Feeling bad for Aegon just means you’re human and a good person, it’s okay to feel bad for someone losing a son. There’s nothing wrong with that :)

    • @secicu
      @secicu 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah..
Way too many people feel as if sympathising with a person or their situation means rooting for them or even liking them, when thats not true at all
Anyone who has lost a loved can ofcourse relate to Aegon here, thats clear.
But to some thats just impossible and carries further implications that just arent required or even actually implied
      So Kudos!
This sentiment is for too rare in media discourse today

Interesting enough; Aegon is drunk lounging on the throne but doesn’t get cut.
I actually really do feel bad for Aegon and Halaena both. Aegon tried being a better father than Viserys ever was to him. Honestly burn them all at this point let’s go 🔥 I’m ready 😅

  • @LS13.

The mini scene with Aegon walking past Halaena - this just shows these kids were raised without even knowing how to console - and we see that because Allicent just leaves Aegon as well. Pissed me off lowkey. Like HUG YOUR SON. Viserys and Allicent didn’t do a good job which translates on the children, can’t even blame them for being who they are

and alicent is showing them the love that her father showed her. not even to mention she’s got a massive grudge that rhae’s children were made from love and hers from duty. u can totally see the disconnect and her yearning for girlhood again. it’s so tragic

I agree with you about the red wedding.
That hit harder than Blood & Cheese for me because of the following…
    1. We had more time with all of those characters in that scenario - I was connected to even Robb’s dire world Greywind.
    2. The stakes were higher and so much time was dedicated to building those stakes and the tension wasn’t forced like it was in Blood and Cheese (with them manufacturing tension having Blood drop the torch and having it roll like it might start a fire and the hand maid disappears and the rain falling).
    3. The actors who played Kat and Robb REALLY were just GUT WRENCHING in the way they expressed grief. It was sooooo tragic how those last moments went down.

"Where were all the guards?" - downstairs. If you guard known entries to the upper levels, you don't need more. The plot worked because the rat catcher knew secret ways upstairs. There was a whole scene to show this, when the Gold Cloak forced the rat catcher to take him upstairs. First the guy didn't want to go because he did not usually work there and feared to be noticed. That's also why he kicked his dog, so he wouldn't follow and make him even more recognisable.

What the most of the book readers don’t understand (or choose to ignore) is that F&B is basically a history book written by a biased maester 100 years after the dance based on accounts from people who weren’t even there 80% of the time. So the show version does makes sense since Alicent lied about what she was doing when B&C was happening and the greens probably inflated the situation to make Rhaenyra look even worse in history the course of history.

Rhaenyra did command her entire council that she "wanted Aemond Targaryen". She can't expect her subjects to then not try to get him for her, but you can't just waltz up and grab a dragonrider, so the kind of subterfuge Daemon employed was the only viable chance to get him. Did Daemon tell them to go for the kids if they couldn't find Aemond? Maybe, probably. But Rhaenyra did start the whole thing. If she wants to be queen, she needs to understand the gravity of her words. She says she wants something, those devoted to her will do whatever it takes. This even happened in real history when an English king, Henry II who had fallen out badly with the archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Becket, ranted at an evening dinner party in front of his knights that he wished death upon Becket (without meaning it, just being angry) and his four most loyal knights took this as a command and went and cut the bishop down in his church. It was one of the worst scandals of medieval England and created quite a lot of havoc for years. A monarch must know to watch and choose their words.

@@SuperStella1111 The principle is the same. The circumstances of trying to stealthily assassinate a prince risks collateral damage very easily. Henry's knights had the advantage of not being out of place at the church.

Blood mentioned "a son for a son", meaning that Daemon told him that. He wouldn't have said this out the blue. It's getting annoying that Daemon has the benefit of the doubt and the audience vilifies other characters more than him.

yeah @ daemon like- there’s a difference between an inciting factor and a deliberated upon decision. yes, the inciting factor of viserys naming rhaenyra heir was the death of his son and wife, and the need to have someone other than daemon as heir.
however, viserys chose rhaenyra (and didn’t change his mind in like 20 years) because, as he put it, she was the best of her mother. for better or for worse, viserys was a sentimentalist; he kept rhaenyra heir out of memory and admiration of her mother (and likely respect of rhaenys). ((unfortunately, if he had made her heir solely for her virtue or intelligence maybe he would have actually included her in his counsel and like taught her how to be a ruler but i digress ))

Sometimes I'm amazed at how many things get stolen unintentionally from Stephen King. The concept of one twin killing the other goes down in his book The Regulators. It is different. This was intentional. In the book it's a split second accident where one twin shoots the other thinking he's somebody he isn't. And like in this, just as suddenly, That twin turns the gun on himself as soon as he realizes what he did.

I think most people are satisfied with Haelenas reaction to the death of her child. I think people more so take issue with the missing dialogue and tormenting action said and done by blood and cheese. It was more wicked in the books, plus more realistic since there were gaurds present that blood and cheese killed. Oh also the change they did to where Alicent wasn't present at all during the scene...and instead had her sleeping with cole in her room...with the doors unlocked...was a little iffy.

I would never be Team Green but Tom did a great job in this episode because I actually cried for Aegon at the end. I think because I was also surprised and in my mind I didn't think he cared much about his kids just based on him being such an asshat lol.
Crispy Cream is so annoying and I can't wait until he's gone. The nerve you got talking about purity and "where were you", while he was literally inside the dowager queen is WILD. What I don't understand is where were the guards?
It makes me think that Crispy wasn't good at his job because why wasn't someone assigned as Halaena's sworn protector? Or rather why didn't he switch to her when Aegon was crowned? Did they not have enough staff? Did they just not see her as Queen or care?

In the book, he called his sister the true hair and in the book. Rhynera was going to pardon her brothers and sister, but she was always going to kill Alison and otto.
They also made Rhynera to Sympathetic and not showing any of her brutal characteristics like in the book. Something that makes her more realistic and enjoyable in my eyes.
I mean, this is a war, after all. I need a Rhynera to go more fire and blood like in the book.
