@@motivepigeon The Savage Claws ash of war absolutely wrecks certain enemies, especially with status effects. I honestly couldn't believe how easy it was to stun lock Malenia to death.
@TheLordofChampions I love to run those for pve, but for pvp, I love the raging beast. It's got a dash with i-frames and directional control. The heavy follow is risky, but you can do an r1 instead or anything else really. I like to use the follow up once or twice a battle and then switch it up with a spell. It's been a great counter to the swift slash as well.
@@dangeroushandlesyou are completely correct. the 20% DMG negation debuff frost applies allows more overall damage. especially when you factor in the the more you proc a status on an enemy the more they become more resistant to it.
If you have something that will do more than the 10% of max HP damage that frostbite does per proc then maybe, you can easily achieve 4-5 frostbite procs using this method. Additionally, you can add bleed procs, which also deal 10% of max HP damage. As mentioned in the video, frostbite acts as a secondary bleed-style proc, effectively enhancing your damage output massively
@ArekkzGaming it would also depend on how much ar the weapon does. If it's just for proc your right bit if has decent damage it could swing the other way
Poisen beast claws with blooms twice ashe of war fits really well too. In pvp people usually back up from the claws to where the ashe of war becomes more likley to hit, and the beast claws actually have a feint with a pretty big backstep and forward r1 right after. Add all 3 and you can really suprise people jumping all over the battlefield.

You can do this with a select few weapons in base game too like the Scavenger's Curved Sword, then stack it with the mask that boosts damage after a bleed proc, then the a few jump attack items like the chest piece and talismans. Boost that further with the DLC armour that'll give you like 4% more damage for gauntlets and boots etc etc It's a well known build. Just look up "OP curved blade build" and you'll find what you're looking for. These claws are just a fun alternative version but not as powerful.
Add Malenia's rune and Thorny + new lifesteal cracked tears and you will probably be able to outheal the dmg you take so you pretty much will be able to facetank a lot of bosses.
For the left hand claw you can use some ash of war as well. you can use some AoE to get a lot of foes at once. Or you can use a buff ash of war, like Braggart's Roar, even if the heavy attack changes, you are not using it anyway.
Been dual weilding magma blade from the manor with the new talisman, and it’s hard to get the weapon especially two of them but they are insane and are easily the best looking weapon in the game
Resetting Frostbite is a noob trap. Getting 20% more damage for the duration is way better then the subsequent procs of frostbite, especially since bosses gain more resistances after each proc. I would rather use Lightning or Magic instead of fire, or just double down on bleed. I would also switch those points in faith into Int for more magic damage, or Arcane for more bleed, then outsource Golden Vow to the Ash. But still, i personally like Faith since Golden Vow is not the only buff you get, you can also use Howl of Shabriri for more damage, and get some healing with Blessings Boon and Heal from afar, and Flame cleanse me is nice for just going around.
I'm looking to run poison bleed these using the upgraded frost stomp as of war but this video maybe I stick with poison / bleed and continue with my anvil hammer as back up.
I just wish the bear arms had a faster ash of war like the regular beast claws. The bear arms are pretty cool aesthetically, but the beast claws are WAY faster with the ash of war.
Had this as an option on my assassin golden order build, but used the normal claw weapons. Slap endure on it, godskin swaddling cloth, defense talisman and physic, plus rotten wing and successive attack talisman and you can outtrade Melania, and slap her greatrune on it and you can melt any humanoid dlc boss. Outraged Rellana first try with that.
Just in time for the 3rd playthrough on my new character for the DLC. This looks fun so I tried this build. I used the same talismans but because i have 50 END, I replaced the two-headed turtle talisman with the Godskin swaddle cloth. Im using Melania's Great rune and for the Physick, Im using Thorny Cracked Tear and Crimson-sapping Cracked Tear. During boss fights, Im using the Ironjar Aromatic along with using Endure every 3 secs. This allows me a nearly uninterruptable scratching of the boss while regenerating HP each hit. Im having so much fun with this build.
Good point, that was my second choice. However, I went with the Beastclaws because they allow you to fully spec into Strength rather than having to invest in INT for the cold effect. The passive fire effect is cool on the shortswords though, and I love the daggers' L1 power stance attack.

I was aware of the frostbite/fire damage interaction, I'm just not convinced that the initial frostbite proc damage is better than the frostbite debuff. And that being the case, I don't see a reason to go so far out of my way to set this up, especially when it requires two of an item you can only get once per playthrough.
It was my first weapon of the dlc, never managed to let go of them. So fun to play :D Now I used them with a dragonstone build, melts everything. Dragon build are crazy now
@@Xadriel57 well, this IS it ? You're using the "dragon stone" to transform yourself into a dragon, removing your Armor. then when you use or again you get for free a 20% buff to all your dragon incantation. It's not really that comolicated 🤔

i was under the assumption that fire damage ruined the cold build up causing it to never proc but now that i know that's not true i kinda want to give cold status more love
Why not do offhand cold. Mainhand heavy. Use blood flame incantation. Keep the blood build up going and get a bit extra damage out of the claws from strength modifier.
Isn't Alexanders Shard with 15% better with more % and beeing more consistently than Milicent Prosthesis? Edit: I saw Alexanders Shard boosts Skills... if we use the talent/skill of the weapon wouldn't this count?
The frostbite proc damage is generally going to be less impactful than the debuff so this is actually not optimal. Youre better off with just frost and bleed.
A better setup would be cold in the left hand and heavy/keen/quality in the right hand with bloodflame blade. Same concept with the fire but higher blood buildup

That's my build, I powerstance them inflicting poison, rot, and bleed all at the same time without having to buff or coat my armaments. Definitely a fun build that can build up damage really quickly! I killed NG+ Mogh before he was able to scream Nihil a second time haha
you'd be way better off making the second claw a straight bleed claw (assuming the first one is frost with reduced bleed). It's better to leave the frostbite debuff on the target than trying to reset it (for like 95% of mobs), and you'd get far more bleed procs on your frostbitten target. But really, you'd be even better off going the venomous fang route, blood and rot exultations, both successive hit medallions, and the white mask, with the cragblade bleed affinity. The procs. buffs, and damage are insane.
Hmm what about dual wielding Carian Spellswords? Their use is light attack with a heavy doing spell casting... But if you get two... The left hand weapon can still dual wield attack but use a ash if war as well?
I really don't like attacking with the L1 to get the faster and full attack chain. Is there anyway around this? The R1 just does the 1h version of the combo.
Ah the "Kiba Inazuka" beast claws. I actually really want to play with these but theres so much new stuff. Side note i wish the white mask didn't look so awful because i play fashion ring. What im wondering is if Mogh's great rune stacks with lord of blood's exultation
Interesting build, but isn't simply better to keep the frostbite on enemies for extra damage without sacrificing power-stancing heavy moveset? Or to use heavy affinity with the Bloodflame Blade for more blood loss procs?
Tried both, found having this setup did more damage as the procs happen rapidly with the combination of frostbite and bleed. The beastclaws have decent frostbite at base with 105 so that factors into it. Give it a go and you will see what I mean.
@@ArekkzGaming I see, 105 frostbite build up does sound like a lot for a fast hitting weapon such as beast claw despite the fact that only some hits counts towards that. However small motion values of beast claw attacks applies to the status build up as well (does not apply to the Bloodflame Blade). On top of that, there is a dimishing return for status effect procs and some enemies are resistent or immune altogether so it might not be as reliable in some scenarios. It's a cool idea and I might give it a try in second playthrough, but there are definitelly some drawbacks to consider.
Those are obvious draw backs but they don't hinder this build as everything get destroyed before you even have to worry about that. The dimishing returns sound worse than it is on paper and if it was that bad then bleed builds wouldn't be as popular as they are as. You could always use the heavy and bloodflame combo on your off hand for this build as well so you have the best of both worlds.
dryleaf works but does significantly less damage. dryleaf arts aren't very good right now as their scaling is worse than not only the beast claws, but normal claws and fist weapons too. their main utility comes from palm blast with it's absurd damage, hyper armor and good stance break potential. do whatever you think is more fun though

Ive been using Divine Beast Ice Stomp on my claws. Great mid range and aoe option for when getting in close with the claws is difficult. Also gives the cold infusion so it would fit nice here
They need more ash of wars like these for the fist weapons and claw Weapons also I think the move sets could be faster or more movement for fist weapons but they ain’t gonna do that

Use Frost one in off hand, use heavy with bloodflame blade on main = more bleed, same frostbite

Yeah, all the fireknight stuff is awesome but if you spec into faith they slap even more!

You can change the ash on the scarlet rot hammer and keep the rot as well. Used that in the base game.
9:43 you could potentially use Malenia’s Great Rune for health back on attack, if that makes sense
just throw on the large jar helm and yeet big pots as part of the unga bunga as well, comes in handy if you're trying to pvp and need a ranged option.

Ive been using Divine Beast Ice Stomp on my claws. Great mid range and aoe option for when getting in close with the claws is difficult. Also gives the cold infusion so it would fit nice here
They need more ash of wars like these for the fist weapons and claw Weapons also I think the move sets could be faster or more movement for fist weapons but they ain’t gonna do that
