The only thing I would ever publicly root for your Longhorns to do, is to make it home safe. But I have to grudgingly admit that if it can't be us, we are glad you guys are in the SEC championship this first year. It sort of puts them on notice.
Oklahoma has had their top 5 receivers out pretty much all year, and like 4 offensive linemen out. Not to mention the players that got injured in this game. And the new offensive coordinator got fired halfway through the season. All while dealing with the 2nd toughest schedule in college football with a first year starting QB. They've been going through it this season.
If Oklahoma can get a healthy O line and receiver core back, they might take a run at the National Championship. Venables’ defenses are always the best in the country.
Prior to this game, OU had not rushed the field at home since 2000 when they upset #1 Nebraska and ended a decade long period of mediocrity. Given their struggles this year with having their top 5 wide receivers out hurt the whole year and a decimated O-Line, plus the head coach's family dealing with a cancer battle, I think this was just an emotional release that the entire team and fan base needed.
I feel so fortunate to have attended this game. I had no plans of going, but something told me to buy a ticket. It's been a ROUGH season for Oklahoma - quite possibly the worst season in over 25 years for the Sooners. I got a single ticket about 3 hours before kickoff next to the Bama away section. I told myself that I'd regret it if we somehow managed to pull off the upset. Glad I did! OU hasn't stormed the field in 24 years.
As a Tennessee fan, thank you Oklahoma and (can’t believe I’m saying this Florida) for knocking off two teams ahead of us and putting us back in the playoff picture.
Oklahoma changed their entire offense over the week so all of the defensive prep Bama did during the week was useless. The offense was just anemic and I wasn’t terribly surprised because Venibles had our offense’s number 3:09 when he was the DC at Clemson. On top of that this coaching staff seems to be unable to adjust at halftime.
If you're going to an OU game, I recommend going to the Texas vs OU game. It's during the Texas state fair and rodeo, so there's great food and a fun atmosphere. But the best part is watching one of the biggest rivalry games in college football.
The Penn State punter was trying to make it look like there was a bad snap and the ball had gone over his head to the right, to draw the defense to the right while the ball carrier went left.
Punter is used as misdirection as some defensive players may think he has the ball and is running. So they sent him in the opposite direction of the blocking scheme, because in football with these athletes sometimes all you need is for a defender to take a wrong half-step ("influence the defender") or hesitate and it can help the play succeed because the defender has lost the angle and or the time to react. Every player has a specific role in each offensive play and is expected to carry it out as possible for the play to succeed as designed.
4:24 - This is the first time Oklahoma fans rushed the field since 2000, when they beat their biggest rival number 1 Nebraska, after being terrible throughout the 1990's. Oklahoma went on to win the National Championship that year. Something that no one saw coming. The current Oklahoma head coach was a young defensive coordinator for Oklahoma at the time. The fans threw the goal posts into the nearby duck pond. Lol
Penn State's punter was acting as if it was a high snap that had gone over his head and to the right. Any defense players would then not expect to see him have the ball and they would be distracted by looking for where the ball was down the field. That took their focus away from the side they had actually run the ball towards.
4:04 - Idk when the last time Bama only scored 3 points, but the last time they didn't score a TD was in 2011. I think they won by having multiple field goals. There was a lot of unprecedented stats that they were showing for that kind of stuff during the game.
Georgia winning the natty? They just took 8 overtimes to beat an unranked ACC team. But honestly anything can happen this year, it's been one of the wildest CFB seasons I've seen in a very long time.
Yes, there has been quite a few field rushes this year. The university is fined $250k by the conference for the first instance then $500k for the second, etc. during each competition year
@ That is correct. My error on the penalty. It starts at $100k and goes up incrementally for any field of play incursions in subsequent games. Oklahoma managed to get two $100k penalties for the same game 😂
On the FAKE punt the punter acted like the snap from center was over his head to his right side and that's why he darted in an angle back to his right side. It was to possibly freeze a couple of opposing players for a split second.
The stadiums are full of drunk college kids and drunk adult alumni and random locals....if you beat your rival, no matter how shit your team is....they're "pitch invading". Happens in college basketball too...court storming it's called
This is a little embarrassing for OU fans to storm the field, let alone do it early. Fans storm the field when their team beats us, not when we beat them. TBF, Alabama fans would say the same thing of course. But yeah, act like you been there before, fans.
Field rushes used to be more rare they usually only happen if you beat a rival you haven’t beaten in like 20 years or if you win against a top 5 team when your team has always been a horrible team like Tennessee stormed the field last year when they beat Alabama cause they hadn’t beaten Alabama in a really long time and vandy stormed the field when they beat Alabama because vandy has always been the bottom of the sec but I just don’t understand rushing the field in this instance Oklahoma has always been a top tier team except for this year
Gentlemen, Sooners vs Texas. That is the game to go see. Crowd is split 50/50. It is at the State Fair. It gets rowdy and usually it is a good game unless the Sooners can't move the ball for shit like this year! Boomer Sooner!
I can't laugh hard enough! FUDGE Alabama!!! They shouldn't have even been ranked #7 after 2 losses!! Their garbage overrated team has been getting exposed all year! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA
The AP poll has nothing to do with the College Football Playoff. There’s a Playoff Selection Committee that seeds the playoff, and it isn’t based on the AP
@@AlexanderWinterborn-r6plol no way you think bama was the only one winning in the sec. I guess Georgia, LSU, Florida, and Auburn haven’t actually won several championships in the last 20 years huh? How many have the other conferences won since then…combined?

FAKE PUNT: Punter ran backwards simulating a bad snap, when the long snapper snaps the ball right over the punters head. This generally causes defenses to attack towards the punter seeking a big loss of yards. This deception can give the player running the ball an easier run as defense focus on punter chasing a bad snap.

note* Not all fake punts use this method. The bad snap deception is just one way of doing this.
Go Sooners🎉 Goodnight Bama😢. Check out the #1 team in the country. 12&0. The only undefited Team left. Sorry OSU blackeye. It could have been u, but u now lost 4 strat- 2 Michigan. Its ok PSU will take the spanking for you. ha.ha..Video (That Team Out West/ Speed/fall camp week 3 2024.) or (Ducks vsThem/game 6 2024.) A blessed winter semester to everyone. ❤🎉 Go Ducks 🎉❤
Oklahoma is arguably the best team in the history of college football when you look at the entire history of the program. They rank in the top 5 in most program statistics like wins, win percentage, number 1 rankings, time in the AP Top 25, National Championships, and Heismans.
The storming had less to do with Alabama and more to do with the season we’ve had. This was just a turning point that the fans and Venables needed. Plus we don’t get to do that often might as well do it once. If it makes you feel better that may be the last time anyone storms the field after beating Alabama for a long time.
The field stormings are definitely getting out of hand the last couple years. It wasn’t always like that. This year they started fining universities for doing it, but it doesnt stop em. There isnt enough security to stop it
As a Longhorn fan, way to go OU! Maybe this will convince the SEC "elites" to NEVER underestimate OU. Texas has found this out many times.
The only thing I would ever publicly root for your Longhorns to do, is to make it home safe. But I have to grudgingly admit that if it can't be us, we are glad you guys are in the SEC championship this first year. It sort of puts them on notice.

Our fans behaved badly at the end. Hello from Oklahoma City Oklahoma!
How? By rushing the field? Sheesh.
@stischer47 $250,000.00 fine by the SEC. That's bad in my mind. Everyone has a right to comment and have an opinion.
