Thank you so much, and what ever you had to do at or around the oil filter. Can’t wait and thanks again and keep up the great videos!! Your friend jerry
I’m definitely pro LS swap everything generally, but this time idk.😂 That’s a real original (appearing)car that looks like it deserves to have a well built Pontiac motor in it. Like you said though “to each their own” and that’s what he wants and I respect that I’m just stating what I’d do. My first car was a 1980 Trans Am. I paid 350.00 for it in 2000, while it was a great deal from a family I was close with you can imagine it wasn’t pristine😂 That one needed a junkyard LS swap not this car.😂
@ I agree, but a nice a built Pontiac motor seams more fitting than an LS. Much more expensive to do, but still. Like I said if it was my roached out jalopy I wouldn’t hesitate to put an LS in it.😂
In ‘79 the automatic cars got the 403 Olds, while the 4 speed cars got the Pontiac 400. While a Pontiac engine is super cool, especially in something like this. The LS provides cheap horsepower that will be much more fuel efficient and reliable when done right. Which will be a certainty here. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@jeffdillard5742 I agree 💯. That’s why I pulled the stock 5.7 tbi with 200hp out of my K5 Blazer and put a fresh built 6.0 and turbo in it. Literally 5 times the factory wheel hp, reliable and with better fuel economy. So I get it, it’s just an opinion about this specific car, no hate like I said I love LS’s but there’s also something cool about looking under the hood of a Pontiac and seeing a badass Pontiac motor in it.
You did a great job on the LS and I learned a lot but I didn’t understand about the oil filter on what you had to change. Was the rings and rod bearings okay you didn’t say if you looked at any and I know you said it was running and running good. But it wouldn’t have cost much to tearing it would it? I’m learning a lot from you, me and my son want to do one and also do you have to change LS wiring and computer in the trans Am? Thanks for your videos I enjoy ever one. Thanks your friend Jerry from Grant Alabama!!
The cylinders still had cross hatching in them and no ring ridge and everything was tight with good oil pressure. No need in my opinion to do rings an bearings. I will go over all the wiring in a future video
looking good almost as good as a small block chevy engine
Thank you

It’s a 79 which has the olds 403 from the factory. It needs an upgrade.

@deegan727 this car has been redone. It’s not factory original.

Thanks that answered my question and I appreciate you getting back to me, I was hoping that came with the pan. Did everything come from jagg
No. The only thing I got from Jeff’s was the lifters and trays. Most of the rest is from Amazon
