Yeah, but tired of running everything bleed ~_~ lots of bosses resistant to bleed in the DLC too
I made a Dryleaf + Rellana Swords build. Mostly for the cool and fun factor, but it’s actually pretty good.
Changed Dryleaf’s affinity to Cold, which is similar to bleed. It gains B scaling for intelligence, and C for STR and DEX.
Which pairs super well with Rellana’s blades.
This turned me into a knight who can use those 2 cool swords, but also switch to hand-to-hand combat whenever I want. Very fun!

You can get to the dryleaf whirlwing ash of war without beating the boss in the shadow keep. Instead of going through the front of the shadow keep you can keep going through the hole in Moorth Ruins where you get the Golden Arcs incantation. You'll come to a ladder further down that brings you out in a different area, just keep going forward on the path visible on the map and you can get to a back entrance to the Shadow Keep. From the back entrance you can weave through the Shadow Keep and come out at the West Rampart and continue from there.

I got a scarlet rot ash of war called “the poison flower blooms twice” or something like that put it on the dry leaf arts it’s pretty damn good😂 the ash of war triggers scarlet rot, and the weapon causes poison build up, so those 2 combined with you rapidly attacking is amazing chip damage, and if you wanna just play defensively and run away after poisoning them you can. The ash of war also has a unique ability where if you use it on a enemy that’s already been poisoned or has rot build up, they take a damage proc, as if it was bleed or frost build up. The animation for it is sick too, it’s a dive kick. So aesthetically it suits the weapon really well. I already forgot where and how I found it but I’ve been having a blast with that combo

Poison Flower Blooms Twice is essentially a Kamen Rider Kick.
choose Braggerts Roar WA for its extra buff + change on heavy that will proc the elemental since the normal attacks have an amazing speed and the jumping attack that also hits pretty nicely. the Raptors Black Feathers armor gives extra jump attack dmg

I've found that Palm Blast isn't a skill that's meant to chain in with your attacks but it's one hell of a stagger critical hit replacer. You charge that thing fully up with the right talismans (Alexander Shard, Godfrey, etc) and I've found to do a lot more damage than a regular stagger critical hit. I only wish that the Palm Blast and the Divine Beast Frost Stomp both counted as Storm skills then it would work out wonderfully for a build I'm working on.
I'm trying to find the right blend of hand to hand and a Storm build using the new Lion Dancer Head/Storm Magic talisman. I've come up with some things and it's still a work in progress but it's certainly possible DLC late game and can be powerful.
I put blood on mine with the hourah loux earthshaker for wide range. I've never caused so much bleed so fast with any weapon other than my occult dual hoslow whips

Shattered Stones talisman is a good substitute for erdtree's favor up kicking/stomping skills

if you double hand it it can be helpful for better dodges but its very minimal if you don't usually dodge much anyways, if you like using shield then medium equip is fine.
Im enjoying bloodclaw explosion and the granq boulder incantation hahahahahah
it's great for closing distance when chasing down people during invasions or surprising people with the delayed explosion on bloodclaw

Yes , it scails in dex and a little strength but the damage numbers are better even tho the strength scaling is lower .

How do you put flame affinity on your dryleaf? My only option when putting on whirlwind is standard. I have all whetstones
Fixed my own problem. It seemed that when the DLC dropped some of my character's data got fucked up, and I had to fix stuff with Cheat Engine. The game thought I had no whetstones even though I had all of them.
What is a better secondary incantation instead of the golden barrier thing because I already burnt the errtree

When you double jump at 5:37 it actually increases the amount of damage you take because fall damage is calculated by time in the air not the distance you have fallen.
its already been figured out that fall damage is calculated by your jump spot to land spot height and unless you stuck in the falling animation the time does not change anything

SOLUTION - go to redmane castle and you need to pick up this flame blade to be able to put flame affinities to the ash of war

My build is a hybrid of Rellana’s blades and Dryleaf Arts. I change between the two on the fly, and it’s easy to pair them together. (Plus looks super cool)
Maybe you can try running both as well.
I still think backhand is going insane. Insane dmg + insane feeling play this and moovset is crazy. I love backhand.

@@badasstoad9419this is exactly what i do. Since both weapons weigh like nothing ill often also carry dark moon greatsword, a frost great katana, or a frost/holy backhand blade in my 3rd slot.

Why is your affinity scaling so much higher than mine? Mine puts the scaling for faith in the D scaling for the flame art affinity. Did I miss an item or something?

You may be missing the whetblade for that variant, it’s the Red Hot Whetblade I believe.
(you find it in Redmane Castle, near the Abductor Virgin)

how did you get your base attack power to 671? I got 75 faith, flame art dryleaf arts to 25, erdtree seal to 10, I do not have the erdtrees favor though.

Is the dryleaf arts better than the dane's footwork?
What is better? Beast claws or dry leaf arts? As soon as I saw dry leaf in the trailer I wanted to use them but the beast claws are pretty fun too.
I will say Dryleaf more than likely has a faster hit rate, with steadier numbers. So far the only beast claws I've found are basic claws, and the red bears claws (which is a legendary weapon, so no buffing or ash of war). You can customize the basic claws, but the unpredictable movements of the claws don't really seem to benefit basic PVE much. As far as I can tell anyway.

99 STR and heavy infused appears to do better damage against most enemies without the need to use any buffs.

You need wet stones for affinitys. Look up where to get em. I know the one he is using is somewhere in radons castle where u gang up on that man.

How about Claw Talisman and Shattered Stone Talisman? Does the whirlwind kicks count as jump attack? I'm thinking these two may be better in a boss fight since I won't be doing much combo hits and benefits from Rotten Winged Sword Insignia...and the Shattered Stone will benefit both whirlwind and jump R2 kicks I suppose? If so it should be better than Shard of Alexander which only benefit the whirlwind skill. Does anyone know the damage % increased comparison?

Godfrey Icon vs Alexanders Shard... I've always had this doubt. Would they do the same thing or is it really different?
both have a 15% increase in damage. shard of alexander buffs ALL ashes of war while godfrey icon only buffs chargeable ashes and spells. there really is no reason to pick godfrey over shard unless you use charged spells. the question is rather if you use godfrey instead of another talisman. if you use palm blast then shard + godfrey icon offers the best damage. godfrey icon has no effect on whirldwind as it is not chargeable. so shattered stone talisman would be the obvious pick instead.

I dont understand, I have all the same stats and incantations etc but I am only getting around 300 damage for my r1 armanent

I infused mine with a cold infusion it’s pretty nasty for talismans I use the rotten wing sword, axedanders shard, the blessed dew for a little regen on my mana and then the shattered stone talisman which buffs stomp and kick attacks. For the armor I use the rakshasa armor which buffs your outgoing damage at the cost of taking more damage. For stats I went 60 into str dex int and vigor then the rest into endurance and mind. If you wanted more damage you could swap belled dew for Millicent prosthesis
how do you get cold infusion? i don’t see that option
@@Lee-ew6pr get the glintstone whetblade from Raya Lucaria academy, then you can unlock the cold and magic infusion in your weapons

They have same scaling and damage, Dane's Footwork just has more kicks and different heavies

You don’t have to beat the boss here you can go through the tunnel from Church District Highroad to the Entrance and get there that way😊

What better between the dryleafs and danes footwork?
I noticed the footwork has slower animation speeds, theoretically with the kick talisman it would do more damage but it also leaves you more vulnerable during bosses based on my own experience.
I just found the Shattered Stone Talisman that “Raises potency or kicking and stomping skills”, would this work with the weapon art?
