    Hi Aram, i don't have the checkbox "Embed HDR10 metadata" 😵‍💫. I have applied all the settings you describe in your HDR series.

    Hi Aram - Your 3-video discussion about HDR 10 work-flow is quite helpful in understanding all of the varied selection/setting in Resolve 18 needed for HDR. Thank You ! I recently purchased a ASUS PA32UCR-K monitor. My assumption was that I could run Resolve 18 on that monitor, using the SDR setting and then switch over (when needed) to one of the HDR calibrated settings to see the resultant results. Essentially eliminating the need for a 2-monitor setup. In your color grading video, Part 2, it appears you are only using your HDR monitor to view the end results and a SDR monitor is running the Resolve program. Is there any reason why one could NOT use a single monitor (the ASUS PA43UCR-K) for both software and final product viewing ?

    You can use resolves filmlook luts as well in hdr. First cst rec 2020 to rec709 cineon Film then the lut and then the cst back to rec2020.looks great

      You know more than I will ever know, but doesn't that defeat the object, Rec.709 is not HDR. Therefore, aren't you downgrading to SDR?

      @shueibdahir ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Coatsey007 you can use the dci-p3 versions and then cst to rec.2020. Basically Rec.2020 to CINEON LOG, then apply the kodak or fuji dci-p3 filmlook and then cst back to rec.2020. P3 is a pretty wide gamut so it doesn't hurt as much as rec.709

    Hey Aram, thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm new to HDR and looking forward to diving in. Question - do you know if the Macbook Pro M1 Max would be suitable for this workflow with an external 4K Monitor? I read your blog and you recommended buying a PCIe card, but I'll be working on a Macbook. Thanks!

    • @AramK
      @AramK  ปีที่แล้ว

      MacBook is too weak to work on real 4K hdr. If you need to go max route I would suggest waiting until September to see if they have something with more power

      @@AramK That's so funny because I've been using an M1 Max MacBook Pro with 4K compressed raw footage and HDR grading for almost two years with no issues and a built-in HDR monitor that doesn't require Blackmagic's PCIe card to display actual HDR... Even 6K compressed raw footage was no issue

    Out of interest, why not the one that higher than that which is 4:2:2 instead of Main 10?

    Most problem is how to set render settings for HDR instagram Reels, in my experience nothing work. Only if you record by iPhone and export directly from your phone then works :(
