    Using Resolve 18.5 Free Version however on my version the “enable HDR metadata” is greyed out and cannot be selected same in the export page main10 cannot be selected only main using H.265 and the end result is a washed out exported video. Yet the same video uploaded directly to You Tube from OBS looks great and shows as HDR. I don’t want to colour grade anything only cut clips nothing more and simply export. Can you not even export HDR on the free version anymore?

    As far as i know youtbe doesnt support hdr10+ its from samsung .We need just hdr pq bt 2020 but iphone users need to downgrade their exposure and cut dolby visio .
    Your next video part 2 is fine tutorial but how about 1h when we are outside and in low light .Do you think recording in s/d log / d-cinema and just apply lut is enough ?

    Just share some info for folks. HDR contect to TH-cam take time to showing proper HDR and for 8K HDR its took days so dont panic if your uploaded content dont show HDR in TH-cam. I use QuicTime H.265 Rec 2020 PQ ST2084 ofcourse yuo can use other HDR options.

    Nice to have video from this topic. I have UHD HDR tv as one of my desktop displays. I have HDR enabled for HDMI and desktop brightness scaled down. I can play HDR videos with compatible players with full brightness and colors. If I could just direct video preview to that display with HDR enabled, that would be perfect, but it seems it's not supported. I can move my video editor to that display, but preview is not HDR, like compatible media players.
    Supporting that would be very nice feature, because there's no need for separate HW and using it would make it difficult to use the TV for desktop purposes

    • @KrisCortez
      @KrisCortez ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Premiere Pro has DirectX HDR support for Windows so you can actually view HDR in the program on a HDR display. Davinci Resolve doesnt let you do this cuz, well, they want you to buy their Blackmagic ultra studio products. =)

    • @teropiispala2576
      @teropiispala2576 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KrisCortez I came to that conclusion too. I don't have enough use to pay for premiere pro. It's also quite slow to use for my videos and don't have proper color correction possibilities. I once bought a permanent license for premier elements, but when I ended my other Adobe subscriptions, I can no longer install it or find the license. I made a custom plugin for undewater correction, and that was good for my needs.

    Hello, great video. I've got a question though, can I make a HDR video from any log footage I got? I mean it's got a wide dynamic range, right? So I have a choice, either I make an SDR or HDR video. Or it must be shot on specific HDR camera?

    • @AramK

    • @AramK
      @AramK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @johnmusaev1819 proper hdr has to be at least 10bit. However, realistically anything can be made into hdr. Just gonna look like crap if footage low quality.

    very few displays can show rec2020, mainly smart tv's, but definitely not 100% rec200. dcip3 is a much better choice for consumer hdr and youtube. dolby license costs like 2000 usd per year and they may not even sell it to random people, forget about it. alsi, you need special display to master dolby, youtube doesn't accept dolby yet, waste of time and money. hdr10+ is supporterd mainly by samsung display . hdr10 is what we need. video monitoring sectios is not for gui, but for a calibrated display connected to decklink, very confusing video, I wasted my time

    • @AramK
      @AramK  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      That’s a bunch of bs you wrote. I noticed you like writing bullshit comments. You don’t know anything about hdr and sit here pretending like you an expert. 1. Hdr10 supported by almost every tv that has hdr. Hdr10 is an open source developed by Samsung.
      2. TH-cam suggests using rec2020 for mastering instead of p3
      3. Nobody talking about Dolby
      4. I clearly stated what video monitoring section is for.
      5. You sir full crap 💩
