    UPDATE: Panasonic has updated the app and firmware on the camera, so you can now download and save clips to your phone.

      Thanks for the update Steve... any chance you could review the HomeHawk over the door outdoor camera? Your reviews are very helpful!

    I wasn't aware a window attached cam was on the market. Awesome, and perfect for what I need. Was about to purchase a Ring, but saw this and it totally changed my mind. Thanks!

    This would be perfect if the picture quality was better. The night video was really bad which would make me pass on this. Great review!

    Very cool. I have a situation, where this would fulfill need exactly. Only thing missing would be to save data to a network drive. I have a home router that allows USB storage. I would hate to have a smash and grab of camera, if I could not have alternate storage location. 👍

    Interesting design in the window suction cup application to reduce window glare but that price point is too much considering there are better options available at costs far less expensive. Knowing that the market is well flooded with cameras that perform average enough to record fairly descriptive identifiers on vehicles and people, I think the intermediate home security enthusiast would be more interested in getting some camera options that record license plates and identifiable faces, especially at the $150 price range Panasonic is asking for.
    Another great video and review from you, thanks because it definitely caught my attention, happy to be subscribed.

    Didn't see anything about RTSP support in the product description, so I assume that it doesn't have it. If it did, I could bring this camera into Homekit via Homebridge and I would but it today.

    MTU stands for maximum transmission unit. It's the maximum size of each packet and for this it could probably be used if you had a good deal of packet loss because your network couldn't support larger packets.

    Thanks for another great video Steve. This is actually exactly what I've been trying and failing to find - an inside outside camera. I agree with others though that the image quality looks like it needs to improve. All the intruder problems I've had have been at night and my Ring utterly failed to provide the evidence I needed for the police so I want something recording 24/7 with sharp detail. That said, what's the quality like with 24/7 and if you are recording continuously does it just produce one massive file or does it segment it somehow? If you have to provide a short clip of something actually happening to the police it's going to be a nightmare trying to import a huge file into iMovie to edit out what you need. Any thoughts?

    Good storage and anti-infra red glare is impressive. The 1080p not so much. Probably Eufy 2K doorbell has set the standard very high with image quality with the price point. Thanks for this review.

    • @nix4644
      @nix4644 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not generate its own light source, therefore it is of no use in a dark place (unless you have motion lights or something). Go to LifeHackster YT to see his video of this product. He demonstrates that shortcoming very well.

    It’s a real shame a product like this isn’t using Panasonic’s flagship lenses on chip from there camera range , by using such an old low end design chip even though is great it offers excellent colour night vision of an area, it’s lack or resolution as it is it’s not good enough for court evidence unless some is within 8 ft, also the limitation of storage, with no nas intergration is a real negative
