Nigella Lawson is the reason I started paying attention to my cooking and to actually start to enjoy it. I remember being totally enthralled when her show first aired here in the states. This is still one of my all time favorite desserts. Both to eat and to make.
This trifle took me 2 hours to make when I made it for the 1st time for Christmas dinner 2 years ago. It tasted fresh and delicious but it does take a long time especially the 1st time around as everything is made from scratch.
I will always love Nigella lawson and her cooking . I just love everything about Nigella lawson. She is awesome and beautiful . Great chef . Merry Christmas Nigella and happy holidays Kind Regards Cheers HISHAM ELFIKI
This is a great way to cook and one of the best ways to be shown. Please watch carefully as you will be show the meecrowarvey at the end ladies and gentlemen.
When I was a child in New Zealand 🇳🇿 I remember a recipe that was : Graham Crumbs on the bottom, Raisins, Chocolate , white Icing . Never seen it since ( 1965 )
That reminds me of crushed salted pretzels mixed with butter, and pressed into a glass casserole dish, then making raspberry gelatin, you put fresh or frozen thawed raspberries and pout that on the crust, next the creamcheese and whipped cream topping that is blended together, refriderate for a few hours, and it's so yummy for a special occasion.
Trifle is meant to be spooned into desert bowls. It’s never something which is presented neatly, like one would cut a cake or a flan. Check out ‘Eton Mess’, another quintessential British desert. Some deserts are just ladled into a bowl and enjoyed - I’m surprised by your comment. I’m assuming you’re not from the UK, but seriously… would you “cut and serve” ice cream? If neat presentation is your concern, you can make individual portions in glass ramekins.
@@ah7910 Not from the UK, thus the question! No need to be condescending, seriously! I am sure there are plenty of foods around the world you have no clue how to serve! P.S. Ice cream cake is cut and served!
I’d have to add Sherry and brandy in a trifle, even in Christmas cake Sherry and brandy goes in,might try port this yr though never drank or tried port before
The whole point of raining day cooking is take all the time you need in the kitchen, to get a pack of store brought sponge cake. And don’t forget the sponge cake is the best thing in this recipe.
Nigella, how to serve it out and what to plate it in? Would've loved a demonstration of that as well as a taste test of your own creation, being the culinary goddess that you are, love 😊
For quite a few years I'v been searching for a way to find where I can purchase that two wonderful pans Nigella used on this recipe, but my search has been totally blind. There's someone who might tell me what's their brand and where to find? I would appreciate utmost

Always a pleasure... And the vodka won't interfere too much with the raspberry flavour as well as the colour. Smart!!! As always.
I've been making this trifle since I first saw you make it all those years ago. It's one of my favorite desserts. Always a crowd pleaser!
Gave this a try the other day and the entire family loved it!!
Always amazing …always Nigella!..I have her cookbooks but it’s better to watch her cook.
Finally a trifle I can get aboard with. Usually they are so muddied that you can't distinguish the layers.
Love a raspberry trifle but I use Aberlour whisky in mine, complements the raspberries very nicely.
Sherry ❤

A slightly different approach, but really nice!..And her custard looked as smooth as silk!
This is the 70th trifle video I've watched! Can someone, PLEASE, show me how to cut and serve it?

@@JR-lw3ms Don’t be sour grapes you were offered very sound advice. :) Ice cream cake is slightly different from regular ice cream.
@@manmaje3596 Bless your heart, dear!
"Spoon it out "is the usual way
I love how she take all that cake pot at the end. I thought she would slice it and put it in a plate. lol

Can kids eat that trifle?
Give them a spoon !! They will....
Nigella Plz strain the raspberry’s! Too many seeds!
Oh god why ruin it with something as stark and horrid as vodka?!?!
Something like marsala or even vermouth surely?
Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry

U have everything in ur kitchen but still u using both ur hand on soaked trifle bread.. hygiene plss
Why would it be unhygienic to use both hands? If one hand is clean, it's likely the other is too (and vice versa).

I don't get there hype over this cook?
I'm soz not soz Nigella but your moans and groans sound more like the bathroom than the bedroom - let alone the kitchen!
Less hands all over the food would be good. .. Such a sloppy cook...maybe that's the sign of a good cook? 😳
