    Hi Michael Tq for sharing this Steamed Cake recipe. Lucky it came out well but not as light as yours. Maybe I used soy milk instead of milk as my grand nephew is allergy to dairy products. Anyway he likes it.

    I’ve never steamed a cake before so how much water is used in the pan before the basket is in place? I’ve also seen a chef cover the cake pan with foil and then use a tight lid as well….your thoughts?

    Did you start with cold water in the steamer pot or you boiled the water first? Thank you.

    • @michaellim
      @michaellim  ปีที่แล้ว

      Steps:
      Prepare the Steamer:
      Make sure the steamer is clean and properly assembled, with the steaming rack or basket in place.
      Add Water:
      Pour an appropriate amount of water into the bottom of the steamer. The water level should be below the level of the steaming rack or basket, ensuring that the water does not touch the food when boiling.
      Turn on the Heat:
      Place the steamer on a stove burner.
      Turn the burner to a high setting to bring the water to a boil.
      Note:
      Once the water is boiling, you can place the food item (in this case, a cake) into the steamer basket or on the steaming rack, and adjust the heat as necessary, depending on your recipe’s requirements.
      Make sure to monitor the water level during steaming, adding more water as needed to prevent the steamer from running dry.
