you could have also used Synthesizer V for the base vocals, it's essentially a realistic sounding vocaloid software. sounds great on its own, especially the "Solaria" voice, but of course you can use it with AI voice inference too
@@mecd4167 yes it does but I've gotten some good results with Solaria, especially when you then use a well trained AI voice with it. I'm sure they will probably integrate that in the software soon
right but the question is, how much of that effort is needed if you're gonna just use it as a base to voice clone Dua Lipa anyhow@@mecd4167 . Wouldn't it be interesting if the answer is "not that much"? I'd love to see an experiment.

Artists and producers have overused Auto-Tune to such an extent that, even at this early stage of AI development, AI sounds more realistic than most human performers!
The difference from the raw recorded vocal to the finished vocal - wow a great sound. How about making a video about what you did ? EQ and Comp and so on ?

Good question! The time will tell is the answer. Someone just told me that in France it's illegal to copy someone's voice without their permission... I think the industry will change, and the laws will change but we need to keep on top of AI and be able to use it to our benefit, not hindrance.
@@EDMTips Copying "someone's voice" is going to very slippery slope for courts. Where do you draw the line? Is it going to be purely about judge's hearing and personal preferences? The AI voice in this sounded like using live autotune which causes ringing artefacts and that would immediately tell me it's not Dua Lipa. If court decided otherwise, they immediately extend "someone's voice" a lot!
I think the bit with buddy Mike being totally surprised could have benefitted from a fair bit of AI itself because it was all staged and a good example of the fact that acting isn't easy for most of us. However, I enjoyed the entire video: lots of resources to check out, slickly edited and at a nice pace overall! 😉
I think it also helped that you portrayed the audio as "work-in-progress" before him listening which allows ignoring some details that can be considered to be fixed before release. Great work nonetheless!

If the voice of the original artist was use to train the AI model, that could be an avenue for them to make a claim. For example there is the Grimes AI voice,. which she had a direct hand in producing and people can freely use it - providing they pay 50% of the song royalty to her publishing.
its still half a mile away from duas timbre, but the last half a mile is the hardest...... and that little difference makes duas real voice so great. You even hear it when dua just speaks in Interviews. If i hadnt known it was a dua copy i wouldnt necessarily hve guest it. I dont think there is any copyright infringement. But its still a good song production, well done!!

I did the same with Karen Carpenter, pretty impressive if you teach it with sufficiently isolated vocals. I used my MALE vocals as the source and it was very impressive. A good female vocal would be awesome.

BUT.... and after processing the living crap out of the vocals... we could release it with as a "new" artist? Great question! I think we shouldn’t and as the danger is too high - you stand more to lose if it all goes haywire. If you use AI vocals, make sure you say that and link to the source.

whats the application with the end game of all these, when theres no actual singer for videos or live performances ? There would need to be an Ai video for it, which will still be lame with just a replica singer. The Ai singing aspect needs to be really pushed way out there on another different type of creative level if its going to make up for the lack of performer. Kind of like how all the previous tech music breakthroughs stemmed from replicas, i.e. Synths were designed to replicate natural instruments but couldnt. Same with drum machines, then sequencers for arrangements, digital studio gear trying to emulate analog.. in the end the successful application was when they were used for something totally different.
Anyma is a pretty cool example of a.I visual performance (not sure it counts, actually, but I agree - it will be creating the physically impossible which will make it exciting)

Absolutely! I am sure copyright law will catch up with this soon enough - there are cases to be built, and money to be made... I am intrigued to see how it will shape the industry and how it will be able to help as producers :)

Re: (c) issues, always always credit who/what/how you used (software, voice, yourself) and you should be OK. If it can be traced, then (c) adjustments can be made if needed, minimising the risk of breaching the law

Hey that was really satisfying, in a "I could imagine myself going through all that" way. Then, wow! when it turns outs all sparkling and brilliant. I love that top end, was always what I want to get right. Harmonics and high-end balance, as its easy to get a solid bass, I used to use a vitalizer. Its basically a really desireable sound. Well done! Then it's what I live for, creative satisfaction and the emotional outlet. Thanks for the inspo ✨️ P.S also I love AI and think its really fascinating. Look up AGI (artificial general intelligence), as opposed to specific AI for tasks. When AGI becomes self directing, like a person. Golly! these next few years are going to beyond AI AWE-some. P.P.S recent AI business laws from Hollywood's artist strikes agaisnt AI, say that you're allowed to do AI parodies of artists. So, basically not claiming its their original work and using their name for commercial purposes. Lastly, AI will completely turn the whole world upside down, and a new human understanding will emerge. As we discover the source of our own true consciousness.

Yea I tend to listen to YT vids at increased speed just to not eat up so much time (especially since it still counts for the crator as a view). At normal speed it sounds prety decent, speed it up and it really sounds obviously computer driven. The difference between the natural voiced singer and the algorithmically enhanced one are really stark when doing that so it would make the track a hard sell for club tunes that would be played by DJs at different speeds.@@EDMTips

Over the years, I've been getting a lot of insight through his channel as he has tutorials on Adobe Audition which is my DAW of choice (I know I know, everyone tries to get me to Ableton or Cubase) and now a while back I started following you as I thought your methods and way of explaining were also very helpful. I did the same with Karen Carpenter, pretty impressive if you teach it with sufficiently isolated vocals. I used my MALE vocals as the source and it was very impressive. A good female vocal would be awesome.

Question: Would you say that we probably could use this tool. Choose a "famous voice" we like the tone of. Generate a vocal. BUT.... and after processing the living crap out of the vocals... we could release it with as a "new" artist? OR... do you think one could end up in trouble if for producing actual releases, even tho we dont mention the "AI generated artists name"?
Great question! I think we shouldn’t and as the danger is too high - you stand more to lose if it all goes haywire.
If you use AI vocals, make sure you say that and link to the source.

whats the application with the end game of all these, when theres no actual singer for videos or live performances ? There would need to be an Ai video for it, which will still be lame with just a replica singer. The Ai singing aspect needs to be really pushed way out there on another different type of creative level if its going to make up for the lack of performer. Kind of like how all the previous tech music breakthroughs stemmed from replicas, i.e. Synths were designed to replicate natural instruments but couldnt. Same with drum machines, then sequencers for arrangements, digital studio gear trying to emulate analog.. in the end the successful application was when they were used for something totally different.
Anyma is a pretty cool example of a.I visual performance (not sure it counts, actually, but I agree - it will be creating the physically impossible which will make it exciting)

Yass! Pls finish the track... but puh-lease credit the woman whose voice you used as template. Re: (c) issues, always always credit who/what/how you used (software, voice, yourself) and you should be OK. If it can be traced, then (c) adjustments can be made if needed, minimising the risk of breaching the law

Hey that was really satisfying, in a "I could imagine myself going through all that" way. Then, wow! when it turns outs all sparkling and brilliant. I love that top end, was always what I want to get right. Harmonics and high-end balance, as its easy to get a solid bass, I used to use a vitalizer. Its basically a really desireable sound. Well done! Then it's what I live for, creative satisfaction and the emotional outlet. Thanks for the inspo ✨️
P.S also I love AI and think its really fascinating. Look up AGI (artificial general intelligence), as opposed to specific AI for tasks. When AGI becomes self directing, like a person. Golly! these next few years are going to beyond AI AWE-some.
P.P.S recent AI business laws from Hollywood's artist strikes agaisnt AI, say that you're allowed to do AI parodies of artists. So, basically not claiming its their original work and using their name for commercial purposes.
Lastly, AI will completely turn the whole world upside down, and a new human understanding will emerge. As we discover the source of our own true consciousness.

Yea I tend to listen to YT vids at increased speed just to not eat up so much time (especially since it still counts for the crator as a view). At normal speed it sounds prety decent, speed it up and it really sounds obviously computer driven. The difference between the natural voiced singer and the algorithmically enhanced one are really stark when doing that so it would make the track a hard sell for club tunes that would be played by DJs at different speeds.@@EDMTips
