That's funny because Aegon and his dragon are described as having the best dragon-rider relationship, even when the dragon was unable to fly due to his injured wing, he turned himself at the last moment so that he don't fall on Aegon and crush him. I blame the show writers for not showing that. We could have seen their relationship instead of depicting Aegon in a ridiculous way and including silly scenes that don’t contribute to the story.

Older dragons have had many riders but let's not act like that's why aegon doesn't speak high valerian to his dragon. Its because he barely knows the language and never bothered to learn it. In addition, if Vhagar dies the war is effectively over, and the longer the war goes on, the more chances Aemond has to pick off the younger riders when they are alone.
