That's the LA Coliseum built for the '32 Olympics. It's where the Rams and Raiders played back in the day. It's been remodeled moving the field closer to the "closed end" to get fans closer. It seats over 77,000 for USC football even with those empty seats.
Excited to hear yall will be at the whiteout. I was in the student section in 2019 when the crowd noise made Michigan take a timeout on the first play. I don’t think I’ll ever be as hype as I was that day haha.
I'll be at the whiteout game with my son. If by chance l see you there, I'll buy you guys a beer. You'll be glad you picked this game, it's one hell of a great experience, and our fan base is one of the nicest you'll ever be around. 110,000 strong!
I went to the whiteout game last year with my dad and it was such a fantastic experience, make sure to have a walk around State College while you're doing your pub crawl, such a beautiful town as well. Even in the rain the Zombie Nation entrance was electric!
Hey guys, Penn Stater here. Whiteouts are awesome, you're gonna love it. If you haven't been before (I'm not familiar w/ your channel, so not sure if you've been before), a few things to know/do: * Plan to be early for tailgating. Town infrastructure is just not properly built for the scale of these events. Traffic sucks. The tailgate scene is great, and a lot of the bigger tailgates you come across are welcoming to all comers * Penn State started as an agricultural school and has an great creamery. Go get some ice cream. The line will be long. The weather might be cold. Do it anyway, it's legit. Ben & Jerry learned how to make ice cream at Penn State (no, seriously). * If you want to be a little touristy, get a picture at the Nittany Lion shrine. There'll probably be a decent line but it is a pretty traditional thing to do. Have fun! If you're lucky, it'll be a night game.
Just a heads up for the White Out, usually college game times are announced 12 days ahead of time so Monday Oct 28 should be when it's official. In the offseason they said that the game had been chosen because it was likely to not start before 3:30 PM so it'll likely either be 3:30 PM or 7:30-8:00 PM (hopefully the latter). My personal recommendation if you're tailgating would be to get there a minimum of 2 hours early depending on how much you want to do/explore. Also traffic around there starts to get tight once you get inside the 2 hour window since that's also when the stadium gates open.
Tyler Warren tied the all time college football record for most receptions by a TE in one game during this game. In even more impressive fashion, he played 7 out of the 9 offensive positions in one game...
I was hoping you Brits liked college football !!! So much more passion and energy surrounding the college game. OMG, yes the whiteout game!! You'll love it!! Liked and subscribed OB Daz from Denver, CO!!
Some Happy Valley helpful tips for gameday. As of right now kickoff has not been announced, should be announced around Monday the 28th. It’s a whiteout so anticipate a late afternoon or night game. Tailgate lots usually open at 7 or 8 am. People will be there early and all day. Recommend getting there as early as you want. People are friendly. I’m in lot 39 if you find yourself there looking for a beer. Wear white. The team bus arrives 2.5 hours before kickoff on the corner of Curtain and Porter. It’s a cool see. The creamery was mention earlier. Line will be long. Sometimes they do a separate line for pints to go vs cones/dishes. Pints to go is a LOT faster. The drive to state college from the east is BEAUTIFUL. It’s State College in November. It’s probably gonna be cold. Layers are recommended for when the sun goes down. If you have any questions, please reach out. Safe Travels and lastly, WE ARE!
Little ADVICE. Go the Day before and spend the money for a Hotel Room. The traffic is going to be horrible on gameday. "Happy Valley" becomes the 3rd largest City in Pennsylvania when Penn State plays a home game. That being said, you are going to love a white out. The atmosphere is incredible. Even more so, if they go in undefeated. Wisconsin isn't a push over team. I went to Penn State in the 1990's. I watched Kerry Collins, Ki-Jana Carter, Kyle Brady, the rest go undefeated.
I can tell you enough how infuriating this game was to watch as a penn state fan, especially in the first half. The amount of fundamentals for the defense that were just not there like tackling and holding the edge had me literally yelling at the TV. For reference, I learned this stuff in middle school when I was 13 and these guys are all wayyyyyy better than I ever could be...
The Whiteout is one of the greatest spectacles in sports. I've been to a couple including the first "official" one when we beat the shit out of Notre Dame but it's just too hard to get tickets and lodging is so expensive now unless you've got money or are willing to sleep on a couch in your fraternity's house after a party that goes until 4:00am. Getting old, I guess. Have a great time--it's an experience.
Aidan with a very astute take on holding. You just said the exact same thing John Madden said like 40 years ago and it's still true- "if the refs want to, they can call holding on every single play". It's all about knowing the ref crew and what you can get away with, but solid take there Aidan.
I can't believe you're coming to Penn State!!!! I'd like to personally invite you to our tailgate in LOT 34!!!! I've been watching you guys for a while. Best atmosphere in College Football. DM me if you guys are interested. Lots of food and beverage!
Yeah guys, the official ‘White Out’ game is always at night. Sometimes there’s a ‘stripe out’ for a day game. Fingers crossed for a great game vs OSU in 3 wks… and for good weather for the Washington game, too!
Going to the whiteout? You are going to see the greatest spectacle, environment, and tailgating experience in all of college football. Just walk around the tailgates, people will recognize you, and you'll have all the beer and food you can handle. Now ranked #3 but some tough games coming up, especially OSU.
Coming from a big Penn State fan for over 25 years I’m so happy to hear that you guys picked the “White Out” against Washington to go to you’ll experience one of the most ELECTRIC football games ever it was named THE GREATEST SHOW IN COLLEGE SPORTS ( actually of all sports ) you’ll also be a part of the 110k fans in the stadium not many places can say that, it doesn’t matter where Penn State is ranked the “ White Out “ is always electric but of course we want them to be ranked high, yes you must start early in the morning to tailgate around the stadium It will either be a 3:30 or 7:30 game walking around the tailgating they hand out a lot of free stuff, I don’t know how long you’re staying for but if you get a chance to walk around downtown the campus is beautiful there’s the Lion Shrine that you can take your pictures with and of course the well known Creamery the ice cream is out of this world, dress warm just in case and you must wear WHITE!!! Penn State fans our very welcoming…I hope to see you there WE ARE…. PENN STATE 4 EVER 💙🤍🏈🦁
I've never seen a team throw the ball so many times to one guy. I mean at what point is USC going to be able to cover Tyler Warren? The answer is...never!
Hi guys I hope you got my post about the “White Out” game I was trying to put some helpful things to check out. I’m so excited for you to go to this game.
I’ll be at the white out. Not only am I a Penn State alumni, that is my home town. I was born in the hospital near the stadium! 😀 I’ll be glad to buy you a beer if we see each other. 🍺
I am so confused. How do you Brits know so much about college football? I am so impressed by your knowledge of the sport. I am a Penn State alum and will see you at the game. The Whiteout game will be a night game. Probably a 730PM or 8PM start
Go up to the stadium about an hour early or you might miss kickoff. Security has been slowing down the entry for fans the past two games, and they weren’t the whiteout. If you want to tailgate for awhile, get to your lot four or five hours early.
True. PSU is always ranked higher than they maybe should be. Then we get a wake up call by a really good team like OSU. If we can beat OSU I might be okay with a top 5 ranking.
@@RealDiehl99 OSU is the team that is always ranked higher than they should be and if they are really a good team like you said they would’ve beaten Oregon just like Penn State was overlooked for the playoff and they put OSU in their even though Penn State beat OSU that year and when OSU played in that playoff they couldn’t score a single point and lost
@melaniesander2569 Just to be clear, Penn State is my team. I'm not trying to criticize the team bc I dislike them. It just feels like we get ranked higher than we should be each year. Then when we go up against another top 10 team, we get beaten. Yes, OSU lost to Oregon...barely. In the Polls a loss is penalized by moving the losing team down in the rankings of course. However, I think OSU's close loss to #2 Oregon was way more impressive than PSU barely beating unranked USC in overtime. I would love to be proven wrong this year when PSU and OSU Play each other in a few weeks.🤞
Wait... you were a USC fan, but because they moved conferences you aren't a fan anymore? That's pretty damn weird. You think if Alabama left the SEC, Alabama fans would be like "nope, I'm fucking done with this team!!" You think Texas fans jumped ship because they left the Big 12? Of course not... how silly would that be.
Penn State will not be number 1 at most maybe 3. Ohio state is better than Penn state with their only loss is to Oregon who is a really good team. Even if Penn state manages to beat Ohio State, they would at most be 3. Since they don’t play Oregon they have no chance of getting to 1. Oregon and Texas are competing for the number 1 spot.
So stoked to hear you fellas are headed to see my alma mater, and for a whiteout no less! Excellent decision, guys. Enjoy! WE ARE!!!

a good game to watch would be ... illinois vs purdue . illinois won 50-49 in OT . illinois had a big lead .
These 2 programs have around 10 championships between them, with USC having most of those.
