Hi. Thanks for replying. Yes, I do agree, but if you keep an eye on sales etc. You can pick up a bargain. I have done a fare bit of cycling, so when I took up archery, I already had the gear for UK's lovely rainy summers !!!!
For the jacket, I slip my bow arm out of the jacket. Kind of like what you would imagine a Japanese samurai would do as the slip their arm out of their jacket
Check the Pins are straight and Check that there are No cracks in the Plastic of your Nock (helps if the plastic is transparent, the light reflects from the crack, slight issue for me in that I see the SOLID ORANGE much more easily, if the nock no longer clicks on as it normally does - change it !)
Yes to everything, but I do use the clear orange nock so I can see any cracks. These pick up the sun very well, and are easy to see for me. If I hit a nock, everything gets changed out now....🙂
For my eyes the Solid Orange Beiters are orders of magnitude better than any other for me to see either thru an optic or with the naked eye, sometimes for target I use dark nocks as they show up well in the middle, if I do not hit the middle I have stuffed up somehow and I will find out regardless when I retrieve !
@@colingregory7464 good way to do things. I am going to try some bright green nocks , but usually I just look for what I have stored away if I need nocks, however I do hate different colours on my arrows. I do find that at longer distances, if I get a liner then I find it hard to see no matter the colour.
Field arrows are the Orange, Target tend to be the Dark (doesn't work great but I rarely use my scope to spot, tend to be focused on good shots and only marginally worried about individual arrow impact points)
@@colingregory7464 I really wish we had more field archery around where I am. My previous club had an amazing field course, and I love shooting field. I have some fellow archers here at my club now who have never shot field, but want to try, so we might see if we can set something up. I usually use a monocular for spotting myself. Always found a scope gets in the way. Just feels a bit too confined for my liking.
Had coat sleeve issues in the rain a few weeks ago. Couldn't understand why some arrows were acting weak and hitting low. Then realised the string was dragging on my sleeve :)
One of the reasons I don’t shoot pins. They have not saved me any arrows and bending pins are not that hard to do. So now, instead of just pulling the nock and inserting another, you have to replace the pin and the nock everytime.
Wow, it seems that weather is just something thst has more of an affect on us then we care to admit. I'm wondering if just putting a little bow wax on anything threaded tends to diminish when the conditions of overly wet or overly dry exist? Seems like bow wax will get to the point & start to break down. When I put together my Pandarus Icepoint arrows I made sure that used small pieces of disgarded cheap shopping bags to actually hold the pins. But I did notice that some bags are different than others. I tried to cut the small pieces the same & some bags were more rubbery than others & that is the material that I used. No problems with pin nocks & I didn't like the blue pins that came with them so I replaced them with some larger groove pins for my rather thick serving on all my strings that are 14 strand strings & I've had no problems. Now I just need to have the weather to not be so Jeckyl & Hyde. That's the only way I can describe it. It's going to take a while to get used to darkness setting in @ 5 PM. I usually shoot to the west & my drive home everyday is also to the west. I know what that oriention is like & I don't care much for it. Feels like we just had 8 straight months of summer with no fall. Might have to put up a long & narrow greenhouse to shoot in just so I can practice more.😮🎉😂
I actually glue in my pins. Works great, but if you hit them, as I have found, they do bend. First time I have ever seen this. I also changed out my blue nocks. Just couldn't see them. Our weather is a bit on and off, but yours sounds like that but on steroids 😅🤣. An indoor area to shoot would be great. When you say long, how long do you mean???😀
@@brookvalleylife724 20 yards, 18 meters. Just enough to keep my interest. It might get hot so I would have to put on a fan & ventilation system. The fan would have to be behind me. 👍

Thanks Rich. I will keep an eye out for those bargains😁.
I remember having clicker (moving) problems so I added a piece of tape running along side the clicker to indicate movement if the arm shifted!
I used white pen to draw a line. That works well too.😁

I saw a few people do this. On a really cold day I think I may try it. Thanks.😀

@@Australian_Made Hope all is well.

Yep, it happens a lot. I'm sure there must be something out there for the archers, but I still haven't found it. Maybe a hole in the market???
best place to find waterproof gear for archery is golf shops; as the mechanics of golf & archery are very similar.
Thanks Mark. I will take a look at some golf gear.

It has saved me quite a few arrows, but I will be changing pins if i hit them now. Lesson learnt.
Road cycling tops for fowl weather.
I have been looking at them but they can be really expensive.
