I’ve been lucky so far. Most of the exhaust bolts I’ve had were broken off flush with the manifold and came out with Vice grips. My daily has one that looks like it may be flush with the head, but it’s not an issue yet so I’m not going to attempt it until I have to!
That Scout is going to be one heck of a trail rig when you're done. But if I was the owner i wouldn't paint the body because I'd scratch it all up in the woods anyway.
Hi Aaron. My son and I are kicking around the idea of doing a body swap with a 96 Chevy Suburban as the donor for our 1976 IH Scout Terra II. I love the idea but the Scout Terra II isn't four wheel drive just two. Sounds like a crap ton of work however sounds cool when its done. Trying to decide if I should rebuild the 304 that's in it or swap it. Totally enjoy how you are sharing your experience on this channel.
In my opinion 304s are under powered. I have a rebuilt one with 500 miles on it for sale and can’t sell it. As far as the suburban swap goes. Sounds like a cool idea but I would take some measurements. I think you would be better off with a 4 door s10 blazer chassis
Hey Aaron, I am enjoying your videos. I am planning on the same project in the future. I am buying a 73 Scout II, My Son wrecked my 2003 Silverado in 2019 and I am going to swap the engine, tranny and maybe the transfer case. I was hoping you were going to do everything from scratch so I could learn from you instead of using the kit from Anything Scout because in my opinion that kit is outrageously priced for what you get. I think it's around 2000. and that doesn't include the wiring harness and some other items that you will need to complete the build.
It is a really nice kit and comes with everything but the engine harness. In my opinion it’s well worth the money because you will pay more to get all the stuff to do it separately
@@HarmonGarage Thanks for getting back to me Aaron. Yeah you're right, it is a nice kit and it would take alot of guess work out of the process, but I'm having a hard time with the idea of forking out $2100.00 probably closer to $2500 with tax, shipping, etc. but we'll see, I haven't even picked up the Scout yet so it's still a ways off so I will be able to do somemore research and figure it out. I am learning a lot from your videos and am looking forward to your next one. Keep up the good work! Take Care, Brian

That kit had some thick metal. Hope your welder isn't some 90 amp lol.
It’s not that thick. And yes I have a good welder
Do you have any 6.2 or 6.5L Detroit diesel trucks?
Yes

Hope the Rithim pushes your stuff Bro.

Hi buddy

I always 👍like videos I watch I figure it’s the least I can do for TH-camrs that work to make the content and if comments help I’ll do that as well.
Thank you, I appreciate it
