Are the "best of"still only available in OHC or are they in Omnibus format now? Or is there a solicitation? Is this the JMS that's been released? is the vol 2 going to include?
Very helpful video Omar. Thanks. I have a feeling that Marvel have undertaken an ASM reissue program spanning from "Brand New Day" to just before "Dying Wish". We've now seen new trades of "New Ways To Live" & "The Gauntlet Volume 1" which (along with the latest "Brand New Day Complete Collection Vols. 1-4" TPB's) have the same red spines as the "Dying Wish" TPB (leading into Superior), I expect there may be new trades to both upgrade also 'condense the book count' . The Brand New Day trades include all of the HC's to "Died in Your Arms Tonight", "New Ways..." trade contains the contents of "Red Headed Stranger" & "Return Of Black Cat", The Gauntlet Vol. 1 includes the first 3 HC volumes. I expect Vol. 2 will include the remaining 2 Gauntlet HC's. That leaves a gap (for me) of the next 3 HC's ("Grim Hunt" "Origin Of The Species" and "One Moment In Time") leading up to "Big Time" (yes Omar, I paused my TV to get a good look at your impressive ASM HC collection 😊). If it happens I will stop at the volume before "Big Time". Thankfully I'm not THAT OCD with spine colours lol. My collection is covered all the way to Superior & beyond. I just haven't bought the latest stuff by Nick Spencer. Hope this isn't too long winded for you. Just shows that I'm learning every day. 😊 Cheers mate. You inspired me to start my own Spider-man collection and for the last year and a half I've been collecting most of the material there is in OHCs and then Complete Collections and trades. No omnibus for me except those that aren't collected anywhere else. I was wondering, do you think I should have hopes for a Worldwide vol 4 OHC happening? Also, do you think they will collect the stuff that's between JMS and the end of the clone years somehow when they are done with the Epic Collections? I know it's impossible to know for sure but I could use an educated guess...
Yikes. I really want to read Dan Slott's run, but those books look like they are a mess in the way they are laid out. I imagine we will get omnis eventually, hopefully with everything in the correct order. Great videos though, these were really helpful.

I really like Marvel Putting a JMS Omni but if they don't include the whole "The Other" run in the second Omni I'm going to be disappointed. I know JMS didn't write the entire event but it would feel incomplete putting part of a story in a collection. I guess Slotts run doesn't have any kind of collection other than tpb/complete paperbacks? One thing I'm guessing The Gauntlet/Grim Hunt never got any sort of collection? I've looked around and can only find pieces of The Gauntlet. This collection reading order just shows me how much of Spider Man I've yet to catch up with. Normally I just read stuff I want but your reading order makes me want to read it in order!
There is an event called One More Day that reboots some of Peter's life and then we get Brand New Day. By the time Slott takes over he has a new status quo.
Would you recommend the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man by J. Michael Straczynski Omnibus for someone who's never read that run? The only thing I know about JMS is Sin's past which from what I've heard, I can go without.
I completely recommend it. It's a great jumping on point for new readers. Seriously, you won't regret it. Sin's Past and OMD are the two that were editorial pushed and were crap, but don't let that take away from the otherwise great run.

10:40 that was there i began collecting the Dansih version of the Spider Man issues. xD I keept going for around 3 years before they stop it because of declines in the sale. :( :/
@@NearMintCondition In Denmark they did not collect them in TBP or anything like they to in the US. But one issue was a mix between 2 Amazing Spider Man issues and sometime some stuff from the other Spider series. That can sound pretty weired, but this was due to that here there is not a culture for collecting comics in the same amount and we are a small country. o_O They did just stop puplishing Spider Man in Denmark back in 2011. :/

I've noticed that in Lucky to be alive the sec volume finishes at 18 do you have to buy the smaller volumes to complete the series or has another volume came out? It's a bit crap to bring out 18 issues in hardback when there were only 20+ in the first place

Jake, part one had the reading order that contains the original clone saga. Superior Spidey omnibus is one of my most wanted omnis, so I'm hoping it comes out sometime.
As someone who hasn’t read a lot of spider-man, is Red Goblin a book that can be read on its own, or would it need a lot of pre-game reading? Just intrigued by Norman Osborn with the Carnage symbiote
Awesome run through. The dumb numbering is why I DESPISE Marvel's constant yearly re-numbering...it was because people would be confused if the book had big numbers, but when you have 5 volumes of 1's,2's,3's etc, that's even WORSE if you are a casual fan just picking up books off the shelf. Anyways, I'm excited for the JMS omni, yet fearful that they will only put HIS stories in the books screwing up the crossovers. Both Marvel and DC are bad about that...I'd rather just a straight plain jane omni, vs a creator specific one if they aren't going to put ALL crossover issues NOT written by the one in it. Guess we'll have to wait and see how they handle it. I actually have a good majority of these and I didn't even realize LOL.
I hear you....that's pretty much the first omni worth right? If so, I'd skip the omni since you have the OHC"s and just get the 2nd one on (that's what I think I'd do) I don't have the ohc's so I'm all over the first omni...I loved MOST of JMS's run with the exceptions of Sins Past (shame the first omni ends on that crapfes), The Other (just didn't like them trying to movie-fy Peter w/ the organic web shooters: which, if you know me, is one of the reasons I despise the current GotG...can't STAND when the comics choose to follow the movies. SOMETIMES things work but more often than not they done imho) and of course...F One More Day (but i blame Quesada more than JMS for that shitefest)

That's what happens when the author designs the layout of the book, which is what Hickman has always done. It really also depends on the editor of the collected edition. Cory, the guy behind the X-men books is amazing with his mapping.
The Other and Civil War is when the JMS run took a turn into the shitter and then One More Day is where I stopped reading. Again. I did come back for the Spider-Verse book, which I agree, is a mess. I have no idea why they would list the reading order in the book instead of just put the issues in the reading order. -_- Haven't read anything since, but seriously, they did ANOTHER Clone Saga? That is what, the fourth iteration of it now?

There was only 30 something issues of volume 2 why not just go beyond that go back to 500 so they should knock stop the amazing Spiderman on epic collection
I would like them to print one through 700 then stop then do superior Spiderman volume one superior Spiderman only ran for 31 issues maybe two Vols And all new marvel now amazing Spiderman ran for 18 main issues plus some side issues

The Gauntlet and Grim Hunt all got tpb releases and premier HCs.

10:40 that was there i began collecting the Dansih version of the Spider Man issues. xD I keept going for around 3 years before they stop it because of declines in the sale. :( :/

@@NearMintCondition In Denmark they did not collect them in TBP or anything like they to in the US. But one issue was a mix between 2 Amazing Spider Man issues and sometime some stuff from the other Spider series. That can sound pretty weired, but this was due to that here there is not a culture for collecting comics in the same amount and we are a small country. o_O
They did just stop puplishing Spider Man in Denmark back in 2011. :/

We have two smallere comic book shops here in Denmark who get the amarican issues home but physical comis are not that popular here anymore. :/

I've noticed that in Lucky to be alive the sec volume finishes at 18 do you have to buy the smaller volumes to complete the series or has another volume came out? It's a bit crap to bring out 18 issues in hardback when there were only 20+ in the first place

Jake, part one had the reading order that contains the original clone saga. Superior Spidey omnibus is one of my most wanted omnis, so I'm hoping it comes out sometime.
As someone who hasn’t read a lot of spider-man, is Red Goblin a book that can be read on its own, or would it need a lot of pre-game reading? Just intrigued by Norman Osborn with the Carnage symbiote

Awesome run through. The dumb numbering is why I DESPISE Marvel's constant yearly re-numbering...it was because people would be confused if the book had big numbers, but when you have 5 volumes of 1's,2's,3's etc, that's even WORSE if you are a casual fan just picking up books off the shelf. Anyways, I'm excited for the JMS omni, yet fearful that they will only put HIS stories in the books screwing up the crossovers. Both Marvel and DC are bad about that...I'd rather just a straight plain jane omni, vs a creator specific one if they aren't going to put ALL crossover issues NOT written by the one in it. Guess we'll have to wait and see how they handle it. I actually have a good majority of these and I didn't even realize LOL.
I'm on the fence about the JMS omni. It's one of my favorite runs, but I own the Best of!!!
I hear you....that's pretty much the first omni worth right? If so, I'd skip the omni since you have the OHC"s and just get the 2nd one on (that's what I think I'd do) I don't have the ohc's so I'm all over the first omni...I loved MOST of JMS's run with the exceptions of Sins Past (shame the first omni ends on that crapfes), The Other (just didn't like them trying to movie-fy Peter w/ the organic web shooters: which, if you know me, is one of the reasons I despise the current GotG...can't STAND when the comics choose to follow the movies. SOMETIMES things work but more often than not they done imho) and of course...F One More Day (but i blame Quesada more than JMS for that shitefest)

Just bought the 7 white spine OHC’s, already had the Spider-verse and the 3 superiors. Not only the books themselves are a mess, but the whole line also! Wasn’t it for this video I wouldn’t have had a clue which books to buy. Are there any more to get besides these Omar?

Infinity was done so much better it's printed in reading order. I have the same problem with blackest night when it comes to reading order.
That's what happens when the author designs the layout of the book, which is what Hickman has always done. It really also depends on the editor of the collected edition. Cory, the guy behind the X-men books is amazing with his mapping.

I did come back for the Spider-Verse book, which I agree, is a mess. I have no idea why they would list the reading order in the book instead of just put the issues in the reading order. -_-

I will say even though I love 90s comics I can’t stand the Clone Saga or Ben Reilly makes no since that they got Omnis.
I hate sins pass with a passion this is why people should not go back to the past with stories and change it up unless it's really needed.
