Agents of the Emperor deserves to be put higher I think, versatility is its greater strength and while the troop is easily the weakest of the options. Getting a 5 heal early to stem a losing early game or gaining a 2 attack with First Strike is extremely potent for anyone, most of all for old Valdor which I mostly used as I build up the more rarer of the newer Custodians. Being able to mulch anything with 4 health or else, 5 even if you saved up the 0 buffer. Getting Bloodthirst at all would just make it that much better and since something like Orders from Terra gives you 2 fresh attacks with a Warlord in the synergy, that First Strike is going to notch quite a bit for Valdor's Reckoning.
Custodes prefect is so underrated. He can lock the board as much as 6-6 guy but hes without draw that Valdor doesnt need much and he can go under control with attack so its at least bad
Just compare cards to some EC ones: first strike vehicle and tactic, 5 cost damaging tactic etc. Most of these EC are even weaker after triggering perfection. I'm not an EC fan at all, but wanted to make the point how badly EG did that (panicky) Custodes buff
I'd bump the Ancient a tier higher because of how devastating it is when triggered, the current event is a feeding ground for it. I've won half a dozen matches because of it, like I'd happily sacrifice a face bash or a few weaker troops to narrow its range. Double the damage and since on average its going to be a tight match with the current set of card arsenals in the event, its going to absolutely demolish anything with its Nemesis triggering. I practically chortled when I managed to get nothing but Ancients and a Golden Death in a fair few matches in the final rounds, everything heavy the enemy gets just fed Nemesis and sacrificing a bash or a few troops is fair play for potentially overkilling the Warlord or a the few enemy troops there. Filling the 12 win streak never felt so satisfying. Even outside the event, it would be a pretty potent bomb in your hand in case the enemy has something like a certain Greater Daemon.
Oldstodes are the biggest winners out of this, so many new toys for the Golden Boys to sidestep the flaws of Sentinel and Nemesis. Nassau's more evasive than ever and old Valdor's just got more beastly with the bloodthirst cards instead of solely relying on Paragon Spear to knock some civvies off to deal with lack of enemy troops to grind through. Personally Dusk is easily the best of the new Warlords in the Golden Boys tier, that Exemplar is incredible and is pretty much the only one to gain me a 12 win or anything reliably higher than a 4 compared to new Tacitus that's all sorts of terrible in my experience. Plus, without the dude in the event, clearing the Exemplar daily would've been a nightmare.
