    Hi Kyle,
Great video. Today I replaced the rear pads and rotors on my 2017 S60 R-Design (after only 45K miles. You were absolutely correct with the calliper bracket bolts. Mine were impossibly difficult to remove but I got there in the end.
With regard to winding the EPB back to allow the compression of the piston once I had done this I then re-assembled the brake with the new pads and rotor and fitted the calliper without fitting the EPB motor. I then wound the EPB motor drive until the pads were gripping the rotor. Once done I then wound the motor drive back one complete turn. The EPB motor was then refitted and everything was tightened up.
Once both sides were done I then carried out a functional chek of the EPB. I have heard of people getting warning lights on their dashboard, probably due to the EPB trying to readjust to the new equipment. By doing what I did the EPB operated first time and there were no warning lights.
I hope this helps the next person doing this particilar job.

Good video. It helped me know what to do with the electronic parking brake. The two long bolts that he took out first really did not need to be removed because once the mounting bolts were removed the caliper will slide off of the Carriage bracket. Separating the two parts helps get a C-clamp on to the caliper to compress the actuator piston. Thank you for the video it was well recorded, clear and well-thought-out. Good job and I really liked videos where people explain things instead of it just being silent movies.

Excellent video. I had trouble was not sure about phow to draw the caliper piston back in. Your video made it easy. You also took the time to make certain notes of what to expect when unscrewing the two T30 screws from there EB motor. They should both be cleaned with brake cleaner well then slightly tapped on top with T30 tool inserted. This way you avoid stripping the inside of the head. You did a nice job and kept video moving along. Thank you.

Hi the 2 bolts you had difficulty removing on the caliper support. I was able to remove my worn disc without removing the bracket bolts. So l could then clean and lubricate the exposed end of the thread of the bolt where it was corroded. I then removed the bottom bolt and slackened the top bolt to swing the bracket out of the way and fit the new disc.

Kyle, great video, but I ran into an issue: I have solid rear rotors on my 2015 V60 T5, but sought to install vented rotors on the rear axles. So, I purchased genuine Volvo rotors and Bosch pads. I started the install only to discover the caliper brackets are different and will not fit over the vented rotors. So, I went to Volvo's website to purchase brackets for the vented rotors, only to discover it is nearly impossible to identify which of the caliper brackets in their catalog is a fit for which application. I may likely have to visit a dealer to get the correct bracket. You may want to add this distinction to your lead-in.

4:42 The ventducts has nothning to do with the brand. Rear discs for that S60 generation comes in 2 variants. Solid and vented. You have to make sure that you put on the same type you take off. They are not interchangeable (as far as I´m concerned, the vented disc is wider)

You turned that center bolt that you uncovered when you took the electronic brake motor off so you could compress the piston in the caliper. Do you have to turn that bull back the opposite direction once you replace the pads or do you just leave it alone?

After the piston has been pushed back, and it all back together, do you just pump the brake pedal first and then push the electric parking brake after.

I have a question if possible. On my Volvo S60/2015/T3/150HP the rear brake discs are single walled 11mm. I accidentally ordered double walled ventilated (22mm) that look just like those you replace here. Do you think that these double walled will fit on my car? Could it be that my original ones are single walled, due to a relatively small gasoline engine, and the car is lighter than station wagons with for instant diesel engine? So mine might be able to fit, but will be a bit "overkill" for my car? I am wondering if the caliper is standard, so it still will be able to fit, as said the new ones are 22mm and the old ones are 11mm.

I'm new with volvo's but I ended up replacing the rear brakes using a rear brake tool like on most cars since the rears are threaded. Will this damage or send a code? A lot of forums say to put the car in a safe mode? And others say do it like I did it. But your video shows removing the EBM and thread it in by itself first, then compress the piston like the front. Just trying to find out what methods are correct.

Those EPB systems seem similar on a lot of cars now. And you don’t need a computer to do the job. For instance here is the job I did on a Landrover Discovery Sport: th-cam.com/video/0L7M6tg_rug/w-d-xo.html

Great video. One tip...WAY easier to actuate the rear parking brake w/ a 9 volt battery. Takes all of 10 seconds and no need to disassemble the electric parking brake motor. This video shows how: th-cam.com/video/8y54DKRHlAo/w-d-xo.html
