    1. Navigation is the most important thing.
    2. Clean car
    3. Look professional
    4. Air freshener
    5. I will also recommend having signs in the back of the car explain the rate system.
    6. Always ask questions if you're not sure of something. For example if you're 1 minute away from the building ask the passenger is on the right side or left side.
    7. Never let a p passenger disrespect you or push you. around

Wait, a sign explaining the rate system? Can you explain? Lmao I'm a new driver and I guess I should know what you're talking about, I mean I know there are surge prices but not sure what those are exactly... ?
now I know that I can look at my past rides and calculate the average price of those, do you do that also?

    • @bigh7777
      @bigh7777 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Rate system? As a uber rider that’s their job to understand and figure out. I’ve had riders be abusive regarding the fees. I’ve promptly removed them from my vehicle and reported them.

This is what I would prioritize:
      1. Good driving skills - Make them feel safe, keep you out of trouble, won't tire you out
      2. Great attitude - Be nice, don't overdo it, be ready to have an interesting conversation, don't be a creep
      3. Clean car - I do not use air freshener but I do Lysol my seats.
      4. Good music - Be open to requests. Seriously, I have been a passenger and listening to politics on AM is not a good ride. Think 90s pop, smooth jazz, whatever
      5. Understand your market! Know where the good business is.
      6. Stay safe and don't let a passenger take advantage of you. I have canceled rides because the passenger was mean or argumentative. Like one was mad of the way I took to PICK HIM, not take him to the place. I dropped him at the next Gas Station in a safe area and pushed the cancel button so he would not be charged. He of course said he would call Uber and that my "Uber career" was over. And, oh yeah, Uber is where the drama is at. I never heard of anything from Uber.

Good tips! I'd add a few more:
11 - Mileage tracker - Mileage is easily the biggest deduction we can get. Been using Everlance Free version. Works great.
12 - Income tracker - I have 5 gigs and like to centralize my earnings in one spot. Started using the House of gigs income tracker and it's fine.

I drive for Lyft and my air conditioner doesn’t work so I carry around a USB connected Fan so they can use it. I make almost $50 - $100 a day and I live in a country area. I spray my car with cinnamon spray every time a driver leaves my car. Lyft is almost a full time job for me and I have only been driving for Lyft for 3 days and I have made $300 so far even some with tips and without tips. I think it’s all about customer service, good conversation, ask what radio station they like, try to find something relatable you can talk about and get them to their destination fast and safe. :)

    I am a 5 star driver and I follow 3 simple rules.
    1. I keep my ride clean, as in, NOTHING IN THE CAR. I also have a can of ozium in the glovebox that I spritz after EVERY passenger.
    2. I'm friendly with my passengers. Let your instincts tell you if the person wants to talk or not, but usually, they do.
    3. I practice SAFE DRIVING. I accelerate and brake gradually, as well as take my turns gently. I also follow the cardinal rule of NEVER EVER TAILGATING!
I get comments on all three, cleanliness, friendliness, and safe driving.
Trying to juggle bottled water and candy and gum and all that shit. I mean, I get it, but when it really comes down to it, the 'experience' we provide as rideshare drivers lasts, on average, about 6 miles. The passenger has no way to really RATE us via comment. It's not like they're gonna say "Hey, PICK THIS DRIVER! HE GIVES YOU FREE CANDY"! There is no need for 'value added' services here. When a rideshare solution comes along that DOES allow the passenger to pick and choose their drivers, THEN maybe I'll consider trying to manage inventory, but for now, I keep it VERY VERY simple.
I keep two small unopened packets of facial tissue, a couple of self sealing barf bags, and two small bottles of water in my driver door pocket area. These are for emergencies, not for every passenger. In the trunk, I keep a can of fix-a-flat, some duct tape, rope, several long zip ties and a shovel. Just making sure you're paying attention. lol. I actually keep my trunk completely empty just like the rest of the car. It's a hybrid and the battery takes up a good chunk o the trunk. I HAVE considered getting a small child booster seat and keeping it in the trunk though. In my glovebox, I have a flashlight, a small stack of napkins (usually, from the last fast food place I was at) a pad of notepaper, a pen, and a couple of unopened cheap disposable ponchos. I figure, one of these days, the ponchos are gonna bring me a nice tip! I do also provide my passengers with a charger for their phone, but again, nothing extreme. It's discreet, always put away, but readily available. I keep it in the back pocket of the front passenger seat so it's always put away, but always available.
I DID spring for a set of those LED lights for underseat/underdash area, lol! 15 bucks on amazon and worth every penny. I RARELY turn them on (I actually RARELY drive at night, but even when I do...). They flash to the music different color leds. I've turned them on a few times while driving college kids in Athens. And not long ago I turned them on with the 'gentle fade mode' and was able to calm down a toddler with them for the last 10 minutes of a ride! lol I DO use these sometimes, but just the white light mode. I does make it very easy to see inside the car when you're getting in.
I don't think I'd want to give ANY passenger something to eat or drink. To much of a liability for my taste. I only have the bottled water in case a passenger needs it in a crisis.

My experience using Lyft is that most of the drivers have no customer service skills.Maybe 2 or 3 out of ten drivers have no customer service skills. Most of the drivers do not offer or help you if you have luggage or a couple of grocery bags.Of course they still expect a tip for sitting on their ass and just popping the trunk open for you and that is it.I drove a cab in 1991-1993 and drove in bad neighborhoods.I got held up.I would tip the drivers but I had such a terrible incident with a Lyft driver on June 9 that changes my attitude. The driver picked me up at the Arby's and took me to the Laundry mat.He was suppose to wait while I picked up my laundry that I had done for me.He was suppose to wait and then drive me home.Instead he asks me if I have anything in the car.I say yes my gym bag but I will be back in a minute. He tells me,orders me to pick up my bag and get out of the car and then he drives away.I suspect that he did that because he took offense as I had to correct him as he was going the wrong way.He points to his GPS on the phone.I tell him I do not care what the phone says. Why would you get off Oliver St.when the Laundry Mat is on Oliver St.?These drivers seem to have little or no knowledge of where places are or even main streets, intersections.I then ask him how can I get a bigger car as I need to bring 4-6 boxes to FedEx next month to ship to Las Vegas, that I have had enough of Wichita.I have seen enough of Wichita.I am moving. This guy obviously should not be driving if he is so sensitive.I have filed numerous complaints about this driver. He should be fired.I know that when I was working that if I did something like that I would have been fired.
