- The iPad is an amazing piece of hardware, but there's one key feature I don't hear discussed enough. It's often overlooked and I don't know what I would do without it. Let me explain what it is and why it's better than alternatives... Also, is this new iPad Pro worth the upgrade for you?

I just hotspot my iPad to my phone - works great. I've got unlimited data, and I don't find it slow at all. The only compelling reason I see to get the cellular version is it also has radios like GPS, and that gives you more accurate location on maps etc.
I have been doing the same thing for years! You always have your phone within reach so I personally find the cellular version of the iPad a complete waste of money.
Same. Hotspots work great. 👍🏻
The 5G UWB (Ultra Wide Band) does indeed work without the Millimeter Wave Antenna that is no longer on the iPad Pro M4. I have gotten speeds over 1GB on Verizon in my area.
I use my iPhone as a hot spot. My cell plan is unlimited. There has not been anything slow or tedious. I switched from iPad with cell years ago and have not missed that feature at all.
Eric Thank you! I was waffling back and forth between the 11 and 13. I had the 12.9 but returned it because it was just too heavy to use in tablet mode. I like the 11 but missed the real estate when docked. I use a mini most of the time for reading and light productivity, but I am going to try the 13, definitely with cellular. Thanks!, I appreciate your videos!
Even if you don’t activate cellular they have the gps too.
Great point!
Curious about 13 inch w/ the MKB on a plane? I cannot use my 14 in MBP when I fly coach - great video!
I purchased the iPad Pro M4 13 inch, because I do watch lots of movies and videos and looks great, also I have the WiFi Cellular because I travel with my iPad a lot. The reason I choose the 13 inch is because, mixing on the 13 inch is amazing.
I got the 13’ silver M4 as well, I opted for Wi-Fi only and just hotspot off my phone if I need an alternative to public WiFi. But I definitely see the value in the cellular option, wish I had that but saving a few bucks by going Wi-Fi.
Coming from an M1 iPad Pro, I really with apps like Lightroom, Capture One and other creative apps would enable the use of external hard drives. It's been a major dealbreaker for me when I'm at a photoshoot, trying to edit 10 photos real quick ... when I'm having to import hundreds and can't import them because of storage space or performance issues. Just makes it super tedious, and it's what caused me to pick up a MacBook Air.
I think the iPad Pro M4 with 2 terabytes of memory should take care of you nicely. Plus, you can now edit photos on an external drive plugged into the Pro’s port.
The best feature of the Ipad for me was they keyboard - I did not want to buy a laptop and I like to write. Yet the writing experience is horrendous and the whole setup now is more expensive than a laptop. Given everything is expensive people are looking to reduce tech expenditures. What is going to kill the Ipad in my view is AI. I can now do voice to text transcription and AI is slightly better than Drafts version of dictation. Plus you can get an intelligent summary. I can create notes on my Iphone. Also you can get full versions of editing software on a laptop compared to the Ipad. I have the M2 and it will probably be my last but I may have a different opinion tomorrow when Apple announces their plan for implementing AI into the Ipad OS and IOS in general.
My idea for the future is your Iphone replaces all of the devices you need and if you need a laptop/Ipad experience you dock your iphone into a screen or you dock it at home for a desktop experience.
That’s an interesting concept. For many people who aren’t limited by the thermal constraints of a phone’s size I think that could be amazing if Apple would ever enable it. There have been multiple phases in my life of falling in and out of love with the iPad, but the fact that I keep coming back to it again and again says to me there’s something there, at least for some people.
Tell me mate why the hell do all you apple fan boys always buy everything new Apple bring out it must be costing you people a great deal of money ,
