Nice haul--I love how Yeti pitched in! Did she just figure out what you were hunting on her own; or, have you been working to train her as an antler-hunting dog?
Thank you Wil! It was such a fun day! We trained Yeti a little bit, but she just naturally brings us all kinds of bones… odds are that one will eventually be a deer or elk shed lol 😂 She definitely prefers deer sheds over elk sheds though. Shes pretty soft-mouthed and the elk sheds are a little too heavy for her to drag through the brush

The weight, plus the leverage that large elk antlers apply to a dog's jaws, teeth and gums definitely occurred to me as a potential obstacle to her enthusiasm when I watched Yeti bring in back-to-back deer antlers. Hmm 🤔, wouldn't it be cool if you could have her wear a GPS receiver and teach her to walk a couple circles around any elk antlers she located while you were hunting elsewhere 😁! That way, you could just review her GPS track and go to the circled locations 😂🤣!
@@willong1000 haha! Thats a good idea! We’ve wanted to put a gps on her anyway just to see how far she goes every day! It’s incredible how she just runs circles around us ALL DAY 😂 I wouldn’t be surprised if she covers at least 5X what we do in a day

There are plenty that get left. You couldn’t find them all if you wanted to! We’ve found old ones in spots where we have gone for years, we are always amazed at how many we end up missing lol

we need to start a protest at jackson hole for not letting non residents in on fedral land Just think your state may be the only state u can shed hunt some day
That’s a good point… restricting non-residents from public land when it doesn’t even involve the harvest of game animals seems like a bit of overreach by WGFD. But Wyoming is big on serving their residents first, and I definitely respect that 😊 I am disappointed that we can’t do Jackson any more though 😕
