    Love your channel, great content! Those are pretty decent little engines. I have a Predator 3500 inverter generator with the stock 212cc with 10,000 hours on it. I've cleaned the carbon build up on the heads several times. Also had too swap the head/valves recently cuz the valve seats were shot. Wish I had your expertise. I'm more of a hack than anything, but at least I've kept it running to keep the lights on. Keep up the good work, you guys are great.

    Looks like excessive heat stress fracturing there on the block. Doesn't look like wear and tear like something be hitting it. Just Looks like that is where a lot of heat pressure was building up. Might want to tig or jb weld that spot and give just that side a bit of heat shield cerakoting.

    The dust comes from the filter adapters to run the big filters. They need a gasket or oring or something. Had this same issue. The adapters just attach with set screws and aren't a tight fit as soon as the filter does its job air start going to the crack cause there is no restriction.

    Awesome timing, I was just thinking about getting a 212 to replace the stock 196 in my Coleman Minibike. I waited until I was ready to get the parts for a band brake assembly on the centrifugal clutch, and can do the whole thing at once. Because I live in a bunch of hills and ride downhill a lot, I wanted the peace of mind that I had two brakes. Whatever 212 I get will be to get me back up the hill, as the 196 just makes noise when I start from a complete stop on the hill and doesn't move.

I'm going to stop over there in the next couple of days and check one out. Maybe I can fab up the clutch band brake bracket and jack chain bracket together and swap out the whole thing at one time. Should I do a direct chain or keep the stock jack chain setup? How do you tension the chain without the jack chain tensioner?

    • @knowbull5hit590
      @knowbull5hit590 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mcdoctorglock if the 224 will work without interfering with the jackshaft it would be simpler to keep it(most likely). If not its usually pretty simple to delete if the engine and wheel sprockets are on the same side already. Unbolt it(or cut out if not possible), check sprockets are in line with each-other, run a longer chain and buy or build a tensioner. Im sure theres videos here on how to do that last part

    I'd like to see the tip of the oil-dipper.See the dent from the block.To me,the damage on the crank bearing looks like the oil had all baked off while it set,and turning it over ripped the plating off the bearing.You guys started it and there's the damage to the block as the crank tip hit it.
