Great video, thanks! Is there any way to change the colors on that one from the typical red and white? The clear dome pods have 4 color capability. Best regards for now
Stuart Hartstein Two things control what colors can be displayed - pod capability and the bar's firmware. Not all clear domed or multicolor pods have four color capability (i. e. four colors of diodes installed). And, even if a pod has four color capability, the firmware still has to also have four color capability programmed into it. The above bar has a custom FDNY firmware that only includes red/white patterns.
Thankyou, for your quick reply as well as for your valuable info! I had a feeling I was correct as to the bars programming from the factory, depending on the type of agency it is for. I have the same style bar as you are displaying with 2 red domes on the ends and a clear center which I can see the 4 possible colors. Yours is very prestigious to own from FDNY? I got this one from the Midwest off Ebay, so definitely not an FDNY light. I also had to do a little rewiring to the ground side of the bar but I got it working nicely none the less? I'm glad to have it as it is! Enjoy yours and again THANKYOU! Stay safe and be well!
Depends on if it is an FDNY labeled model or just a standard model. If the latter, they are in production so worth is whatever they cost new minus a discount for it being second hand. If an FDNY labeled model, that likely won't mean anything to someone who plans to actually put it in service but it may if you find the right collector. Still, I don't think the value would be any more than new cost (and maybe not even that) simply because there is an upper limit on what collectors will pay and these are pricey units.
FDNY models aren't publicly available. Mini SLRs can be purchased new from any Federal Signal dealer. They don't come up for sale used very often but you can look in the usual places for used goods.
Thank you for demonstrating a “head on” video so we can really get a sense of the brightness. Looks awesome!
I love those sounds
I love that light bar
ohh it is fantastic! i love it!
That is sick!!! I need one, lol!
Beautiful
If it’s for New York it should also have a car horn that blares whenever turned on
Отлично!
I wish we could get things used like this in Canada
Most agencies destroy equipment that’s removed from service up this way
That's true in the US now as well, volunteer and smaller agencies being the exception. Occasionally, though, something unique finds its way out.

I have one of these brand new. Can you tell me what it is worth? What are you using to control it?

To answer your second question, the minis and splits use trigger wires so any controller will work.
man, where can i get this?
Federal still makes 3-pod Vision SLRs, though they obviously aren't FDNY marked.
where can I buy one?

smart...
Beautiful but extortionately expensive :>\
