    After taking the belt off, loosen the bottom bolt, take out the top bolt completely, pull the alternator fwd. You'll be able to remove the cable, plus you'll have better access to the bottom bolt. When putting the alternator in, go in reverse. With the alternator fwd on the bracket, you can easily re-insert the bottom bolt, tighten to the point where it almost tight, but you can still push the alternator up on the bracket. Put cables back in, push fwd and bolt the top, then tighten the bottom.

    Thanks for the video. Almost gave up trying to get the alternator out till I saw your screw driver prying on the bottom method. I squirted a little bit of WD-40 on each side of the bolt hole and moved the alternator back and forth several times to work the WD-40 into friction area. It then came right out by prying with the screwdriver and moving alternator back and forth.

    Thank you for your video! I have a 2010 Acura TSX and had to change my alternator today as preventative maintenance. AAA said it needs to be replaced though I wasn't certain since it seemed to be still good after some testing. Since I had 150k miles on my car, I decided to swap it out. I ran into the same problems as you. It took me more than 45 minutes to pry the alternator out after removing the two bolts holding it to the engine. But after watching you video, I was able to find the location to pry. After being able to pry it out after probably 2 hours, everything else went smoothly. Thank you again! Your video saved me and many others I am certain!

    Thanks bro. Wish I had watched your video prior, could have saved myself some time. Getting the alternator out was also very difficult for me as well, lots of wiggling lol

    Use some Water Displacement, 40th Formula to get the alternator out of the bracket it helps a ton.

    Good job. To have some more space you can lift out the coolant overflow tank and put it aside.

    On a 6 cylinder 3.5 you have to do a lot of different stuff. You have to take the bracket off that holds the cable that runs to the alternator hook up. There's some weird hook up that runs through this cable patch that hooks up to the engine under the alternator, but the cable is connected to the back of the alternator. You have to take that off. Then you have to make sure you take both of those cowlings off, those black covers that cover the radiator and the side where the radiator fluid is and the window cleaner fluid. Then the little bottle that holds the radiator fluid, you have to take it off and take the bracket off that holds it in place. Then you can orient the alternator so you can slide it out of there. And remember exactly how you slid it out because that's the same position you have to use to put it back in there. Remember to start from the bottom when reinstalling the serpentine belt. If you are replacing the alternator I would go ahead and replace the belt.

      Why there no videos for the V6! How did you get to the bolt that's directly in front of the tensioner?? I'm watching these videos of the 4 bangers for reference and they looked easy enough to do but I'm on my 5th hour!😭

    I'll be replacing mine eventually alongside the idler pulley, tensioner... oh and just for your sake, get a 24f battery and gently put the 51r in the bin. Never mind if you live in the south, but cca power and battery juice is better since swapped mine. Ez and tons of vids on the net!

    Man I can’t see where’s the bolt below the alternator

      @stevenhoang4336  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, you cant really see it. What i did was sticking my phone camera down there and took a picture then base on that picture regarding to the location of the bolt, it stuck my finger down there to feel it
