Also, they closed it because of their health condition not because of debts. So, I'm gonna say that this is one of the restaurants that got "happy ending"

Breaks my heart to see someone whose fear of failing is the thing that stops them trying. Breaks my heart because I'm the same. So many wasted opportunities.
I agree with @aquarius. Man, even though sometimes you feel or fear you can't do it, whatever it is, you shall never stop trying. Stupid to say, but there's always some fire inside that wait only to be rekindle, over and over. You got this man, go on and be strong! 👊🏻
As much as its heartbreaking you always have to remember that the great thing about failing is the lesson it teaches you so it helps you going forward not to make the same mistake and i know thats easier said than done i fail at a lot of things in life also but the point is you cant always win, we all fail at somepoint and thats the beauty of failing its the recovery that makes success that more bittersweet when you achieve it, dont give up !
JUST. DO IT XD So sorry, I had too :/ More seriously, therapy can help for such issues if you can afford it. Or starting by simple things. Adding spice here and there. Like: running in the rain. You cannot fail that I know but it's also a mental barrier people have. And I gotta say it's actually quite nice if you can change clothes right after ;) Once you start to challenge yourself doing things you think you cannot/shouldn't do, it becomes easier and easier :)
I feel the same. Sometimes, it just feels like I cant do anything right and i did not notice I just stopped trying and started accepting that I'm such a failure. 🥺
Gordon's treating them differently because he knows they are quite different than other egoistic owners and chefs. He probably knows that they just don't believe on themselves and underestimate themselves quite badly.
Gordon is really good at catering to different personalities. You see a lot of arrogant owners in KN but he knows not to beat down on these two because he sees they have different emotional needs. I always say each KN episode is like a therapy session being given by Gordon.
They were just clueless and lazy at first but at the same time they really need his help and listen to him. Their restaurant last longer for 8 years until they closed it at 2019 because of their health condition.
@@margarethmichelina5146 wow thanks ive been looking for the update of the restaurant. Kinda sad that they had to stop because of their health conditions.
Seeing Jim having a breakdown while cleaning up and muttering to himself like that is heartbreaking. I've been in that headspace before and it feels bad.
Don't forget what the chef said about the twins - and he really knows! "If they don't get their way they cry, or have a temper tantrum. There's a part of me that's glad to see the boys get what they deserve - a lesson in humility". That said, this is one of the rare 'Kitchen Nightmares' restaurant success stories. It was made and transmitted in 2011, and 'Capris' stayed open serving great pizzas amd meatballs in particular until 2019, when it closed 'due to health issues'.
Gordon ramsay isn't just a chef He's a therapist, a man who can make people feel better by confronting them with their mistakes And that is a quality our society needs

These two broke my heart, makes me want to give them a hug. I'm glad they took what Gordon gave them and ran with it for 8 years. I hope they're doing alright
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! PAAAAAIIIINNNN!!!!!! I broke my hand yesterday because of the hate comments I get all the time. I was so angry that I punched a hole in my computer. Please don't hate me, dear hrn
That bit when he breaks down cleaning the fridge gets me everytime. Thats just pure mental exhaustion, especially refusing to take even a 5 minute breather to gather yourself. Been there man, its not a nice mental space to be in. Glad they managed to turn things around in the end, hope they’re both well whatever they’re doing since selling up.
That isn't mental exhaustion. He just cries about everything he does wrong without trying to fix it, like a baby shitting it's pants. You can tell by his 100 pounds of fat that he hasn't been exhausted in a while.
The way Gordon said “you’re not a failure” made me wanna cry man. I know exactly how it feels to think you could’ve done more to succeed at something. In my case it was a marriage. It took me years to forgive myself for my failure at being a good husband/step parent. . It’s a very empty, lonely, horrible place to be. It did teach me one thing though, you only have one chance at most important things so give it your all or don’t bother even trying. To hear that from someone of Gordons stature must’ve felt so good. I have so much god damn respect for that man.
I thought the moment when Gordon wipes up a bit of cheese hanging from one brother's (can't tell if it's Jeff or Jim) mouth was completely adorable. A very sweet paternal gesture, like a parent would do for a young child.
It’s clear these two has a mental thing that was more unique then a normal person. Chef Ramsay saw that and you can tell he was a lot more gentle with them than others.
Closed in 2019 due to health reasons. Had great reviews and won best pizza in Eagle Rock. Glad they had a good run after the show. Such a likeable pair who just lost their way.
Amazing I was thinking they might have had it sold after they had it renovated for free but not only did they kept it running but they improved and won an award. Hats off to these guys, absolute respect!
Jim cleaning and telling himself how he can´t clean anything and is messing up broke me. This boy is deeply hurt inside and told himself these things for all his life after others told them to him for all his life. That was so, so painful it made me tear up...
Omg I started laughing then ended up feeling so bad for these poor twins, how did their parents raise them. I almost feel like they were constantly berated and told they were lazy failures. I love Gordon he always does his best
I think they were treated like entertainment and told they were nothing else. BC like- the way they act together feels like a put together comedy act? But also it feels like hidden insecurity. One responds by crying and the other by getting aggressive.
no way, they were raised like big babies having anything they wanted. Now that they're being told they need to actually work for what they want, they're crying about it
You know, admitting a failure makes so so so much more of man then beeing indenial and arrogant. Even if he cries, Gordon knows that. Thats why he isn't going to yell/curse like we love him. Really opened my heart with the little pep talk on 17:45. Sad to hear that they closed in 2019 but they had a hella off a good run after the show. One of the few Restaurant's that actually took advantage from the opportunity with Gordon. Such a heartwarming Ep. :)

Jeff is pretty much one of those persons who would really deserve so much more love, he is so genuinely disappointed about his own and the restaurants failures.
These boys seem like they have certain mental I’ll health, depression, anxiety, potentially PTSD, Potentially Autism, potential Intellectual disability, im really glad Gordon dealt with them the way he did he got down to their level and helped them understand. This one has to be the most wholesome episode I’ve seen
It was surprising to me that they stayed open for so long. I got the impression they're the kind of people who would thrive under a leader or manager but struggle on their own. They really just needed Gordon to tell them how to do stuff. Most chefs are just lazy but these people just didn't seem to know a lot of the cooking rules.
This episode is one of my favourites as it's a perfect representation exactly why Gordon is respected as much as he is. He goes from a hard drill sergeant putting people in their place to a patient mentor when it's needed from him. Just the way he says "You are _not_ a failure" is so kind and compassionate that it'd lift anybody up. Gordon, at his core is a kind soul but he'll only help you if you willingly admit your faults and commit to his advice. Otherwise you're in for the dressing down of a lifetime.
Yeah, he's not letting them be foul-mouthed and stubborn. Especially since some mistakes can be lethal when it comes to food. Plus health hazards and stuff.
I deeply feel sad for Jeff and Jim. It's painful seeing them admit they are a failure even though we know they actually aren't. They have just lost their way that's all. Props to both of them for being strong and continued running their restaurant till 2019 and props to Gordon also for making the twins see that both of them have a lot of potentials and are good at cooking. This episode is so wholesome especially knowing that this turned out well even after the episode aired...
@@Stomski hmm good question. Losing your way is like walking to a path where failure awaits. The twins didn't actually fail they just came too close to failure which could have happened if the twins themselves chose not to help each other and ofc without Gordon's piece of advice. I hope you understand my explanation, English is not my native language so I apologize in advance for grammatical errors
I find it really difficult to feel any form of empathy for them. I worked in a restaurant and we had a new boss who was just like them, a 45 years old child who played at being the boss. He wanted that job just for free food and the feeling of having power but didn’t do any work. When things got rough, and of course it did, he positions himself as a victim, crying over everything that happens to him (even though he made it happens). They are not bad people, but they never should have been in charge of a restaurant. As an employe, you’re not supposed to feel like you have to babysit your boss.
These two are gold. Maybe not too much for a restaurant business but well, any one can learn, and its easy when you have a positive spirit (perhaps with a dash of naïveté). I liked the lightness of this episode, when so many other places are filled with psychorigid egomaniacs so full of themselves and as versatile as concrete.
@@lanthanumlanthanium6373It’s only partly scripted, really. „Manipulated reality“ would probably be more correct. At least in this format it’s taking what’s there and dialing it up to 11 with overbooked services and Gordon being disruptive on top. Doesn’t mean that moment is fake necessarily.
Gordon genuinely looking at that guy when he says "I'm a failure" the sincerity in his voice when he's like "you are not?!" it actually brought me to tears. 27:23
Thank goodness he was compassionate and not contemptuous. The twin was very vulnerable. Another's kindness can soothe and motivate others at low points.
All the twins really needed was that push. Gordon gave them that push and they really pulled through until 2019 when it had to close due to health reasons.
After binging a few episodes with some truly deplorable owners (Including the Amy's Baking episode) this one was refreshing. Jim's breakdown while cleaninf the grate and the whole boxing scene from Jim telling Gordon that he feels like a failure to the brothers sparing and telling each other they'll support each other...one of the best KH moments Ive seen.
Out of all the owners, these are some of my favorites. They are genuine and despite everything, very accepting of change unlike a majority of the owners usually seen in KN. I was delighted to hear that the restaurant actually stayed opened until 2019.
not only that but every wednesday they made 'ramsay burger special ' which is a beef patty with fish paste and pork scratchings. it goes down a treat with the like younger folks
Easily one of the best episodes of the entire series. Two guys who genuinely needed help and were receptive and appreciative. Love watching Gordon encourage them so much.
Omg I don't know what happened to these twins or how they were treated when they were growing up but it is absolutely heart breaking to see them saying they are failures
The restaurant last for 9 years with 4+ stars review after the episode was aired. However, the place closed down in 2019 due to one of them having health issue.
@@rishisaaptacha Nah, not learning disabilities. It’s just laziness fueled by depression and lack of confidence - probably had someone growing up always thinking of them as failures, that they couldn’t do anything right, were too “goofy” to be serious, etc. That has an effect on someone and can alter how they behave greatly. Doesn’t automatically mean they have a learning disability - they’re incredibly smart guys just going through a rough patch for the world to see.
Yeah I’ve often wondered that too poor guys. Then they got the ultimate revenge - success. I hope 86 Denise and the Amy’s Baking Company owner gets to see this one. Denise especially - fake tears GR can spot from 20 miles away. They seem like the people who would have bullied the twins in school.
To be fair at least Gordon's aware it's gum and that it's disgusting to have there Unlike me who from 2-10 years old never realized it was dried gum that I was picking from the bottom of the church pews
I prefer to see an owner crying because he realise how bad his own restaurant has become rather than an owner with a smile on his face an oblivious to the reality he is living in.
This restaurant was a rare 'Kitchen Nightmares' success story. It was filmed and transmitted in 2011, and the twins were in business until selling up in 2019 'due to health issues'. The twins posted on Facebook: "The end of an era. Thank you all, we will miss you!!!"
Fun Fact: Jeff & Jim used to star in a late 90's teen sitcom called Teen Angel, in which they played a side role of bumbling twins that where often mainly used for comic effect.
One of few episodes where the owners and staff are genuinely lovely deserving people. The twins are just really nice guys too and not a bad bone in them. Love that it worked out for them. Even Gordon was mild with them appropriately.
This is the first time I've seen Chef Ramsay actually pity owners. These guys are impossible to hate, but they we so so so over the heads. Glad it all worked out
I empathise with the twins so much. That headspace of feeling like a failure is crippling. I was diagnosed with depression years ago and there’s a lot of really dark days. Man, there are plenty of days where I’ve genuinely considered just giving up and ending it. What’s worse is when you feel the judgement of your family and friends for not being as active or staying home. My brother in particular is the type of person who’s driven solely by money, it’s actually kinda sad that any time he buys something there’s an intention of it somehow making him money. And sure it’s awesome to have wealth, but if that’s all you care about you can’t judge others. For the past 4 years I’ve worked for a charity organisation here in New Zealand, for people with neuromuscular conditions. As I’m one of them I decided to step up and make an effort. 2 Years was as the Youth Representative and 2 as a general employee I guess. I write articles, attend a lot of meetings, make decisions, and participate in events. Recently I was promoted to VP and doing a lot more to support our membership. Despite all those responsibilities, and the work I do, I still feel like a failure day to day. Like I’m the most worthless shit in the world. I know that I was chosen for my new role because the staff all trust and believe in me, seeing my work over the last few years and thinking I’m worthy of the title. But damn, that weight… it’s almost unbearable. It’s like having a little storm cloud following you around every second of every day. Depression is real monster…
I feel you. I have depression too and despite the skills that I have, I still feel like I should've never been born and have even attempted to end it twice. I hope you are getting the help you need and gradually have some positivity in your life, It takes time, and if you work hard and allow yourself to be patient and kind, It will get better for you. Trust me, It took me a lot of courage to reach out to find a therapist that would listen and understand me, but I finally found one, and I'm working on being a more positive person
You say you write articles, but have you ever written to *yourself* ?? Just what you wrote here about your activities, and other's trust and respect for you---- says everything BUT failure!! Keep going as you are---- Good luck!!

when that guy was cleaning and he started saying he’s a failure and he can’t take a break because he’s already lazy enough, and he kept saying it. that dude, fr no jokes, needed to go to therapy and unload. that isn’t right and i genuinely got a little upset because it reminded me of myself before therapy.

This is one of the episode in KN that made me emotional. You can really feel their sadness and their disappointment on themselves. It makes me relate to them so much as I'm also a lazy person and feel like a failure. I'm still a teen, but seeing my friends progressing, I can't help but to put myself on their shoes and Gordon, for the love of God is so eye opening. He really is a role model.

XD So sorry, I had too :/ More seriously, therapy can help for such issues if you can afford it.

Gordon's treating them differently because he knows they are quite different than other egoistic owners and chefs. He probably knows that they just don't believe on themselves and underestimate themselves quite badly.

"I can't clean anything, I'm a failure". That tore through me 💔
I deeply feel sad for Jeff and Jim.
Isn't losing your way a form of failing though? Sincere question.

It’s like having a little storm cloud following you around every second of every day.

smts ppl do that when things go to shit. like nervous laughter/smiling/laughing at a funeral type thing
Potentially lethal mistake; not using Chef Mike.
i mean, thats exactly what you shouldnt defrost with
Never felt bad for the owners of a KN episode before. But these two, especially when they were crying, man that really tugged on my heartstrings. They seem like 2 really likeable genuine guys that genuinely got too complacent!
i was watching this shit crying like a baby
This is one of my favourite episodes in this show. It's a shame they closed down later but hey they need to prioritise their health. I'd consider this a success on Gordon's end for helping these two
Gordon Ramsay, a cook and and a therapist
and and ?
go into a bar
He's also a Russian spy, but the episode is only so long. Comrade Ramskin.
Whoever was in charge of the sound effects for this episode absolutely nailed it.
boioioiong
Lol the sound effect at 27:14 had me absolutely dying
This is one of the episode in KN that made me emotional. You can really feel their sadness and their disappointment on themselves. It makes me relate to them so much as I'm also a lazy person and feel like a failure. I'm still a teen, but seeing my friends progressing, I can't help but to put myself on their shoes and Gordon, for the love of God is so eye opening. He really is a role model.
You are not a failure. As long as one keeps trying, one can never be a failure. You are young and maybe you haven't found something that makes you feel so passionate, it beats the laziness (whatever you define as laziness).
Look out for what gets you excited to start your day! That's how i beat my laziness ;-)
Speaking generally here
Only feeling sad and disappointed isn't gonna change anything is it?
Laziness is a choice, you can't blame anyone else for your laziness so if you want a change you have to make it yourself
It's okay to be lazy but it's not okay to stay lazy
@@QTSG hi, i just saw your comment today and thank you for affirming me. I'm doing a bit great now ❤️
@@Pyroblaze212 I'm much better now than before and thank you. Yes i agree being sad isn't enough. I'm trying my best to be good at something, tho sometimes i still get disappointed, but I have a better mindset now :))
The fact that op actually made an effort to reply to the comments is something I didn't know I need
29:14 Everytime i see the part were Jim and Jeff are boxing, i call it a "Tweetle Beetle Battle"
These 2 are really sweet and I’m super happy that they continued for quite a long while after the show ended.
Did they close eventually, and why?
@@dadestor closed down in 2019 due to health reasons :(
@@niegilsuck3072 Still, mad props for them actually maintaining the standard Ramsey left them with, unlike many other restaurants that die or get sold shortly after.
Yes, I feel like they were the least problematic owners on KN lol
@@niegilsuck3072 the twins had health issues or the restaurant did?
These guys were some of the sweetest albeit laziest owners I have seen. Really glad they pulled through after Gordon’s advice and help.
This gotta be one of my favorite episodes, it's so motivating and inspiring, nothing is really impossible and you can change yourself and your surrounding at any time, we all just need this little push from people we appreciate and love to move forward
so true :)
This episode is rare as there is no villain. There's no one with a malignant personality trait. It's just a likeable set of folks that are doing their honest best which sometimes isnt enough.
Chef Ramsey is the World Legend. Teaching a timeless lesson; not how to cook, but how to be successful, in anything you do. Such discipline and motivation. His commitment inspires the world to success.
Oh, and he's a world-class chef.
Keep going Gordon.
He's got that OJ Simpson winning drive. Only the best 👌 💯🏅🛺
@@degaulle30 say, didn't that dude murder a guy?
i love gordon. he is strict but never heartless. he has sympathy. he knows to comfort the owners when they have breakdowns
26:30 broke my heart when Ramsay trys to lift there's spirit up when they are going down on themselves... showing his true and nice colors!
I'm so happy for them, this is my fav episode I swear
