    I approve of the doll head. My ex once bought me a disembodied mannequin's hand. She found it at some thrift place. Looks cool. I've had it on my record shelf for years.

    Love your colorful room, w/ such a nice view. Awesome music taste...Fela Kuti, Chris Isaak, punk in general and all the other stuff.
    For your three Ikeas, if you like to pimp them. Get yourself the thinnest chipboard in a hardware store and let it saw to the size of the back of each ikea-8-shelf. When you put them with spax srews at the back of your ikeas it will stay in form forever and you can push your records without them falling behind. I have the same shelfs and with that chipboard on the back you could place even one shelf allone and it stays very stable. Cheers from germany.

    I prefer to call my record room "The Conservatoir", but my wife calls it the "Junk Room" or "where the cat lives". I love Squier guitars - I have a 5 string J Bass, a J Masics Jazzmaster and a Tele that I have put a Gibson Factory P-90 in as the neck pick up. But where's your amplifier?

    • @ts_vinyl
      @ts_vinyl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha I like "The Conservatoir"! They're awesome, I forgot to say that mine was a Jazzmaster but not the awesome J Masics one unfortunately. A vintage 70's Telecaster is high up on my guitar want list. My amplifier was hiding behind my couch, it's just a small Vox.

    My God, Robert Gordon. By that I mean MY God, Robert Gordon. I remember when I was a teenager and his Fresh Fish album was released. I felt like I was looking in a mirror, at the kid inside of me. I especially was fascinated with the cover of "Bad Boy", and wished I could have a hairdoo like that (and a voice to match). But alas, there is only one Robert Gordon, and a frizzy haired introvert like me was never gonna steal that thunder. But that's ok. I'm glad we got one.

    Love these record room tours, so thank you for showing us around. I actually love the Audio-Technica turntables, they are perfect for great sound at lower volumes, which is perfect for me living in an apartment. Cats are wonderful, my 3 cats have scattered their toys everywhere. Their toys have a place, but they haven't learned how to put them back yet. Nice view. Great music room and as always, amazing vinyl!

    i like your room, view and colors. only thing i would recommend is to put your system near your tv so you can have one speaker on each side with stands, perhaps, or purchase some good value floor-standers from emotiva or q acoustics. you may find that you will be more immersed in your music set up that way thus finding it more enjoyable. peace.

    Nice room set-up, plenty of vinyl and some cool posters. I've recently moved house, still unpacking 3 mths in. I've got boxes of vinyl and C.Ds, and cassettes, i still buy them. I recently came into a lot of money, from my late Dad, and we are in the process of selling his house, so i'm due to come into £1000's more once it's sold, just waiting for an offer to meet or get near the asking value, hopefully in the next few wks/mths. So i've been in a position to upgrade, my music system, Record/C.D/Cassette collection. Bought some Kallax shelving from Ikea, for a reasonable price, still have to fill most of the shelves, been really busy clearing out old house, and running new house, and working on-line, which takes up a lot of my time. I've invested in some nice separate Hi-Fi systems, luv the A.T Turntables, i own 2 an Lp 60, like yours, v. cool cause it's automatic, and a manual L.p 120 Direct Drive, the sound is amazing from both systems, i've also got a Denon Amp, and a Denon C.D player, and a Double Cassette player, to play my rapidly expanding cassette tapes on, never owned one before, sound is amazing from that, with 30/ 40+ yrs old cassetes, still buy them on-line and from charity shops. As for vinyl i've been lucky to b e able to buy rare albums, early U.S pressings of V.Us ,debut album with the peel back banana skin cover, an early U.K pressing of the Who's debut album from 65, a U.S demo copy of No more Heroes by one of my fav groups the Stranglers never owned it before. An Aretha Franklin demo copy of Young gifted and Black, an early U.K pressing of NMTB by the Sex Pistols, with original pink back cover, never owned that on vinyl before, Japanese Cream Wheels of Fire, Japanese Prince Purple Rain, an early U.K pressing of Dusty in Memphis, a Japanese Dusty Springfield comp, an early U.K pressing of Revolver i paid 100s of £s for, a mispress of Abbey Road, the Kinks 60s back catalogue, remasters, not original copies unfortunately. I have original 60s Beatles albums, original Muddy Waters and B.B King albums, a 50s original Bo Diddley album, single box sets of the Beatles on vinyl and the Stones in Mono, The Beatles, C.D box sets, Mono and Stereo albums, the Stones 60s Mono Albums on C.D, the Stones vinyl singles in Mono box set, the Beatles E.P collection on C.D, the Beatles Capitol Albums Vols 1+2 on C.D, the Beatles Revolver 50th remastered C.D box set with alternate takes, a collection of most of Led Zeps early albums on cassette, an Amy Whinehouse singles box set on vinyl, Amy at Glastonbury on vinyl. Queen's complete album discography on coloured vinyl, Queens Platinum collection on coloured vinyl, Queens the Complete Works comp, from their 1st album, up to the Works album, box set on vinyl, inc tour dates, map, discography booklet and cool No'd laminated sleeves for each album, i paid 100s for each of these. I've also got most of Steelye Dan's back catalogue on C.D and a cool Suzi Quatro discography box set on C..D, a few Bowie upgrade albums Diamond Dogs, Low. A Fleetwood Mac 25 yrs C.D Box set, Captain Beefhearts Safe as Milk on vinyl , his best album an upgrade of Frank Zappa's Hot Rats, album, his best album, most of Rory Gallagher's back catalogue on vinyl most of Johnny Winters back catalagoue on Vinyl and C.D Box sets, a few Queen Deep Cuts comps on C.D, a couple of Allman Brothers Albums on vinyl, the list goes on , rare Kins promo Cassette from the 80's an upgrade of Buzzcocks Going Steady comp, voted the best comp album of all time, a Buzzcocks C.D box set. Need to set up my Hi-Fi equipment, when i get round to it.

    I just moved into my new apartment and everything was designed with my records and books in mind. Like the windows are not too wide so I could fit shelves between them and also made a tiny extra room in the back for old records from the 70s that are in regular condition so I won't have to breath them. I also had to fix the roof cause there were some leaks and of course having records I'm terrified of that. Still have some leaks in the kitchen. Everything looks so cool and your apartment, loved every space of it.

    Don’t get rid of your cassettes. Trust me I’m 52 years old and when your my age you’ll wish you kept them. I’m at the age where I still actively collect vinyl, cassettes, cds, dvds, VHS, book, etc etc. Your going to want the hoard to grow WAY beyond a manageable level. That’s when you’ve gone far beyond being helped. It’s the place to be.

    It's cool that you listen to rock and punk. When I was your age it wasn't cool to listen to both genres. I know, stupid as it sounds but that's the way some were. I listened to a heavy dose of classic rock and then Blondie, The Clash and The Cars came along which caught my attention. I dabbled into a bit of everything when I reached my early 20s. Some new wave and jazz fusion or more or less rock fusion were thrown into the mix. Now I listen to everything. Yes, even Olivia, Taylor, and Billie.

    Mornin' Sam! Thanks for the tour. A lotta similarities over here,..1 bed 1 bath apt,..we have the same turntable, and i also use the compartment cube things from Better Homes. I have an 8 section and two 3 sections as of now,I don't have quite as many records as you do. I don't have all my posters and stuff put up yet til after i finish painting and arranging stuff. Several Donald Fagen items, a Cream poster,..Eagles, Devo..etc etc. I have the Frankenstein system,..Yamaha 200 watt stereo with 250 watt Klipsch tower speakers and smaller wattage bose speakers to add a lil surround sound (along with the audio-technica turntable). Really enjoy your videos and seeing your collection. Someday I'll out one together and show off my lil listening station,humble as it may be. Happy Monday,hope you're feeling better.

      Glad to inspire! I'm kind of shy when it comes to my artistic ventures but if I ever find an excuse in one of my videos to show off one of my pieces I will do it. Good luck on your listening space!

    Thanks for showing your room. Fun that sony mini-system is still working! And CD player on it is still working. I have couple of mini-systems, and the CD isn't working anymore. One from 90's and other I would guess is from 2000 and something.
    Fun wall with all those pictures. And you see also some green when you look out from your window, that is big bonus. Right?

    You're awesome...thanks for sharing! I've been wanting to get a cool crate for my new "need to listen" records but i have a black cat too and i think she might chew on it cause she's a monster. Also...more cameos from your kitty in videos! 😉

      Also...is Maggie named after Maggie May? And the most controversial part of your video is that you filed Mos Def into the "D" section..now I'm rethinking my collection!

    • @ts_vinyl
      @ts_vinyl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@elkvision Partially... I initially just named her Maggie after the character from the play Cat On A Hot Tin Roof then her name sort of evolved into Maggie May. And she is very camera shy I think she has only popped up in a couple of my videos before. Haha I always go back and forth between putting Mos Def in my M and D section, it just depends on the day

    Love the video! You are like me. I have posters framed and hanging in every room of my home except my kitchen and darkroom! I collect both vinyl and CDs. I presently have around 1100 to 1200 vinyl records and around 1400 CDs. I also collect movies on DVD and Blu-ray. I presently have around 1300 to 1400 movies. And 120 of those are nothing but Rock concerts and documentaries. And I have the same brand of vinyl inner anti-static sleeves as you!

    • @ts_vinyl
      @ts_vinyl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Fred! Love a good poster, unlike you I actually do have some hung up in my kitchen. I plan to cover every inch of my apartment (besides the floor) with stuff. Man, I'm close to catching up with you on the record collection, I think I'm sitting near 800 currently. I love movies and have a little collection of about 50 DVD's but I know if I get too deep into that rabbit hole I will lose whatever space I have left in my living room

    You’d massively benefit from a system upgrade. The 10% rule is a good guide ie roughly your system being worth or priced at 10% of your collection value.
    Discogs value of my collection is circa £31,000 and my system is around 3,600 so there or thereabouts.
    It’s like a massive film buff watching movies on an iPhone. Appreciate affordability comes onto it. Not a criticism.
    Anyone who says having a great system doesn’t add to enjoyment of the music is plain wrong. It doesn’t matter so much if music is a side hobby but you have a major, serious vinyl collection.

    I'VE GOT A SIMILAR SET-UP FOR A STEREO, WITH TWO TURNTABLES AND A MIXER. AND THAT FOR SURE WORKS FOR ME. EVEN WHEN I START MAKING MORE MONEY I'LL STILL BE GOING LOW BUDGET STEEZ! ANOTHER THING, IF U HAVE GOOD EARS U REALLY DON'T NEED ANY PRICEY GIMMICKY SET UP. I HEAR MY VINYL JUST FINE EVEN WITHOUT ADJUSTING THE EQ.
