I raised 3 of them from babies and mine would sit on my lap and eat dandelions from my hand, we have a creek in the front and they'd follow me down, swim for awhile and then sit on the tree swing we had, and when we left, they'd fly and follow us, we'd have to stop, put them in the car, bring them back home and pen them so we could go somewhere. I had nothing but a great experience raising them and they never bit me, but if someone they didn't know came into the driveway, they would attack them. They're extremely loyal and protective.

At my school theres always a flock of these sillys that graze on our yard. They are actually insanely friendly and will eat out of your hand if your sitting down and super still. Ive never seen one be remotely aggressive, if a kid chases one it just quickly waddles away. Love these buggers

I adore these cobra chickens. I've befriended many of them around my job and I still get the question of, "how are you doing that? Don't they bite?" Well I mean yeah anything with a mouth does. But meet them on their level or let them come to you. I ended up rescuing 6 goslings that fell into a storm drain. Mama was sticking around in that area and I just had a thought that they may have fallen in. Poor things were huddled in a corner together. Steering wheel cover, bag, long broom and yarn. Got pictures of mom and babies reuniting together. Was super cute and sweet. Now the goslings are all grown up and I get to feed them oats or bird food.

I turned around and 3 geese started flying directly at me and trying to claw me for literally no reason... you don't even need to be near them, they are aggressive, territorial birds... Even bus stops with doors are not safe, they'll just wait for you to come out, and will keep attacking you until the bird gets smacked so hard it gets stunned 😂😂
To be fair the goose was probably annoyed at the continued touch while it was eating. My cat is the cuddliest pillow but also doesn't like being touched when he's busy eating. He does appreciate me standing there to guard him though

The reason they nibble at you like that is because you are part of their crowd. It makes sense to me, because they do that to each other, too. So if you can handle those love nibbles, yeah, they are pretty fun to hang out with.

Try explaining feral to a child who doesn't know English yet, who is raised by a refugee parent and that parent doesn't know English yet; that's what I dealt with for three years) I didn't just "live" in Lincoln NE's city parks for no reason. I felt a deep inner obligation to be a resource of support for people who needed a little extra regular life education. I volunteered for my community during the COVID pandemic. I don't want to see the work of people like Jane Goodall, Konrad Lorenze, Anyone from National Geographic or Mutual of Omaha go to waste. Geese and ducks, hawks, pigeons, black birds and owls are the middle men of the bird species. Without them, others will go extinct. They are more social than most. The Magpie, a breed of black bird, have been raised by humans and have learned to speak and sing. Lincoln NE's Geese can make noises like a car horn, have developed long-term relationships with the Humans they recognize, and become proficient in protecting their humans in bad weather. Seeing that animal behavior seems to be better than human behavior in the last few years really resonates with me. America doesn't need to lose Mother Nature's natural resources with state parks losing to big business corporations trying to buy up safe-haven land. That's just not right. That's another reason why you find "homeless" people once in awhile. There's a decent reason for homeless shelters. People who love the land, love nomadic life, love something different than owning a giant house with no grass to mow, or trees, or farming to raise animals, vegetables, grain -- We're how your food is put on the tables in your homes and the restaurants we eat at.

There's a bunch at my local park. They don't seem to mind people very much. I've sat down next to them and their pond, and sometimes they even wander onto the sidewalk and I have to actually stop and let them pass and they don't even speed up or seem at all concerned about me
I own a flock of them, and most of the time, my gander has a good reason when he nips me. Gotta keep in mind, they communicate through nipping and biting as well, we just dont have the down to protect our skin, like other geese. 😅 ...he just telling you to leave gim alone...your the "sensitive" one lol
I wish I could own geese, but I don’t have the right habitat for them bc I live near a forest, I would love to own some domestic ones since there’s lots of laws regarding keeping wild breeds such as Canadas as pets.
@evanmaldonado9799 you don't necessarily need a specific habitat to keep them. Space is what matters and you can set up pools for them (like the 6ft dog pools)
@@prettybirdthepetgoosefrien8155 I have some space in my backyard, no fences though and currently I own a dog and a cat, and they’re my priority for now and me and my parents have been taking good care of them and they’re quite a responsibility for us, so we aren’t trying to get another pet, plus my dog would bark whenever she sees geese and I having one in the house with my dog and cat would be a bad idea. It’s possible in the long run in the future when I’m older and have no more other pets and so I’m just setting it as a long term goal for me to own a goose.

In my city we share sidewalks with them, and are constantly only a couple of feet away from each other. They're really peaceful, they just prefer to be left alone.
We used to have them on our practice football field in high school. They’d be chasing us all through drills and you do not wanna get hit by their wings.

I wish I could own geese, but I don’t have the right habitat for them bc I live near a forest, I would love to own some domestic ones since there’s lots of laws regarding keeping wild breeds such as Canadas as pets.
@evanmaldonado9799 you don't necessarily need a specific habitat to keep them. Space is what matters and you can set up pools for them (like the 6ft dog pools)
@@prettybirdthepetgoosefrien8155 I have some space in my backyard, no fences though and currently I own a dog and a cat, and they’re my priority for now and me and my parents have been taking good care of them and they’re quite a responsibility for us, so we aren’t trying to get another pet, plus my dog would bark whenever she sees geese and I having one in the house with my dog and cat would be a bad idea. It’s possible in the long run in the future when I’m older and have no more other pets and so I’m just setting it as a long term goal for me to own a goose.

@drew8305 lol, sure. I am "responsible" for a gaggle of 12 and now a tiny gosling. I paid money to have them living with me and purchase their food and pay for medical care and IF a warden showed up at my house, I'd have to prove "legal ownership" ... but sure, I don't "OWN" them, (even tho legally I do lol) I am responsible for them lol

In my city we share sidewalks with them, and are constantly only a couple of feet away from each other. They're really peaceful, they just prefer to be left alone.
In my city they constantly remind you, "no, MF'er, this is MY path, in MY park!"
We used to have them on our practice football field in high school. They’d be chasing us all through drills and you do not wanna get hit by their wings.

They had these all over Washington State when I lived there. They would hold up traffic and just stop and stare at people in the middle of the street like "say something, I dare you" 😂
