I was young and foolish to think that Childish Gambino would actually get a positive review.
I think that Fantano knows that Childish Gambino doesn't give a fuck (Lithonia).
If it's not some random no name indie artist or Kendrick you'll never get a great review.
Don't forget Death Grips and BROCKHAMPTON
They could make a 5 minute track of farts and Fantano would cum himself over how “innovative” it is
Fantano first hearing 'got to be' ... "that was dark and freaky, I really liked that a lot" ... Fantano 5 days later.. "worst track on the album"
Its boygenius $20 all over again. From hottest track of the week. To weakest track of the album.
It's literally one of my fav tracks on the album. I can understand but bro come on its a fucking banger 😤
Fantano is never beating the Glover hate allegations.
@@hero_bat8823 doing a bunch of different genres and trying to be labeled as “experimental” to the edgy crowd on TH-cam doesn’t make music good. Some songs are good, and some songs are genuinely terrible and there’s a lot of skips on the back end.

Esteemed Mr. Fantano,
Upon thy esteemed review of the latest opus, *Bando Stone and the New World* by the illustrious Childish Gambino, I am compelled to pen an epistle that doth extol the manifold virtues of this magnum opus, which, in mine humble estimation, doth merit naught but the highest accolades-a perfect rating of ten.
Firstly, prithee consider the sonic architecture of this album, which doth transcend mere auditory pleasure and ascendeth into the realm of the sublime. Gambino hath crafted a tapestry of sound that seamlessly weaveth together diverse genres, from the soulful strains of R&B to the pulsating rhythms of modern hip-hop. Each track is a meticulous composition, a symphony of intricate beats and harmonious melodies that doth transport the listener to an otherworldly dimension.
Secondly, the lyrical prowess exhibited herein is of such a calibre that it doth rival the poetic works of the most revered bards of yore. Gambino's verses are replete with profound introspections, societal commentary, and an exploration of the human condition that is both poignant and erudite. His ability to intertwine personal narrative with universal themes is a testament to his unparalleled artistry and intellectual acuity.
Moreover, the thematic cohesion of *Bando Stone and the New World* is nothing short of extraordinary. The album doth present a compelling narrative arc, a veritable odyssey through the vicissitudes of existence in the modern world. Each song doth serve as a chapter in this grand epic, with motifs and leitmotifs that recur and evolve, imbuing the work with a sense of unity and purpose that is rare in contemporary music.
Furthermore, the production quality is of the highest order, a paragon of sonic engineering. The clarity and depth of sound, the precision of mixing, and the innovative use of technology all coalesce to create an auditory experience that is immersive and awe-inspiring. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in every note, every pause, and every crescendo, rendering the album a masterpiece of modern production.
In summation, *Bando Stone and the New World* by Childish Gambino is an exemplar of musical genius, a tour de force that doth elevate the art form to new heights. It is an album that demandeth not only to be heard but to be studied, pondered, and cherished. In light of these considerations, I submit that it deserveth a rating of ten, a perfect score that is but a modest recognition of its boundless merits.
Yours in musical reverence,
Sikefis Farotos

@@Northbirdylol check review websites, the take that its mid is pretty universal its not just fantano echo chamber
@@NorthbirdyBut aren’t you in the Childish Gambino Stan Echo chamber?
I think the fact each song takes on a different genre or artist influence is sort of the point tho… like each one is a different sonic inspiration on “Gambino” as the character. The Kanye one is obvious, then there’s an indie rock track, a song that sounds like it was for cardi b, a prodigy sample, Etc. I think it’s a neat concept but doesn’t make a fully cohesive album (especially with the over usage of samples from the movie that hasn’t even come out yet). Kind of wanted more out of a final Gambino album honestly and was underwhelmed
I think that this Is exactly what Donald wanted. Maybe I'm overthinking, but this album is not the "triumph goodbye", because *nobody gives a fuck*. Like he was slowly doing this with Atlanta.
And I think that both of those worked.

@sillyboysue2782 fun fact, I don't really care that much. fun fact, it's not that deep, and fun fact, he's been hating on Childish his whole career so I wouldn't be surprised if the lyric actually is referring to him.

I think you can make the argument that this album and “character” is a conglomerate of all of the childish gambino personalities. The genre and style of those characters from the five albums give him the ability to produce music that a single childish gambino character otherwise wouldn’t.
While every track might not be the best, gambino experiments outside of his comfort zone so to speak. I think there are a lot of bangers on this album. I think fantano makes some good points overall.

I get your reasoning for reviewing it so low, although I wish you talked more on *_Dadvocate_* , as I think it’s easily one of the better tracks on the album.
It’s kinda similar to “Awaken My Love!” but with more stripped back production and more Singer-Songwriter aesthetics, that’s really nice on the ears, with it’s simple guitar plucks, catchy chorus, and serene vocals.

I think the last time I chimed in was the Crawler review, so it's been a minute, but damn this is the most off the mark I feel like Anthony has been in a while.
After sitting with this record for about a week I can confidently say it's one of the strongest of the year. I do agree that the record is a bit of a mixed sonic experience, but exponentially more often than not it's all hitting an extremely high batting average compared to other popular music right now. I think the fact that the highs are so high can trick you into disliking certain songs more - sort of like a music version of that average looking person standing next to two hotter people stereotype. The album sounds way more like a compilation than a cohesive sonic experience, which hurts it for me more than it helps it for me, but even then I can't ignore that the songs themselves are, much more often than not, doing what they're trying to do very, very well. It's a minimum 7 for me at my most absolutely critical.
