB - 1TB).

    Someone recently stole the front license plate of my car and so I was looking around for indoor cameras since I don't live in a home. This is perfect for what I need!! Thank you so much for your extremely detailed review! It helped a ton!

      What did you end up buying. The same thing just happened to me! 😮 I'm considering this for a second floor looking towards my parking spot!

    • @FriendlyKat
      @FriendlyKat 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@zeus1141I did buy this HomeHawk and it is good for what I need. I'm on the first floor of an apartment so it's fine, but if you need to "aim" a camera, Idk if this is the one for you. It sits FLAT on the window and you can't really aim it as such. You could put it low on the window but also the further something is, the worse the quality. I'm debating getting a second different camera just because I need something that can read moving plates as a precaution.
      This does an "okay" job at reading moving plates.

    I think it a good promising camera. I also think it good for people that rent house, and not high rise apartment buildings. it is a very simple set up without the need to go up on ladder, and run wires to install a security camera system.

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      True..a pit pricey though.. I will be comparing this to one of my rigged indoor cams soon... I just need the lens to be as close to the glass as possible.

    Looks like a good form factor. Hopefully other manufactures will pick up on this and make improvements as well as bring the price down due to competition. Agree with another comment or two, battery operated with replaceable battery would be ideal, unlimited mounting options and no wires to deal with. Thanks for another great review!

    Great review, thank you. I'm very interested in this camera, except I wonder if Panasonic ever added the ability to easily download video from the SD card other than having to plug the SD card into a computer. I am happy it isn't battery powered, as I am tired of charging batteries and changing batteries. One con I have read about this window camera is that the suction cups stop working. I don't know whether that is true for most people.

    I have 6 wyze cams looking out of windows. 3 of them are mounted up high on the glass. The other 3 are mounted on the window sill, or on the top of a slider's frame.
    All 6 are black, as the white ones reflect light back into the lens.
    All of them are running the RTSP firmware, so, I still have local access to them if/when internet connectivity goes down.
    This works very well for me! I have no complaints at all.

    they should make a rechargeable version with a removable battery so you don’t have to deal with wires and be able to swap out with fresh batteries. then it could be used in more places without unsightly wires or in challenging areas like a moving garage door that has those windows. also make that version pluggable so you have the option to always have power, charge the battery and still record during power outages.
    edited to add:
    although it doesn’t have audio, there should be a feature to detect for glass breakage and shock with sensitivity setting. that would makes sense since it’s made to stick on glass. it would be nice if on those instances you can record remotely so you have backup footage in case there was a smash and grab robbery, taking the card from the camera.

    Another perfect and detailed review!! Panasonic made a great job. Some minor issues, but this camera make a great picture as it’s suppose to do and picture quality very close to Eufy and Reolink. This is what Arlo, Wyze, etc. should do. Really glad that big companies like Panasonic and Bosch went to this field. This market needs M&A to make IoT complex solution provider and big companies has money for that if they still want to get some share of a pie.

    Hey LifeHackster! Your videos are SUPER helpful for me to learn about home security. I know most of your target audience are living in a house, but would you be able to do a special episode for us who live in condo? I believe with your knowledge and experience in home security you can come up with some ideas and suggestions for how and where to set up security cameras and sensors in a condo. My current issue is, my condo won't allow any modification on our front door and balcony. I have RING alarm system. Originally I was hoping to install a RING peephole camera and wired spotlight camera on balcony. But now I need a work around. I still hope to have a front door camera, even if not outside, at least near the front door pointing out, so it can see the person outside when I open the door. Also a motion sensor camera installed near the sliding door pointing out at balcony. I have all these ideas but don't know how exactly to execute it. e.g. what location and angle works better, how to install the camera with that angle, what camera works best in this case, what tool or mount to use...I really appreciate it if you can give me some advice. Thanks!!

    What if you added a infrared light outside? Would the Panasonic be able to to detect and record faces accurately?

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It doesn't have the black and white setting..so infrared will not be of benefit.. Just install motion lights just in my setup and even just the solar light is enough to provide light for the camera's sensor to identify faces.

    Ouch, $200(can) for this. I had just placed an order for 2x EZVIS 1080p cameras for the window setup plus 2x 128gb sandisk microSD cards, for less then this. I like the idea that the Homehawk can get rid of the window glare with such a large setup though.

    Paused the video on the part where it shows phone # and Live Chat support url and tried to ask a question on Live Chat and it wasn't working. Tried calling and was on hold for a very long time (eventually hung up) ~ not a good vibe! My question to them {which I will kindly ask you instead} was going to be the following: "Does it work without the need to download the app? In other words, will it record to the sd card just by pressing power button or having powered on/plugged in"?

    Thanks for the great video. I'm interested in this camera to put in a second story bedroom to monitor the back wall of my house. There is a park on the other side of the wall, but thankfully the view of the park is obscured by trees but it also provides a lot of dark cover for anyone wanting to sneak over the wall. Other neighbors have had problems with people climbing over the back wall and trying to break into their homes. I have exterior cameras watching windows and doors but I don't have a way to monitor the entire back wall unless I climb a tall ladder and install cameras high up on the house. I'm hoping this camera will be an easier solution even though it can't be networked with my other cameras. Only downside is that it doesn't have any infrared or night vision capability, but I do have bright solar motion activated lights around my property so hopefully that would provide enough light for the camera to see anyone.

    Lifehackster thanks for posting that video, very informative. Based on one of your earlier videos I was going to get the Eufycam2, but I found I have no safe, vandal-proof location to install it at my entry way to my house. I thought probably the best solution is a window cam, and this Panasonic cam comes very close to what I need, except as you mentioned, there is NO AUDIO...DRATS! Why can't these manufacturers also have an exterior-mounted WIRELESS speaker/microphone to pair with the window cam? That way there would be full-functionality of video + audio?!!!👍😁

    Setting the detection hasn't worked for me , I still get a full screen
    playback.I also installed a 256gb SDXC.That is the only issue I have
    had.

    Just a tip .. Change your logo it looks too much like Lionel trains logo. Other than that good video I will definitely consider the camera.

    What happens if the camera looses network connection? Will it continue to record to the sd card?
    Also, can it be set up without connecting to the Internet? I.e. could I link to it from a smart phone via a wireless router that is not Internet connected?
