it isnt hating if it’s just bad. people should realise this. It’s just stating facts/(constructive) criticism. Not hating. Hating would be if you didn’t like the beat because it was made by someone you don’t like.

@@prodbynoizeystating facts and constructive criticism are very different, you can say “this sounds like shit” and argue that it’s a fact (music is subjective) but that’s not at all constructive criticism. If you said “I think it would sound better if you did this” for example, that would be constructive criticism.

As AIs essentially stitch together fragments of existing works to create "original" beats, images, stories and other creations one might say that it engages in a form of digital alchemy that transforms the raw materials of human creativity into something new. This process, raises critical questions which demand to be answered especially whether or not artists have the right to receive fair compensation for those tracks which could never have been generated had their worke not contributed to the AI's training, however indirectly. I posit that a model must be instituted enforce fair use where AI is concerned in order to ensure that where every AI-generated piece, whether a sound, track, or image, incurs a fractional cost to be deposited into a fund dedicated to distributing earnings to artists wherever they may be deserved, acknowledging their indirect contribution to the creation process, financially and however else otherwise.
There also exists other alternative solutions one of which ammounts to the obfuscation of ones works from the prying, unwelcome eyes of AI. Visual artists are already pioneering technologies such as these to shield their works from crawlers used to feed AI models which distorts images in such a way that confuses machine learning algorithms and renders the works protected by this technology as unusable noise. This technique suggests that there exists a possible solution for other mediums, one which promises to safeguard one's intellectual property artistic and otherwise across all mediums from unauthorized AI consumption. The challenge then remains to craft a mechanism-either through collective action or regulatory intervention-that will ensure artists are credited and compensated for their work's role in training AI.

Huge respect for the beginner bro. Like he said in the video, it's nothing to be ashamed of. You can almost think of the AI's level of making beats as its experience. It took the AI millions of songs to create that garbage POP A and it only took you this long to make POP B, that's a huge difference. The human element still matters a ton, even if the AI is technically better it's only because it's "Heard" more songs, it can't make anything with feeling or passion

With music, more than a lot of other creative endeavors, given that it's actually mathematical, it makes perfect sense that AI would excel in this area. Drawing/painting being a little more subjective, but there is still a clear understanding of aesthetically pleasing work to the human interpretation of it that it follows.
I personally think because Ai is going to make what was once a aptitude and access to education/programs etc, for the most part available to all, people are going to learn as a hobby how to refine what Ai gives them.
For instance, if you get a generated pick, but don't like exactly how some part looks, you might either tell the AI to edit the iteration, or do it by hand if you know how. I think our end of the creation part is going to be refining and lots of it. Meaning understanding the theory and fundamentals is still important to know, because you'll know what is off.
No matter how good AI gets, there is still gonna be that "Hmm, but if this were this color or facing this way." that we'll do, because AI can't read minds and we all get a specific image in our head when we are creating something, be it music, animation, film, drawing, sculpting, whatever it is.
For sure though, the job itself won't exist in the way it does now at all. But people will instead make artistic creations (as part of the refining process and just production) en masse on a scale we have never seen, because yes, they won't have to spend years trying to get their hand to draw what they see in their minds eye, or understanding music theory in totality. They skip the 10,000 terrible iterations to get to the first good one. Which is a massive leap from all the programs and tools we use now to cut down the process, as with digital drawing, where you can easily add texture or blend, or digital programs, which give access to playing instruments we don't know how to actually play, yet create the sound and notes from them. It's a bigger leap than people are used to, but the principle is very much the same. No one makes cave drawings with hand crushed berries and clay anymore, neither do they craft their own instrument, learn how to play and then make a song.

I like what you have said..."As long as we hold onto our creativity, AI will never be able to catch up with us.". I may add that AI can't replace the essence of our creation by the fact we put our soul into it, and that makes it different. AI does not have "Pneuma," a life-giving spirit.

If you asked me 6 months ago, I would've said A.I. is about to decimate beat-making. But I changed my opinion, here's why: Beats are non-fungible. Beats are one of a kind. I personally have caught lighting in a bottle a few times with beats. And people just love those handful of viral beats I have. So while A.I. might be making bangers soon. It doesn't stop you from also making your bangers, you follow? A.I. WILL MAKE ENTIRE HIT SONGS SOON. But there will still be hit songs made by humans.. It's just now, more competition, and less sales. But as all songwriters and rappers know. When you hear a beat and it's the one. It's the one

Just remember, we create music because we love it. AI can't ever take that away from you. The negative side of AI is that it will flood an already oversaturated market meaning it will be harder than ever to reach an audience. It will also inevitably devalue music so people wont pay you much for it (if at all), meaning making a living from music will soon be coming to an end for most. So focus your attention on the joy of making your music for no other reason than you love too, the plus side of that is that you will probably make your best work as a result of that.

Simon, I've been watching your videos for a long while now. I'm STUCK with FL Studio Mobile so I beg of you, please sir, I am but a humble and poor beat curator whom only has his phone to make music. Seeing videos using the mobile app makes me feel like I still have hope. What you make in an hour I haven't even come close to yet. I used to have FL Studio 11 a looooonnnngggg time ago and my laptop broke so I stopped. Bought it on my phone several years ago but just this week I opened it back up and making the attempt to get back into it. I want to see how nice I can make something into by exclusively using my phone for EVERYTHING. Love your videos too, thank you for all the encouraging and helpful insight! (I wrote all that, A.I. didnt) 🤜🤛

There are a lot of variables: genres, how good is the generator's audio output, who did the prompting, does the generator allow editing / extending / inpainting or does it just render what it wants and you have no say. With guitar based genres and acoustic genres, you can instantly tell although Udio and maybe a new one by ElevenLabs (not yet released) can make that pretty difficult now. With electronic genres, it's all about the generator. It's not really possible to do a few tracks from one mediocre or lame generator and make a solid comparison to an excellent producer. Both Udio and Suno can do electronic genres really well although you might have to generate multiple time to get something you like. But you can compare a novice against any generator and either the generator is going to win or it will be a tie. Generators have probably "learned" more than a novice. As for groove and emotion, I don't think we can keep saying AI has no soul and isn't creative at this point. Udio disproves that in my opinion.

Tbh I literally guessed AI right. Also when it comes to professional producers AI is not even near to them. It was just a confusion between Beginner producer and AI which is fine cause the new producer will become a pro in sometime and will definitely surpass the AI.
