      Holy, me too. I washed my face every chance I got, all day long with Noxema. That's it, no moisturizer no sunscreen and i had acne for years and I still have some faint scars to show for it. I actually think some of my wrinkles are a direct result of it. Luckily I got somewhat smarter in my "wise" yrs. And now I have pretty nice skin due to staying out of the sun🌞💛🌼

    I have a 3 1/2 year old C Section scar that I started using silicone sheets on about 6 weeks ago. The scar was discolored and raised in several areas, and had a few large keloids as well. I have seen a huge difference with the silicone. In most areas the scar is virtually gone, and the keloids have softened and shrunk and aren't as discolored. I have also been doing massage and other mobility techniques on the scar and surrounding tissue, mostly with my physical therapist who has been treating me for several Post baby issues including this, which has also helped the appearance as well. Massage breaks up the scar tissue and causes it to lay down healthy tissue, this time slower than when the area had to heal so the chances of more scar tissue are minimal. I wish I had known all of this right after the surgery, as i'm sure it would have been much easier to prevent the extra scar tissue vs. trying to treat it years later!

    I just had back surgery and have 2 long wounds. I applied scar gel with silicone, but after watching this and hearing your remarks on vitamin E oil, I remembered in 1971 after my brother severely burned his hands saving my bedroom from catching fire due to a kerosene lamp falling over, I treated his burns every night for weeks with it. He had zero scars. Maybe no study can prove it works, but I know it does. I will now use both as treatments.

    I used to be scared of balms but now they’re my fave ever since my trip to Korea. I’d use vaniply as my humectant layer and it helped me fight off the harsh winter wind burn. Since then I’ve tried the etude House cica balm from the soonjung line, the pyunkang yul acne balm and chica y chico totarol 3% balm and have noticed how faster my hyperpigmentation fades. The PCA pigment gel and PC azelaic are wonderful, but I can only tolerate them every other day because they’re strong so they leave my skin red and peel-y-I keep those products on my jawline. On my cheeks, I am all about the balms. So yah, just wanted to share more options. Cica balms and dimethicone are my best friends now 😊

    I have really bad DARK scars from addiction "track marks" they look like bruises. I hate them so bad I use leg makeup to cover them so people stop thinking I'm an abused wife. I am sooooo tempted to use the skin bleaching stuff. Ive used scar creams it does nothing to reduce the way they look. Makes me feel like no matter how long I'm clean I'm always a junkie with tracks. I'm really scared to spend a ton of money, I don't have, on somthing that might not work.

    • @LLWW

    • @starletd6819
      @starletd6819 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Omg, that must be so hard. Try not to tell yourself that because addiction is a beast and it takes so much perseverance and dedication to quit and the fact that you've been clean says a lot about you as a person! Congrats on going clean; you're so strong. Don't put too much time into what other people think about it because I'm sure you're beautiful. Definitely don't use any bleaching or whitening creams as those can be so horrible for the skin. It's really not necessary to spend a lot of money on creams of treatments although there are some that may work, you really don't need to pay your life's fortune for it. I would probably just recommend going to a dermatologist if you can as its the safest and likely most effective option. Hope it gets better for you ❤

    Just last week , I had a horrible allergic reaction, and the itching was HORRIBLE and I scratched and scratched. Well, I was in flight headed to Mexico city. When I got to the hotel... I was in so much pain I sought out a pharmacy . There was a quite a communication barrier, so I showed them my elbow, swollen, inflamed, broken skin in multiple places.. This is on and off for almost 2 years. The worse I think , to date. I have prescribed corticosteroid cream, but didn't have it with me @ the time. So, I showed them ; 4 pharmacists, and they gave me sample packets of La Roche-Posay cicaplast pro recovery skincare Gel B5 & another product by same company that they said I could put on right then..Id never heard of it. I am most defiantly scarred and when the open wounds heal. I will use the GelB5.

      Hi Marianne! Are your acne scars less visible? Just wondering because I’ve been on 0.05% tretinoin for about 4 years and my scars are still the same. I know everybody’s skin is different, I was on tretinoin 1% for a year and my skin couldn’t tolerate it at all. My skin was super dry and flaky for a whole year, so the doctor switched me back to the lower percentage.

      @luxy1193 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Vanessa Garlant hi, ive been suffering from adult acne last 2.5yrs, the area on both jaw lines is horrible from constantly repeated breakouts...it’s scared and discoloured. I started on 1% tret(retirides from Spain as we can’t get tret here in the uk). It’s reduced my breakouts considerably but not completely as tret alone is not enough cure for ‘hormonal’ acne and a antibiotic is also required alongside the tret but for now I’m happy with it without the antibiotic, with regards to the scaring and discolouration I see it’s reduced the appearance quite abit but it’s still visible only not as bad as before, guess will take time...so its working for my scarring too. I feel like all the exfoliating from the tret is what’s helps the scars and discolouration, time will tell as I only started tret 10weeks ago and am going super slow hence only on 2x per week at present.

    I have a nasty Frankenstein scar with track marks on my chest from a moh’s surgery for a basal cell carcinoma. I treated the scar with all of these tips here which my dermatologist provided 2 years ago following the surgery. I used a silicone gel for a year, it didn’t see the sun for a year, I moisturized with Vaseline immediately following the surgery for awhile, and I didn’t workout for 6 weeks per the dermatologist’s recommendation for a better aesthetic result. It’s not red, nor raised. Just the track marks are left 😔. What causes those? And do you have any advice for correcting it short of a scar revision? Thank you!

    Hi! I learned a lot in that video. I didn't think you could develop an allergy to vitamin E. I love turmeric spice in my recipes but I wouldn't dare apply it to my skin...lol ! I already have a few stitches in the palm of my hand. And, I used the La Roche Posay product (cicaplast) that had been recommended to me by my doctor. I really appreciated it because I couldn't tell where the injury was now. I often use Cerave ointment for my lips and when I have itching. I don't know if Cerave Itchy is more effective but I'd like to try it one day.

    Just had a mole scraped on medial right breast area (benign) - I’m keeping the area hydrated and covered with band aid for the first week. I scar lightly, non-keloid. I’m unsure what next step should as scrape/cautery is not a wound I’m familiar with. I’m thinking silicone sheets for a bit then continuing with a good moisturizer. 🤷🏼‍♀️This video helped as I was considering bio oil and mderma- which I will not be doing now! I have plenty of vitamin c, and will be buying some cera ve healing ointment instead.

    Exceptionally useful video. I was a little confused with what works for older scars, versus freshly forming scars as far as the wound treatment period.
    I see the silicone is good for old scars, not Vaseline and the such surely... that was more about new scar treatment I imagine.
    Then hyaluronic acid (or the sodium variation) in like, a moisturiser, is good for old scars and when they're fresh, it seems.
    CeraVe moisturising lotion seems good for that (for dry to extra dry skin).
    I never knew about silicone. Super glad to hear this (also saw the Bio-oil video, not getting that shit).
    "Dermascar Gel 15g" is relatively cheap. They have ones with vitamin C & E, screw that.
    15g isn't much for the task at hand, but apparently it "goes a long way". Will definitely give it a whirl.
    Thank you for this video! Such a damn good channel.

    Dear Doctor, we have some expensive cremes here, which claim a strong anti-aging effect - this is a combination of 3 derivatives - retinyl palmitate, retinyl acetate and retinyl propionate. These derivatives are on the ingredients list on the place nr. 25 and below. They are closed in the nanocells of squalane and can therfore penetrate deeply. Do you think this formulation can be so effective for anti-aging? Thank you so much and love from Scandinavia :)!
