I was watching another video on this topic and a comment said that, if you have a newer car, with fancier features, that you should NOT use a disconnect switch, as that power is needed for diff things within the car, even when idle, like the touch unlock, and stuff like your saved seat positions, and something about the ecm or w/e (like, my acura learns my driving style and adapts to how I push the gas pedal, apparently.)
"Replace every three years". I've got a USA made Optima Red that's at least 13 years old..., and still works perfectly. But I've heard their quality went down hill after Johnson Controls moved production to Mexico.
3 years??......My battery (an H8 AGM) turns 10 years old, in 2023. It has never failed to start in my unheated garage, in a Chicago suburb. I replaced the battery in my last car after 9 years because it started to turn over just a little slower than normal in sub 10F degree weather.
Out of experience ive learned that Bosch and Willard batteries are the best and last the longest.... And if u maintain them every few months by adding battery water when the level gets low it could last u up to 10 years
My car's battery is an Exide brand and dated Oct/16 and today's date is Aug/23. I was expecting you to mention this brand but you didn't. Anyway, it seems like no one has them anymore. 7 years lasted.
So lets say my car online says i need an H8 but i happen to have a very good nearly new H7 and it works or rather seems to work drove for 3 hours home does this need to be an H8 in the end? Will the H7 not be enough? Under powering or overpowering in some way? I do have a European luxury car but it is old from 01 my H7 is an AGM thanks in advance

Your battery should go for about $130.00 and they install for free. I did this last week. Keep your receipt for proof of purchase or they won’t guarantee.
I must say get the Autocraft Gold battery with the highest Cold Cranking Amps. Don’t forget to use that coupon code ordering on line. If you just go into the store to purchase you won’t get the discount.
Charging battery and while taking it out noticed a couple of things loose. I'll give it a lil time then try again. I bought one with Lil less CCA than the other one. CCA 540 instead of 585 . Might that be a problem ?
Good video almost makes up for the app insisting that I replace the battery every TWO (2) years (contrary to video and the app's battery test) . I've never had a battery that didn't get through 5 Chicago winters without a hint of trouble. I install the RIGHT size one after 5 years and keep the older one on a maintenance charger to jump start neighbors cars. The app also has inaccurate replacement part number information like group 24 batteries for Hondas that use 51R and have battery trays and shrouds that don't fit 24s. BTW all auto batteries sold in the US are made by three companies, Diehards are made by all 3.
well now i know what happened to my car. when this whole pandemic broke out in 2020 i didn't touch my car for almost a month then wondered why the battery died. haha

Are all car batteries the same size? Or do you just have to worry about the CCA number?
nope, very different sizes. it's the MOST important part of buying a battery
Also you want to check the manufacture date of the new battery. You want one close to the date you purchased.
