Great tierlist - matches up quite closely with my thoughts too It will be interesting to see how skaven changes patch by patch, as over the last 2 years despite having one book, we have had different models rotate in and out of top tier Doomwheel meta (pioneered by yourself), double verminlords, bells and censors, 9 stormfiends Keen to see how it all evolves with time
I agree with your list dude, even your spicy takes like warpseer sucks. If you could choose doom or wall of sound on a 5+ the bell would would shoot up 2 tiers and drag bodyguard clanrats up with it. I think Gnaw-beast deserves consideration with a point drop tier, If he was really cheap like 120-130 he could get in with bodyguard, warpstone charm, skilled manip in some builds. God I wish stormvermin got the 5+ ward.
the more competitive you get with skaven, the less fun you have, it seems :P fr tho, it is interesting to see how useful people think a unit is, based on HOW they use it.
WLV can definitely tie up an opponent if they choose to waste attacks fighting it, and if they don't, it gives huge debuffs to run and charge in a *massive* area. It sucks that the "pass over this manifestation" rule seems to only apply to the bases, rather than, ya know, the triangular area it covers, which would actually be cool and good. But it doesn't "do nothing." It definitely controls a portion of the battlefield, and absolutely *will* do damage during your opponent's hero phase unless they burn a cast banishing it.
My experience with it so far has been that it's generally a mistake to cast it, as it gives opponents too much free movement, though our experiences are not the same! If it's working for you that's awesome!
Havent been able to get a proper game of AoS in yet (only spearhead, starting AoS with this edition). Its not looking too hot for my collection haha. (Everything in the Skaventide box, 1 GSoSB, 2 HPAs my beloved, 1 Doomwheel, 1 Clawlord, 1 Warlock Bombardier, and the Endless spells. Id get the gnawholes if they stopped being out of stock as soon as they get back in stock)
Here are a fee thoughts How far would the rattling gun weapon teams meed to go down in points to actually be playable, if we consider that it may mot get a warscroll change with the tome? My personal guess is 50-60points. Secondly as a skaven player who loves the randomness in skaven. I’m really hoping if we get an update for the bell rules, it’ll get its 2d6 tolling table from second edition. competitive may be great an all but in the end . Lore should always be before the competitive scene when it comes down to rules writing
I guess we can agree to disagree haha! I think quality rules writing is more important than lore. I think the ratling gun can't be saved by points, but the new weapon team unit just previewed might fix em!
Ummm... First thongs first: thanks for the tier list! On the other hand... I've watched, I've listened but I guess I'm under Nurgle charms and can't see Clawlord on Gnaw-beast. Are he there?
Mechrat continuing the tradition of all pro Skaven players being solid gold hotties. Go you good thing!
