Always a joy to see your battle reports. Why? Real enthusiasm. Although one thing needs to be said: The scenario title was a bit misleading. Let me try at an attempt for an alternative:
Scenario Title: Cargo Cult
Plot Description: In their endless wisdom and mercy the Old Ones have decided to send aid packages right from the fourth dimension onto the war-stricken battlefields of the Horus Heresy to lessen the misery and hardship for all combatants involved. Two forces clash with one another in a skirmish to obtain these essential goods. But what has been sent? White Gold!
Because in the grim darkness of the far future supply lines have collapsed a long time ago and three ply toilet paper is akin to a gift from the gods.

47:38 the Dangerous terrain tests caused by the Warmonger’s deep strike wargear don’t need to be rolled individually, I don’t think. Also, you get an invulnerable save against the wound too, I believe.

Try Varangyrs with thunder hammer&forst claw they get 1 additiona attack for two specialist weapons ! And Speaker of Dead in Varagyrs make them riders of the apocalypse.
very true, all my Varangyr have mixed weapons, more for the modling that the best combo, but all have a S8 AP 2 weapon at INT 1 and a frost weapon so they can go at INT 4 if needed and two specialist weapons as you rightly say extra attacks. all round. DEE.

Yeah that's how you loose every friend you have. SW are not very well seen this Edition because Russ is just broken. If you then tryhard like that you can say bye bye to your social life lmao
It was a good game, always love seeing Night Lords and Wolves.
The Night Lords though weren't always on point but when they were, it counted. I don't feel bad though for the Wolves, the rolling was a little bad but not a flop, I mostly don't feel bad though because generally speaking Wolves got to thug it out with the shooting, but once they get into melee it's pretty much GGWP at that point. I saw another BatRep where Russ and his Varagyr went toe to toe against Mortarion and Death Shrouds, pretty much same number of models and Russ one shots Mortarion, nearly wipes the Death Shroud and then Varagyr do the clean up and they move on. Like that whole game leading up to the Curze/Russ fight I just thought was going to be a given for Russ, unfortunately though that was where the game was won or loss.
Still GG, I look forward to more Night Lords, I look forward to more Wolves and I look forward to Derricks lovely voice (it's like the British version of Stone Cold Steve Austin)

4 dreads and a Primarc + laser rapiers seams tough for a 3k list
Yeah, but its was a good game haha!
With Night Lords you wanna avoid enemy death stars. When I play them I like to have Curze running around on his own killing high value Targets and dreadnoughts since he's fast. Night raptors doing cleanup deleting enemy infantry (don't fight them terminators tho). The idea is to kill everything while avoiding the enemy death star so it doesn't do shit during the entire game. Fairly thematic for NL aswell.
this is all very true, running Curze solo is risky tho with all those las cannon teams in the wild! - Ed
@@NovemberEchoWargaming that's correct, it's risky. Gotta pay attention to possibile threats using obstacles to cover him. Worked better in first Edition with Curze getting a default +3 on cover saves (even in the open, resulting in a 4+) but you can still pull it off. Right now he is weirdly written, being to fast for terminators but to slow for night raptors.

Great battle report! Something to remember is if you hold ground you don't get counter attack it's specifically in the counter attack rule if I remember correctly

1:28:52 why not use Hit & Run from Curze to get out of that cc & site the objective? Hit & Run "a unit that contains at least one model with this special rule that is locked in combat can cost to leave combat at the end of the assault phase. If the unit wishes to do so, it must take an initiative test. " ... site then shoot the crap or if him and give him an inglorious death 😊
