That transition from Winston’s vocals to Marcus’ at 3:24 was absolutely magnificent. Then you two go back and forth with the verses and hit one together? Y’all absolutely delivered greatness with this song.
Yeah it's nice when featured vocalists don't just get one block of the song, when they're actually integrated into it and trade parts with the regular members. Always makes it more memorable. Kind of like King For a Day by Pierce the Veil, even if you don't like that song it's a masterclass in how to incorporate a featured vocalist.
@@lukedavies900Motionless In White - Slaughterhouse comes to mind, not the biggest fan of the song itself but Bryan Garris' feature was so well executed. Bury Tomorrow - The Carcass King is another one.

It's like seeing an old friend returning home.
Kind of bummed me out in a weird way, hearing that he's still capable of those vocals but the band just chooses to willingly put out dad rock these days.

I havent seen any band making such different music so good as they do for a long period of time already. Other bands start making different stuff and fail. They even fail in their own stuff.
Here we're having absolutely distinctive banger albums as Alien, Obsidian, then Dante, then Miasma. So different but equally solid.

Yeah ok the band is good. But that doesn't mean it's a whole new genre. It's very much part of a genre. Hyperbole is just nuts in the last few years.

This goes beyond my expectations. I've been obsessed with Northlane since the last decade, and more than the sound, the self-aware lyrics stood out more. In all the albums that they've released, I have consistently found music and lyrics that deliver a message that I must understand for my own evolution. Miasma is in keeping with that tradition, and I find power and catharsis in it.

Northlane looked as a band that influenced their earlier sound and got that exact vocalist to do a feature.
But Winston's take on it will be "listen to the old albums.. or just come see us live". They still play TONS of older shit live.
It's always super fun for a band when their tastes are being dictated to by people with free Spotify and TH-cam access.

Those "dog bark" guitars & bass with Marcus's angelic singing at 02:02 is just GOOSEBUMPS. Another Northlane track where you don't know if you should air guitar and sing along & cry or body slam yourself on the walls.
The music and video compliment each other so well. They are easily going to be one of this year's best for sure! 🤘😎🎸
