    I remember doing this on my e90 335. I took them off baked them. I used a dermal to just cut the trim of the headlight. I did the bavgruppe halos and demon eyes on all 4 projectors. I painted the housing black too. When sealing the headlight i bought jb weld black sealant. Pressed the lens to the headlight together for about an hour and cured within a few hours

    All you need on the 335 e's are the updated double slot grilles, window tints, a m4 style trunk lip, and of course the white angel eyes, and the side blinker leds, the interior white leds, then these things look so new and insane.

    To open up the lens you have to put it in an oven with the temperature around 150 to 175 degree's for about 5 to 10 minutes to soften the seal. Monitor the housings while in the oven. It is easy when you have a second person to help you. I've done this 2 times with my E90 LCI. I recommend to put a moisten towel on a large baking sheet to prevent the plastic from melting.

    You can get headlights back to brand new... You need to sand and polish, then hit them with 2k clear. Regular clear will turn yellow to quick. Those kits aren't really aggresive enough and the sealer is shit.

    I have a 2007 E83 and I replaced both my headlight lenses with no issues. There are about 6 small torx PK screws also holding the front lens to the main plastic body. A couple were hidden behind some bent rubber hoses which act as air vents. I used a heatgun to soften the butyl rubber only. I did not use acetone. I ran the heat gun around the headlights several times taking care not to apply too much heat. I used plastic pry tools to gradually force the front lens away from the main headlight body. There are some lift up clips also holding the front lens in place. I ended up breaking one or two off but simply used superglue to glue them back in place. I applied additional butyl rubber strips (available eBay) where necessary on re-assembly. The plastic tab clips seem to be used mainly for alignment purposes rather than as support for the front lens. The first light I did took much longer than the second and the second was a breeze once I got the hang of how to do it. I wouldn't use acetone anywhere near my headlights as it can damage the plastic and internal headlight paint.

    You think you could have baked them to get the lens cover off as well? At least that's what us E46 facelift coupe owners have to do to get our cracked open for a simple AE install.
    On another note, I'll never forget my roommate coming home and asking what I was baking in the oven. Told him to check and his face when he saw my headlights in there was priceless.

    percision race works might have some dtm halos that just use stock halo mounts, which means no gluing. I did theban grapes RGBW dam rings with a brow. NEVER AGAIN they look fine but so tedious. Also coding and wiring a plug and play harness was a bitch.

    The side markers on the fender I know they have a sequential feature, but sometimes they dont do that when used as a turn signal when the car is running and just blink normally. I find they only do the sequential blink only when the is off and hazards are on. Is this typical?

    You should have got angle eyes since you took off the lenses. I put some on my e39 and they look really good. They have kits for e90's and e46's and he's a pretty cool person. it def makes your car look a lot better with the angle eyes on your headlights they also have amber switchbacks whenever you put your turn signal on. His name is the angle eye guy you can find his website if you look it up

  • @jeffduncan7685
    @jeffduncan7685 ปีที่แล้ว

    My headlights were yellow and I just sanded them down, and kept going to finer and finer sandpaper, then finished them off with finishing compound, they look brand new. I know they will yellow again, usually withing 2 years but I can simply repeat the process. The whole process only took me about 1 hour, and after watching how much hell you had, I would rather do this as many times as I can before having to go to this extreme. I know sooner or later I will have to replace the lens, wish they would go back to real glass but that is not ever going to happen, they can cut cost and it does make it a bit lighter not that I would say you would notice it, and if they were made out of tempered glass they would really be resistant to breaking unless you get into a wreck.
    The black does look good but I think I still like the chrome better. Makes you a bit more visible and with todays drivers, you almost need a flashing lights all over your car to keep from getting hit.
    I was watching your other video on the inside panel upgrades and I am doing the screen with the Android 11 panel, but I am going to upgrade the main dashboard panel as it gives me a real temp gauge instead of my car possibly overheating from an idiot light, I want to know my engine is getting hotter than it should before it gets so hot it is basically is to late and I am shelling out 7-10k for a new engine and labor, but that is a 1k upgrade that will have to come at a later time unless you know where I can get one cheaper.

    • @VehicleVirals
      @VehicleVirals  ปีที่แล้ว

      We carry the head unit and cluster on our website fyi.
      Not sure what you're referring to when it comes to engine oil temperature. If you're referring to the digital cluster, it monitors everything the OEM one does.

    • @jeffduncan7685
      @jeffduncan7685 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VehicleVirals My BMW does not show any temps or if it does I have not found it. I like seeing my temperatures, and as of now I do not see any way of actually seeing if the car is running at a normal temperature or if maybe it is getting hotter than normal, once the car hits the warning light that says "Temperature or HOT" not sure what it says yet as I have not hit a temperature that shows me a warning. Even if there is a way to see the temperature I want to be able to see it all the time like cars did back in the day of regular gauges that show real time temperatures with needles. I like knowing what my alternator is doing, what my trans is doing, and water temperature. I mean we get a gauge that shows are current fuel level, we get a gauge for speed, RPM, I want to monitor my other items.
      Like I posted before, usually before an idiot light or warning pops up on these newer cars saying "Hey stupid I am HOT stop and find out why, and then go "oh while your at it start looking for a new motor" I want to know long before it happens, as soon as something is out of normal operating temperature, I want to know.
